I use to go to this salon for years but after having wax dropped in your hair for eyebrow waxing, the ladies talking loud and constantly while working on you, and one always on her phone...you don't feel like a valuable customer, just $$$ to them. Got a great spa pedicure here. I didn't have to wait long as they have many ladies available. I have rough feet, and she did a great job of getting rid of callouses and making my feet nice. I have been going to Nails By Holly for about 4.5 years now. I get my acrylic fills with Chau every 4 weeks. My nails don't ever lift and the acrylic doesn't ever crack. I get a pedicure in the spa chair when I go as well. I see different girls for this but I really like Tina. I use to live in RB but moved to Escondido. Worth the extra miles. Not a problem for me that I can't put my visit on my credit card either. They have an ATM there for my convenience. read more

I received a gift certificate for this establishment and thought I would give it a try. I made an appointment for my daughter and I and when we arrived I was seated immediately. My daughter had to wait for 15 minutes, thank goodness she was patient. I had a descent pedicure and my daughter had a descent gel manicure. I don't plan on coming back as there are better salons with better customer service and better atmosphere. read more

The ladies here are super nice... Gentle, and do an awesome job... However, they're a little pricey. I had my nails painted with a gel polish, which is supposed to last about 3 weeks. Had an amazing experience with Chau I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new nail place and I found it indeed. I wanted something festive for 4th of July and showed her some pic for ideas on Pinterest of what I liked. She asked me if she could improvise and asked which color I liked most. I loved that. (most ladies will improvise without asking u first and then when u don't like the end product they try to persuade you by saying "yes it look nice ". Even though u didn't ask for that in the first place.) any who she did a great job took her time and fixed a really bad job they had done before w/o xtra charge. My nails look awesome and I've gotten soo many compliments. I got a pedicure as well lady was super nice and patient since I'm very ticklish she took her time and gave a great foot massage, when it got too intense for me and I said something she immediately stopped and apologize. And continued much more gentle. Overall had a great experience found my new nail place !!!!! and loved every minute I was there I feel like they were there to do an awesome job and I never felt rushed, even when 6 pm on a Sunday came and went ! read more

Lovely place but NOT CLEAN AT ALL. My friend got acrylics and started bleeding when they were sanding the nail . The lady didn't do anything to clean the equipment and placed it back, contaminating all of the other equipment . Also , my friend got her eyebrows done there. Not clean either!! They go from doing nails to eyebrows without washing hands or using gloves ! Also waxed eyebrows without cleaning the skin first . Great way to put bacteria in the pores . Disgusted read more

In my opinion, and I have reviewed several nail places, it is way too over priced and there was way way way too much non-English bantor going on. $29 full set of white tips with decor and $18 pedicure? I wish I would have seen posted prices or asked but I, wrongly, assummed it was decently priced. I treated my 9 year old to a pedicure. Yes she is a bit young, but her teen sister promoted it and the little one was interested. The girl did spend a lot of time and endured my daughter's giggling while in the chair. She got her little toes painted pink with a little white flower on each of her big toes. But .. $18 worth? nah! I love this salon. I have been getting my nails done (gel) here for the past year or so and the gel manicure lasts me sometimes up to 4 weeks. They are done thin and delicate and never have that "chicklett gum" look. They don't lift or chip, unless I do something very rough with my hands. I come to get my acrylic nails done and they do a great job but the lady that it near the reception desk she started to do my nail and she put a acrylic nails on my pinky then she went to a customer who is with a employee and she took the nail polish and put it away and in 20 minutes she said I will be right with you I am not here to see you go to another customer when the employee is with a customer then she came back in 2 minutes and finished with my acrylic.Also I heard her talking to her coworker in another language this is not the time to talk to your coworker when you have a client waiting to get her acrylic done it's about customer service, and while she was filing my acrylic she cut me and I and was bleeding and the manicurist looked at me and said" I'm sorry".if you ever go to nails by Holly and they are filling your acrylic tell them to do it slow NOT HARDi have been going g there and I was bleeding on my right third finger. The lady that was beginning to work on my nails had no idea what she was doing so I got up and apologized and left. I then drove to another place nearby my house and they were short staffed. Today was just not my day to get my nails done I mean SERIOUSLY?! SO I decided to drive just a bit further to this place because I have gotten gel acrylics here before. I am not usually one to leave bad reviews, but I really didn't appreciate the treatment I received yesterday. I came in with my friend she was getting me a pedicure for a late birthday present, she made an appointment for 1015 am, we weren't seen until ten minutes after our appointment, and then one of the ladies was ready for us and I waited another five for my lady to start my pedicure. I asked her if I could get a very simple design (literally two lines) and she asked the lady next to her whom I believe was the manager and she point blank said "No" and it wasn't a nice no it was very rude. And then she stated that the lady whom was doing my toes didn't have time (keeping in mind I started fifteen minutes after my scheduled appointment because of them) so then I looked at my friend and she was equally confused. They didn't have anything else to say.. no sorry no nothing. Then she was cleaning up my toes and pulled a hang nail out and placed it ON MY FOOT???! Not on the towel or in the trash..my foot. Seriously? There pedicure chairs are incredibly dirty they wiped them down with a dry cloth after she rushed through my pedicure to seat the next person. Then when I was done directed me to the door to dry my toes even though there weren't any spots available. I waited a few minutes until I could sit to dry my toes under the black light. Then, finally dried them for a few. Just absolutely dissatisfied with this place these ladies are unprofessional and rude. I've gone to this shop since it opened 17 years ago. It is just wonderful. I've never had a lifted nail, never any problem. I'm surprised by the comments on the talking because I frankly think it's pretty minimal compared to co-workers in a similar environment. Holly and Chau are especially good and Lee does a wonderful pedicure. I've never had waxing done but everything else is absolute first rate. I've moved out of state and trying to find a new shop, I realize how amazing I've had it for 17 years . . .miss them. read more

