    Mango Lassi

One of the best beef samosas I've ever had!! Sad it was my last day or I would've gone back for more. Their mango lassi super delicious! Next time I come back to visit Maui, Nirvana will definitely be on my list. Service was great. Highly recommend!

Their Masala Dosas and Samosas are super good and pair well with their Tamarind Sauce! Especially love the cilantro inside of the Dosas - if you're looking to find great North and South Indian Cuisine on Maui, Satrang is the place to visit - Miguel Morales Photography

We were craving something different on the island after several days of pizza, pasta, etc. Being vegetarian we came upon all these food trucks in Kihei and loved the prior reviews of Nirvana. My wife and I split the masala dosa and the dosa plate. The dosas were piping hot and light. The sambhar was rich and flavorful and complemented the dosas nicely. We only wish the potatos in the dosas were spicier but that's a personal preference. We'll definitely be back here on our next trip to Maui.

This is HANDS DOWN the best vegan plate I've had the whole 3 weeks I was in Maui! As a vegan it was very hard to find something delicious HOT and fully vegan but Nirvana took care of me! So much I had to come back before I headed to the airport! Thank you so much for your wonderful customer service and delicious food! I can't wait to get back for some more!

Being from the Bay area samosas are a dime a dozen this place is spectacular, both the vegetable and beef samosas are the best I've ever had. The sauce for dipping is fruity and wonderful. Well worth the trip to Kihei to find this place in the South Maui gardens all the way back in the corner... Well worth the walk!

Dosa Masala is very tasty! Love it.

I haven't had Indian food since going to a wedding this summer so it was great to find an Indian food truck right in the heart of Kihei! I also got the chai and the mango drink and the mango drink has rose water in it you can totally taste it it made it taste very "fancy" haha I would definitely recommend coming here and trying a little bit of everything

Ordered the two combos - North Indian one that came with choice of 2 out of 3 curries, naan or lemon rice, or half naan half lemon rice.. we got the chicken curry (yummmmy), navratan korma (great but I wish the veggies such as broccoli and cauliflower were cut into smaller pieces) with half naan and half rice. - South Indian one that came with masala dosa, coconut chutney, sambhar, and lemon rice They make the food to order so it took sometime to prepare (maybe 25-30 minutes) but it was sooooooooo worth the wait! DELICIOUS and you can tell it was freshly made! Their food is wayyyyy better than a lot of Indian restaurants in Philadelphia haha I wish I'd come with more time on my hands to really sit and enjoy the food.. unfortunately had a flight in a couple of hours so had to rush. I'm sitting with my piping hot masala chai in hand waiting eagerly to try it.. I'm sure it's awesome. Paid $30 before tip.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly, and the portions were generous. I was already doing the math and thinking , "Eh, we might be here awhile." But nah, good timing. People were finishing up, bussing tables, and bam, maybe 20-30 minutes tops. Not bad at all. While we was waiting, they come out with waffle samples for everyone in line. I mean... who does that? That's how you keep people from getting all hangry. Instant good vibes, the whole line outside was just smiling and waiting patiently. Finally get seated and both the hostess and waitress were super nice--real friendly, no rush, no attitude. In the front they had mushroom soup on the specials board, so we figured we go sample um. I had them bring a cup of soup out to start along with my wife's coffee. Gotta be honest--when I dipped my spoon in, I was already judging. Looked kinda thin, not creamy like other mushroom soups I've had. I was thinking, "Ahh here we go." Took one spoonful and immediately had to humble myself. That soup was money. Like, stop-talking-and-just-eat. My wife tried it and confirmed that this soup was "winnahs" . Deep mushroom flavor with the right amount of seasoning. It also came with a little piece of focaccia toast which I would have really enjoyed but had to take my wife's word for it since she ate um all . Should've ordered the bowl. Rookie mistake. For my main, I went with the original eggs Benedict. Portions were a little on the small side, but with the roasted potatoes, I was good. Didn't leave hungry, didn't need to loosen the belt--perfect middle ground. My wife got the strawberry waffles and yeah... those were legit. She's not a syrup person, so she asked for more whipped cream. The waitress comes back with a little mountain of whipped cream in the little silver ramekin. All in all, solid spot. Friendly people, ono food, and little touches that make you feel taken care of. We will be heading to Cafe Kaila again to try some other stuff like the "chicken and waffles", and next time, I'm not playing around with the soup. Bowl, Garans.

You can tell they put real care into what they serve, and it shows in every sip. We ordered two lattes, one with brown sugar and one with vanilla, and both were amazing. The flavors were balanced, not overly sweet, and complemented the quality of the espresso perfectly. We also shared a cheese danish that my husband absolutely loved. He said it was one of the best he has ever had, and I have to agree -- buttery, flaky, and so fresh. The shop itself has such a fun, cozy vibe. There's even a swing inside, which adds such a unique and playful touch. It's the kind of place you actually want to hang out in, not just grab a coffee and go. Service was excellent. The barista was super friendly and even made the cutest latte art, which totally made my day. I ordered a 12 oz and loved that it came in a mug, while my husband got a 16 oz to-go. My only wish is that they would offer mugs for the larger sizes too. It would be a nice way to cut down on paper and plastic and make the experience even better. Overall, Akamai Coffee is a gem. Between the amazing drinks, delicious pastries, welcoming atmosphere, and thoughtful service, it's the kind of place you'll want to visit again and again. They also have various sizes, not just one size which was nice to control the intake of caffeine for the day. I tried the Road to Hana which was good, on the sweeter side. Then, on the second visit, the server told me that I can get the hot chocolate seasonal flavor as a coffee and make it less sweet - i did that. Both very yummy drinks. On the sweeter side. I did not feel the caffeine as much as I did with Early Bird. I love that they offer drive-thru, though, which was super clutch and the reason for our multiple visits. I tried to go to their Kihei Plaza location, but couldn't figure out how to get to the drive-thru, haha! It's like through a parking lot but there are too many buildings around that I just didn't know where to enter.

I really like that I can select from the old world German Artisan collection and the Hawaiian Artisan baked goods. I snagged the Isabelle, a loaf of bread made of spelt (dinkel wheat, high in protein, fiber, and antioxidants) and rolled in an assortment of seeds. The texture is soft and the crust is slightly chewy. Just right and the taste is very satisfying. I can't bring myself to putting a slice into the toaster, though, because I don't want to risk losing any of the seeds. I'll be fine with the broiler and some butter. I also went for the Hawaiian Bread. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. It has pineapple, toasted coconut and tiny soft raisins. The bread is moist from the pineapple juice and the loaves are small. I could finish one off in a setting but I resisted the urge. I also bought extras for sharing and had to pass them out quickly before temptation called. I'll return soon.

Basically they cut the croissant in half, filled in the cream and put the top back. Odd. Better between the two. Might be too sweet for some. Prices are higher than other places. I don't think you'll find anything subpar. Seems like good offerings.
