I have never been treated so poorly by a business in my life. The owner, Lin, screamed at me so aggressively I left the salon in tears. Completely unacceptable. Every time I've come here, the service has been rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Lin is shockingly money-hungry and couldn't care less about customer satisfaction. A nail broke just days after getting them done (because of how poorly they were applied), and when I called, she told me to "come in anytime." But when I did, she claimed it had been two weeks, accused me of lying, and tried to charge me $10 to fix it. She takes zero responsibility for their work. To make things worse, even if you make an appointment, you'll likely be stuck waiting 20-30 minutes before they even start. There's no respect for your time, either. She gaslights, deflects blame, and treats paying clients with no respect. I was even accused of stealing for not wanting to pay for their mistake. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to be yelled at, blamed, and treated like an inconvenience. Unprofessional and completely unacceptable. read more

Not so great experience today at Bernardo Nails. Visited once before in May and loved my long lasting gel manicure. Since I am home for summer, I decided to revisit this salon. I got an Acrylic Nail Removal and Gel Manicure. Usually when I get by Acrylics removed, my nails are soaked in liquid then scrubbed off. When I came here, the acrylic was first ripped off my nail. It really hurt :( The other nail tech was on the phone for a majority of the time which was a little frustrating. The environment was not as relaxing as I hoped. The nails came out looking good, however the experience could be improved. read more

My go to nail salon was booked, so I decided to try Bernardo Nails. I was happy with my experience! Let me start off by saying, I don't need someone to pamper or chat with me. I appreciate they are working efficiently to get their clients in and out. I prefer to work on my phone or laptop while I get my pedicure done. My pedicure was complete within 30 minutes but my technician was thorough with cleaning my cuticles, giving me a mini massage, scrubbing the bottom of my feet, and painting my nails. The best part was my nail polish has lasted for over 2 weeks! Their prices are also reasonable ($23 for a basic pedicure) and someone always picks up to schedule appointments. For the quality and efficiency, I highly recommend this place and will be coming back again soon! read more

To be honest I don't get my nails done often and I appreciate how much patience the nail tech had with me and how much I wanted to change everything. I didn't like my manicure and she re-did it completely for me! My toes turned out beautiful as well on the first try. The manicure the second time around still wasn't exactly what I wanted but I appreciate her effort, time, and kindness. My only complaint outside of not getting **exactly** what I was looking for would be that I was sent home with messy fingers. In reality I could and should've spoken up about that too while I was there. It was a learning curve for me for sure. read more

Um, if you want great service, and grade A workmanship of nails, then don't ever come here. This place sucks. The women who work here are rude and don't care. My mom and I went to get a mani and pedis done recently. My mom got her nails done, and was told that her nails Were dry and was good to go. She was being super careful for an entire hour just in case. And right when we were leaving to go somewhere, she noticed that her nails were wrecked. We called bernardo nails and told them what happened, the lady on the phone barely spoke English, but still had the nerve to blame the situation on my mom for messing up her nails. Seriously, this place is a joke. Please don't waste your time and money here. read more

** Update: I was offered a refund for the manicure which was greatly appreciated. She did ask me to remove the review though since I got a refund on the manicure ($40 back for the mani, but still paid for the $55 pedi) which is a little off putting, but it's here to stay for now ** I feel really bad leaving this review because they were so kind. But holy crap, the nails are TERRIBLE. The only reason I'm leaving 2 stars is because they were so kind and my pedicure looks great. I paid $95 total for a new set and pedicure - I was too ashamed to speak up which is my fault, but the photos don't do it justice. I got a full new acrylic set and asked for the ombré nails. She knew exactly what I wanted and I wanted them a certain length. But this is what I ended up with - I paid and left, and am on my way to a different salon to get them completely redone but I want to cry looking at them. They're way too short for my liking, the shape and color are completely off, and they left my crusty with cuts on my fingers from the nail file. I won't be coming back. read more

My step Daughter and I had our nails done prior to my wedding. We brought some Pinterest pics for examples. The ladies did a great job and our nails looked fantastic! My step daughter got a full set of acrylics with 10 nail designs ans I got a gel mani with sparkle design. We also got pedicures. It been 6 days and our nails still look perfect. The only reason I gave 4/5 is because the lady I made the appointment with a month prior did not come in to work that day and because they were short staffed we couldn't get our eyebrows done. Otherwise it was perfect! This will be our go to nail salon. read more

