From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and asked to sign in. Jennifer did my dip manicure, and she was incredibly attentive from start to finish. She carefully removed the old polish and dip powder, then helped me pick out a new color--which I loved! As she worked, we had a light, easy conversation about her business and food, which made the appointment even more enjoyable. I appreciated that she took the time to ask about my preferences--checking in on the thickness of the dip, the shape, and the length of my nails to make sure I was happy every step of the way. She finished with two coats of topcoat and massaged oil into my cuticles, which was such a nice touch. The result was beautiful, and I could tell she really takes pride in her work. That said, if you're in a rush, this might not be the spot for you. Jennifer is intentional and meticulous--she's not about rushing through her craft, and that's exactly why I'll be coming back. i could not recommend nirvana enough. i'm shocked they only have 4 stars. if you want GREAT nails without sitting in a room full of strong scented chemicals for an hour i HIGHLY recommend. honestly even outside of the nontoxic benefits, they just do nails better than any salon i've experienced and i've explored around a dozen. the attention to detail is amazing. for this set specifically my nail tech was named tracy. love love love!!!! read more

This place is terrible. I went in for acrylic removal and a new gel x set. Well she convinced me to just fill my acrylic with builder gel. As soon as she started filing my nails down I knew we had a problem. She was super aggressive. My nail beds were burning. My nails were all different lengths and way too short than I wanted. I just asked her to take them off at that point. Which again, super aggressive to my nails in the removal process. Several of my nails still have acrylic on the after she was finished and then tells me it's $30 for the removal. Excuse me, what? Heading to another salon now to get this mess fixed. read more

This is my first time getting a Gel X mani set and I am a bit disappointed. The receptionist Mike was very sweet in booking my appointment really fast so I was excited to come in. During the appointment the measurements looked good but after I noticed the nails were quite a bit crooked and did not match my finger lines. For what I payed I'm just slightly dissatisfied because this nail salon is on the pricer end since they are non-toxic. read more

I tried approximately six different locations in the area before I found Ellie. She is the star of the show at Nirvana. She knows what she's doing, she's very conscientious and works hard to give you exactly what you are looking for. They use what they call "hard gel" vs acrylics (so no nasty fumes and I'm sure it's better for a long-term user). Additionally, I have to say my nails have been more resilient to breaking and my nails never chip. Great product and a great service technician! read more

My mom & I enjoyed a morning at Nirvana Nails, where we were pampered and well cared for by Tammy and Van. Van offered a gentle and thoughtful touch. For a weekday, the place was quiet, we were grateful for the privacy. We went ahead and did the Tropical Toes but unfortunately didn't get the full value of our package. They had left out some items which was a disappointment. My question is what makes the salon non-toxic? We had used OPI polish and they seemed to follow normal protocols. read more

Had my first pedi at this salon today. Very nice, clean spot, well maintained. Staff was most excellent. Jay, who did my pedi, was really gentle with my feet as I have issues with my feet (old injuries). The products are nontoxic, which was an added bonus for me. Thumbs up all around. read more

The owner was really great offered us drinks, but did not do great on my set they broke in two day the stated to chip and they broke my nail I asked for a new set. Instead they went with refills, but they filed down too hard that it broke my set. I do not recommend to get gel nails. Never will come here again. read more

My experience at Nirvana nail spa was probably one of the best experiences I've had at a nail salon! The staff here were super friendly and they offered me some Vietnamese coffee during my manicure that was really good. My nail technician, Elly, took great pride in her work and redid my french tip when the polish started to bubble under the UV light. She mentioned that she wouldn't want to send someone out the door with a job she didn't want done to her own nails. She finished my treatment with a collagen mask for my hands which was a nice addition. I will definitely be coming back here and make this my regular nail salon! I believe this place was called Day Nails and Spa previously. The new ownership plans to continue to make upgrades to the salon which I am excited for. read more

Amazing pedicure! Got my toes done before New Year's Eve and they are still looking great over three weeks later. I'm only giving this Spa three stars however because I've been getting spam texts almost daily from them. And I don't even live in San Diego. I requested twice to have my Number removed from their advertising list and it still hasn't ceased. The spot itself is wonderful. You can expect an amazing pedicure. The quality of the pedicure was great, lovely service and she took her time. The space is attractive and clean, with cool art on the walls. All of that is a 5 star rating. Prices were on the high side, taking it down to 4 stars. The incessant, nonstop talking by the owner, and the lack of awareness for customers quotes wait time, drags this rating down to a 3. If you don't mind any of that, you'll get a nice service, my nails look great. If you want it to be in a relaxing environment for your mani or pedi, I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

I just moved into the area so it was my first visit there. I was royally treated with massages, wine and eye mask. It felt heavenly and I was fully satisfied. I had two assistants work on my feet and hands in parallel. They did a great job, there was probably some extra grooming necessary. My experience at this salon was terrible! Bonnie did my hands, she was very nice but the quality of her work was very nonprofessional. I told her I wanted acrylic for my fill-in she put on gel I questioned her then she removed it only to put the gel right back on. I have about six layers on each of my nails. They are so bumpy the shape looks like shovels. It was just a very unprofessional job! The Asian lady who did my pedicure was very thorough andtook her time but we had a hard time communicating bc she didn't speak any English. As I was receiving my services I kept looking around for a posted price list to which they didn't have one Never in my life have I ever paid near the price of over 140.00 to get my nails done! And after paying later in the day I saw they added a convenience fee on top of that price! That's not right Nirvana to do that, not tell the customer or not to even have a sign up Explaining that fee! I will not be returning bc of your outrageous prices! read more
