It's over the skin and some of the nail not even painted! So disappointed. I called and went off. They need to listen to the customer! Walked in, requested full set with acrylic. She told me to pick a colour 3 times when I had to repeat myself multiple times. I asked for pink and white with glitter in the white powder. Christina had no idea what I was talking about and handed me nail polish that looked like a disco ball. I asked for my nails to be almond shaped, short and with a thin white tip. She did not give me a thin white nail tip. One of my thumbs is wavy from the acrylic she put on me. Very unwelcoming as well. Everytime I tried to make conversation with me she kept looking at me like I was annoying her. I remained quiet even til the end. Everyone else was welcomed very warmly. I wanted a simple French tip and not only are all the lines f**ked up and uneven, but she didn't get close enough to my cuticles with the base color and it looks like my nails have already grown out for a week!! I have Received services such as gel nail polish, regular nail polish, full set, French tip, French tip Acrylic nails, dip powder, and pedicures from just the basic to the royal deluxe. I have also received Brow waxing services, and when everything is finished I leave feeling great, and looking great. Pedicure was alright, she took her time painting my toes, but when she had to do some re-filing and fixing a broken nail I could tell she was getting a little tired. When she painted my nails, they did not come out well. The top coat she used created a lot of ridging. Plus the brish on that polish was MAJORLY SHAGGY. Planned on coming back for a gel mani, but after the paint job on my nails with polish, I don't know if I trust them doing my gel. I like my gel to be perfect! Since it's permanent for about 2 in a half weeks. I get it. Polish can't be perfect! But actually it can, when I take my time and clean up the edges. If someone was paying me to do their nails, I would really take my time making the polish as close to perfect as I can get. I've had good experiences where a nail tech will take her time. read more

Nails by Holly you have lost a loyal customer of 18 years in me today! I came in with an appointment for a pedicure. Was given the menu of services and chose the mani/pedi option with an upgrade for callus remover. My nail tech agreed to all services and we discussed cuticles and color. As she finished up on my toes, Holly (owner) asked if I was getting gel on my nails. I said not today, I only wanted a regular mani. My nail tech then apologized and said because they now had a walk in customer waiting - they didn't have time to do my (cheap) manicure and it was my fault because when I made my appt I didn't request one at that time. They asked me to do some errands and come back for the rest of my services in an hour. Nope. No thank you! No one has time for that and it's ridiculous they would even ask. They lost me so they could make $20 more on the next guy. They have done this to me 2x in the past and I am over them. Plenty of other nail salons within a few blocks of Holly's.... Ciao read more

I've been going to this nail salon for 11 years. I'm not sure why it took me so long to write a review. I'm am very particular with my nails. My go to for a pedicure is Nancy. She is awesome. I love how she cleans and designs my nails. She gives me these foot massage that put me to sleep along with that massage chair. Chau does my manicure. She always knows what I want and how I want my nails. I've gone through my design phases with her since my mid 20s. I've tried other nail salons between the 11 years because I've moved farther away from this nail salon but no one does my nails like how I like them (Chau & Nancy). I came here a few years ago, had a terrible experience from the way they talk to you to the job they do. I never came back, even though its close by my house. However I decided to give them a second try. From the second I came in very rude and rushed. Even though only one client was there. I was in a rush and only getting a quick paint. Didn't even cut my nails or ask. When clearly they weren't even and too long. Just very disappointed with the service and sad that after so many years they haven't changed. I have been going here to get my nails done for the past eight years, and they have never been done better. I have acrylics with gel on top of the polish, and I go back for fills about every three weeks (sometimes closer to four weeks). I have NEVER had a fungus (and I used to get them when I had my nails done at other places). I walk out of there with perfect nails, shaped exactly the way I like them EVERY single time. I almost always have my nails done by Chau (pronounced "chow"), and occasionally by Holly. They both do a fantastic job. Both speak English really well--no communication problems. I get pedicures done by whoever is available, and everyone has always done a good job. I'm the type who isn't really into a lot of conversation when I get my nails done; I prefer to read and listen to music, and that's a preference that has always been respected. Everyone who works there is nice and friendly--everyone gets along great; no drama, no bad vibes. Regarding pricing, I think it's a great value; I'm always a little surprised by how INexpensive it is. Plenty of free parking in the lot. I'm not one to ever write reviews, but my experience here today was so horrid that I felt like it would be an injustice to others if I didn't share. I have been going to this salon for the past few months where Chau fills my acrylics (I was recommended to her by my coworkers and she has done an amazing job every time). Today however, I planned to have my acrylics removed and have my nails painted with regular polish, so I didn't bother to call ahead and request Chau. Upon walking in, the salon was completely empty and the two nail techs sitting around barely batted an eye at me. Despite it having been a slow day with no customers in sight, the nail tech spent an unnecessarily long time now setting up her station. Once she got to work on my nails, she first filed down the acrylic itself but then began to pick, pull, and yank at the glue still on my nails. And boy was the PAINFUL! I did my best to bear through it, not wanting to be a difficult customer, but at times I couldn't help but flinch. To which, the nail tech said nothing. At one point, my nail actually started to bleed and again, the tech dismissed it. Finally, when that horror was over, she started clipping my nails- failing to ask what shape or length I'd like- and by the time I thought to tell her I'd like to keep them long, she had already cut off my entire nail, right down to the base. It was then time to just have my nails painted- how could a nail tech mess that up? Well look at the pictures and see for yourself. I'm from NY and the mani+pedi's combined are $15. However, every nail salon I go to the pedi starts from $18 and they don't do a good job nor is it sanitary. I discovered Nails by Holly thru my co-worker and it's AMAZING :) Holly the owner does the best french pedicure so it's worth the price and the pedicure from start to finish was 1 hour. Much better than other places where they rush you in and out and don't do a good job on the french. I'm SUPER PICKY... so I'm very pleased with NAILS by Holly :) read more