I visited for a quick manicure on 7/13 around 2pm. They took my temperature and had me fill out a COVID acknowledgement form. Sat down and nail tec didn't wear gloves (a bit off-putting considering the current pandemic) and I noticed immediately how filthy the salon was. Dead cockroach on the ground in plain sight and floors were very dirty. Sorry but very concerning and gross for a salon to be kept in these conditions. read more

first off who enjoys being yelled at? not I! several times I was "offered" full set, polish and Gel, GEL, GEL. !! I kindly refused and explained more than 5 times that the only service I was seeking and needed was : SIMPLE CUTICLE TRIM FOR MY TOES AND HANDS. no polish, no bubbles, nothing else but the cuticle trim. which I received. well done might at add. Then they ( collectively more than 2) demanded payment of 48$ in cash!!!!!!! what the ish are they thinking? when I asked why so substantial, they said because of spa ped n manicure package. nonetheless, they weren't listening. They refuse to see any fault and not being transparent with their prices. Do not go there unless you like being stiffed. read more

"Kay" was not okay, she broke the skin on my ankle, and what's the point of getting fresh pedicure if you can't step into the ocean or pool on one of the hottest days? I did like cool blue walls of the salon part, and got this feeling that back is as big as the front, but it might have been just that the experience did not match my expectations of a nail salon. read more

Read other Yelp reviews before considering going to this Nail salon. It is 2 stars for a reason. I've went there recently for a regular pedicure and will never go back. The job was done very sloppy. The excess nail polish was left all around the skin. The lady who did it barely touched each toe and only cut cuticles on my big ones. The entire time i was in the chair during my pedicure, she was trying to upsell me other services to "improve" my pedicure experience, like a foot scrub, some gel mask for your feet and so on. The flowers on my big toes were uneven in size and just simply didn't look pretty. Overall lousy job with little attention. Will not go back and don't recommend this salon. read more

This is a tiny little nail spa tucked away in a shopping plaza right next to Starbucks and CVS. Hello, good location!!! I have never seen it slammed, but I've also never come here on the weekends, so what the heck do I know? Bernardo Nails has a good color selection of quality polishes. They also do gel coat nails. I like that I never feel rushed to leave my chair. The prices are fair and the service is great! TOP SECRET INFO: Kim and Lee are my fave nail techs...I'm doing you a favor here...I really should keep those girls a secret... But, I'm a yelp-er. I guess I just can't keep my big mouth shut! Went to this nail salon for the first time today and had an awesome experience!! I didn't have an appointment, but Ruby took care of me immediately. Walked in and had a fabulous experience! Kimberly helped me choose the nail color and suggested the snowman and snowflake design for Christmas . She did both of these by hand. She is amazingly talented to do this by hand. She even added the crystal for that extra touch. She was so skilled, helpful and kind. We will definitely be back! The price was very reasonable too and no appointment needed. I had the deluxe manicure. It came with lots of wonderful things. The snowflake and snowman was an extra $7.00 but over all was under $25 for the full treatment . We can't wait to come back!! read more

After a couple months, I decided to come back and had a less than satisfactory experience. I came in to the nail salon at 1:25 & asked for a gel acrylic fill & a basic pedicure. When I say that the pedicure was fast, I mean fast. The whole thing lasted less than 15 minutes. I asked her to put a couple rhinestones on, and later, i realized that she didnt even use the same amount of rhinestones on each foot....? Then Ivy did my nails. It was really pretty & turned out well, until the next day when I went to wash my hands and literally all of the rhinestones came off my nail. Won't be returning.. read more

It was my first time there . Not satisfied with the pedicure and manicure&nail gel . She works fast without focus .. I can do better

For the past 2 mos I've been hopping to 4 nails spa around rancho Bernardo área looking for a home for my nails. So far this one is ok price wise however, I wld have given 4 stars but, I had my first gel nail done (which I always do dip powder) but the lady didn't get what I said. I just let her do what she started co she looked a bit in rush & to try gel instead. Got in on Tuesday morning, Wednesday night one nail chipped off. I wasted my 50$. So I went back on Thursday morning, thinking maybe bcoz it's gel that's why it came off fast & give them another try and see their service with a different tech, I ended up with acrylic nails, my first time. I love it. But still 3 stars coz the tech who did my acrylic nails was kinda impatient however the lady tech did my pedicure was super nice. read more