If I could I would give it O starts. My mom and I went to have our nails done for mother's day around 2:25. The ladies asked us if we had an appointment so we said no. After 5 minutes, approximately, they took us in. The wrap my mom's nail in foil and they put me in the spa because I needed my toes done. After waiting for about 15 minutes in the water, the owner, Holly took my shoes, grave my hand and told me to leave because her 2:30 appointment was there. I told her that the lady was late and now she should wait because I was there soaking to which she responded, "NO I AM SORRY BUT I DON'T HAVE TIME TO DO YOUR NAIL OR YOUR MOM'S" I did not realized that my mom had also been removed from her seat with the foil still on her fingers!!!! I could not believed the luck of professionalism of those people. Everyone in there is always talking about the costumers and making them wait a long time even when they have an appointment. Another lady that had an appointment at 3:00 was asked if she had an appointment, this was around 3:30. She had been waiting and nobody bother to ask her anything until half an hour later. They told her to wait another 15 min. I just can not believe how can business survive treating their costumers this way!!! I WON'T EVER GO BACK THERE! read more

I've been to this salon before for regular polish manicures and pedicures however I went there to get acrylics and had a very bad experience. I usually always get gel manicures and never get acrylics but I thought I'd try something different, so I decided to go to Nails by Holly in Poway. Also, I NEVER have written a yelp review before, ever, however this experience honestly scarred me for life so I felt that I had to share to hopefully prevent any other situations like mine.. Getting the acrylics started off alright however when the buffing started with the machine they use, the drill was burning my nailbed and it was really painful. Because I never get acrylics done I didn't know if this was normal or not so I didn't really say much besides 'ow that hurts...' My nail had been buffed down way too much with too much heat and pressure. Because of that my nails were soo sore for the whole rest of the day and I couldn't do much without having extreme discomfort and pain. Let's just say it was miserable. I also was cut from the roughness of filing my nails. The file was digging into my skin on the side of my nail when the filing was being done and literally cut into the skin which stung for about a week and caused unnecessary problems... So I went today to get the acrylics removed and they had assured me that the pain the I experienced was not normal and meant that the process was done incorrectly. It took them AN HOUR to remove the acrylic and gel that was put on. They explained to me that what they had used for the acrylics at Nails by Holly was not what they were supposed to use, and that it was basically like putting concrete on my fingers as it would just not budge. The whole acrylic removal process is not supposed to take that long or be that strenuous. I seriously felt bad for the sweet woman helping me. Because they used care when removing the acrylic by soaking my fingertips in acetone and filing off the acrylic instead of ripping the fake nail off, damaging the true nail, it took a whole hour to get that stuff off. It's not that I am so much upset as I am disappointed. I wanted to have a nice experience getting acrylics after not having them done for so long and it turned into a nightmare. Luckily I chose an amazing place to get the acrylic removed. I didn't write this to bash on Nails by Holly at all, I'm sure that their other services are great, however I will never get acrylics there again because of this. Hello Gel :) read more
