I've had him come in and do 3 separate projects, an electrical light socket issue, a install on a new flood light, and a remove of a ceiling fan/install of 6 new recessed lights. Ironically enough each job was in increasing complexity from the other; in all cases, he came on time, was clean, and was fair on his price and recommendations.

This was an upgrade from 100amp to 200amp service, which required new grounding rods, a new meter box outside, a new service wire from the meter to the load center and a new load center. Of course there was a lot of labor to disentangle the romex cables from the old load center and install them in the new load center. We only were out of power for a few hours. Todd is a modern contractor, he actually uses email :) I'm happy with the result and definitely recommend his service.

Chris Heil and his crew at Black River Electrical were excellent. From the proposal process and…read morediscussion to the installation day, they were professional and focused. We chose Black River because they only do generator installation and maintenance. They shared examples of their learnings over the past 10 years, which helped them choose the best parts for the generator installation- and our research validated their choices 100%. They will also service the generator after installation. Work was done exactly as described and ahead of schedule; it passed the town's inspections (scheduled by Chris team) immediately. TOP TWO of all contractors we have worked with on our total house renovation. HIGHLY recommend.

We had been looking for a electrician we could always go to. Always helps to have someone to cover…read moreevery trade you may own when you have a home. So my wife found BMSE Electrical. While the initial work that he did was fine, the service afterwards leads us to that we can't possibly recommend them for electric work. We asked Brian to wire our living room from our office with cat5 as we had a need for a wired connection. He installed the wire and on the surface, it looked fine. When it didn't function properly, repeated emails and calls to Brian were yessed to death and left hanging. He even lied to say he stopped by our house and left a business card. I eventually diagnosed the problem that he wired the cat5 incorrectly as a crossover cable. Once I relayed this to him, still, he continued to blow me off. I even offered $10 for him to stop by when he was in the area to correct the job he had done wrong and he STILL didn't come. In the end, a friend recommended a crossover cable adapter ordered online and that fixed the problem (as 2 crossovers equals standard ethernet, so the adapter canceled out the crossover effect). So, after 4 months of trying to get Brian back here, I fixed the problem myself, at my own cost. Now, the cable has stopped working altogether and I have no reason not to believe it wasn't the poor job he did installing it. For that reason, I cannot recommend them for your electrical needs.
