I spoke with Patrick who was extremely helpful and pleasant. Patrick scheduled a service technician to stop by my house within 3 hours. Alex, the technician called 20 minutes prior to coming over. When Alex arrived I explained the issue. He knew exactly what was wrong. It was a simple, no tools required fix. Alex is very knowledgeable and took the time to explain to how I can avoid the issue in the future. I hope that J&C reads this review because Patrick and Alex need to be recognized as outstanding employees. I have bookmarked J&C's website and will definitely be using and recommending this company in the future. I was not charged for Alex's time (10 min) however I did purchase the Yelp coupon for this company. Thank you Patrick and Alex for your help!

This is a follow up review. I had called J & C twice now after speaking with management about an…read moreextremely easy repair, which was done by Ori, who outrageously charging me $590 for a simple less than 5 minute repair. He asked me before charging me that fortune if I lived alone. I answered that I lived with my children, which was alarming to me. I'm handicapped, use a cane, elderly and was frightened by Ori. Management said that they would come over and refund to me $390 in cash, which is what I was overcharged as the job should have even included more than 1 wheel, like 6 wheels if done properly. That was almost 3 weeks ago, because the job was done on June 19. No refund made EVER. Now they don't answer, nor can anyone leave a message. Total scammers and thieves. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

So a few days ago, the house I acquired a few years, the garage door started to act funny, getting stuck etc. After asking around for recommendations I didn't get a wholehearted one so I turned to yelp. I read a few reviews of this establishment so I decided to give a try. First, the person who answered the phone was friendly and understanding as I was describing sounds and all that's not professional jargon but he got the drift and told me that someone can come the same day to take a look. I didn't expect that but was delighted. The two young men who came to check the problem were Mateo and Alex, nice young men who are professional and courteous. They check the problem and explain to my hubby and myself of the problem and also they didn't try to pull a fast one over us by trying to sell us a brand new system ( which I cannot afford at this time anyway). They came back the next day promptly of the time they promised but ran a little late because of the traffic which is understandable because we are in Bay Ridge and they had to go over that terrible bridge traffic. Once they are here they went straight to work and they even cleaned up afterwards!!! They offered to remove the old stuff that they replaced. They even got me two additional remotes and programmed so I didn't just have one which my 15 yo almost lost it once. Overall I would highly recommend them again and I found out they also do commercial gates too so I will be reaching out to them when that time come for my business.

Company came the same day to fix the metal door. The company does fantastic work. My cellar door was broken into and I needed it fixed. The technician/owner recommended that I get a large circular lock and he said that it would take hours to cut through. The gates were fixed and they did a wonderful job. Price was very reasonable, given it was almost the next day after our initial contact. However, my main issue with the company is their lack of communication and follow through. I had another issue with a metal door. The representative said he would come back to fix it. I had an inspection coming up and the previous inspector cited me for a broken door. I tried to contact the same person several times. He said "we are busy but I will get to you." Weeks went by and I texted him weekly. He continuously responded that he would get to it eventually. Inspection came and I was cited once again for the broken door. My last text was to please notify me if they could fix it or I will go somewhere else. NO RESPONSE. Common courtesy would be indicate that you can't do it. TL:DR : Work is fantastic. communication and follow through is horrible.

It was based off of what the office says. three minutes into it they said the office told me to tell you to replace the whole motor and they charge me $80 for a 3 minute visit. These two tech guys didn't do any kind of testing of the door, electrical, motor. It was all based on what the office tells them what to do. I said, let me to speak to your boss. He said everything is by text with the Boss who is Gabriel. I couldn't even speak to him on the phone then when I wanted to put in a new motor in they charge me $595 but he said they might charge another $80 to tighten up the springs on the sides of the garage door so I said no because you gave me one price to make it work and now you coming up with other prices they might charge me. when I got upset with him the Mexican guy he said it's not my company I don't make the rules very removed non-caring. He was removed from putting his name in front of the company the whole visit. I even told the mexican worker I will leave you a bad review after I pay this $80 he said go right ahead. Removed again. I wanted to speak to his boss I couldn't text only. Disgusting company.

It was definitely not a standard job--our garage was an in-between size, with very low clearance. We got 3 quotes and chose to go with Mike and E&D, and were very pleased with the results. Mike definitely has a casual vibe, but we were thrilled with the professionalism and quality of his work. His assesments were spot on, he was honest about potential delays with COVID and he even arranged to help patch up a spot of rotting wood along the frame. He didn't try to up sell with any features we didn't need and was transparent in his recommendations. His team to do the work, the father and son duo of Ricardo & Ricardo were also great--fast, efficient, clearly knowledgeable and strong attention to detail. We're thrilled with our door and would recommend E&D Garage Doors without hesitation.
