6 hr car ride led me to Nirvana this past Saturday. My back neck and legs were jacked up and tense. I called nirvana from the road and requested a massage to fit my requirements. Mind you I had no reference point on quality except for yelp. The lady, forgot her name, said ok. I was worried about lost in translation when I got there. But to my surprise, as soon as I hit the door, everything from beginning to end exceeded expectations. In today's society that is rare. The 90 minute massage was exquisite and unforgettable. I tipped over and above as a down payment for my next visit. I am not local but will call in again from the road for sure next time. Thanks ladies. Btw sorry for breaking the clock...oops. read more

This place is filthy. The odor upon arriving made my eyes water. I decided to leave. The smell, filth of the floors along with the lack of customer service makes this place a DO NOT GO! Don't waste your money or your time here. read more

Used to come here a lot and got pretty good service, massage and it was affordable. Price hasn't gone up, but they have started to try and upswell with scented oil, hot stones, etc... Whatever, that's smart I guess. I was sold on $10 upgrade to lavender scented oil. When she started the massage I couldn't smell any lavender but figured I would wait till the end and see if she brought it in at some point. When she finished I still never smelt any scent. Upon checkout I was paying and mentioned to the manager I never smelt any lavender. She then spoke to the masseur in Chinese. I don't speak the language, but their conversation went beyond the simple "did you use lavender oil" and "yes I did". They went back and forth 4 or 5 times and then she turned to me and said the oil is organic so I can't smell the lavender but it is doing its job to relax. Really? I am not stupid. I'll never go back. read more

I love coming to Nirvana Day Spa! Everyone is always very sweet and when I walk in I always feel welcome. Make sure you request Annie! She is very great and without saying anything she knew exactly what to press and where it hurt the most. The prices are great and it's always very relaxing and quiet! No one is rude and the staff doesn't talk loud while you're getting massages. Whenever I'm stressed out I stop by and I always leave feeling refreshed and light. I highly recommend!! read more

Have been here twice and both have been great experiences! Got the full body massage with the lavender essential oil (extra $10), the room felt very private and was not noisy at all. Would definitely recommend, prices are affordable! My full body massage in the private room came up to $50 with the essential oil for 60 minutes. read more

Terrible. The women who work here are rude and very inconsiderate. My experience: First I wait in the lobby for 20 minutes for someone to finally come and greet me and tell me that they don't have any availability until 1 hour from then. That's fine, so I come back. When I do I get put in a private room, and the masseuse in the room next to me tells me to take my clothes off for the massage. I see the woman next to me through the curtain and she has indeed taken her clothes off. I notice that the place is very musty smelling and the floor very dirty. There is not even a basket to put my clothes or shoes, so I have to put them on the dirty floor. Next thing I know, I'm laying on the table waiting for the massage therapist, and suddenly someone hits my leg (extremely hard- I had a mark even 20 minutes later) I am stunned, she begins yelling that I cannot take my clothes off!! I even still had my undergarments on- was under a sheet and being very respectful! (And personally I don't even like being naked for a massage- so I was following THEIR wishes!) I am now very angry and I get redressed and walk out of the room, leaving for the door. Another woman stops me and says she's sorry in broken English for the woman telling me to take my clothes off, and that quote, "she is new". However- she never once apologized for the woman hitting me- yelling at me for something that I didn't even do wrong! She is smiling condescendingly and saying that it's ok, but honestly I think she just wanted to keep a sale. I walk out, and find that I have a bite on my leg too!! So not only are the people rude, the place musty and not well kept, but they also have bugs. I'm extremely dissatisfied, and will never return. Btw- how many of you have been to a massage place in America that puts you in a private room and then doesn't let you take off your clothes off? (When other people in the place are butt naked?) -KS read more

Not from the area decided to spend a couple hours pampering myself as I had a few hours to spare. I yelped a couple places in the area they were all by appointment I needed it now, I called nirvana and went to voice mail so I kept on with my search. Less than 2 minutes after I was receiving a call, I was shocked to hear a very sweet voice calling returned my call from Nirvana. ....I loved that! I asked if she could take me in 10 minutes , she said yes. I asked how much for an hour, she's said $45 ...I was like see you in 10 minutes that's a deal!! In my area your looking at 90-110. ANY who SO im running couple minutes behind I get a call from Nirvana making sure I was finding their location okay(Very thoughtful, as I'm not from the area). I get there they get me straight to the back they ask what I want I said full body(obviously what I'm used to is private naked massages) this gives you the option same price I took advantage did $50.00 for 75 minutes. They added aroma therapy for me the woman was AMAZING, she gave me the best massage I think I have ever had she stayed away from an injured area of mine as I requested and head to toe literally, she massaged my head scratched my scalp (women love this, well at least I do) I was melting. She was amazing, I want to go there again even though it's not in my area because my boyfriend really needs to experience her ( sorry I forgot your name, but ur awesome)! THANK YOU , and thank you Nirvana day spa, great energy, sweet staff, beyond great technique my body was relaxed and I feel amazing today, well needed. If you in the area you have to try this place but make sure you get the full body private massage. read more

Called in around 8 pm to come in for an hour body massage. They fit me in at 9 pm with Angela. I was put in the private room, which was very relaxing. There are no walls, but it was quiet with nice music playing. Angela listened perfectly to my direction on pressure in different areas. They provided a blanket instead of a sheet which kept me nice and warm. She didn't use lotion, but I think that might have been because I purchased the essential oil I was offered at the front before the massage. They let you keep the rest of the oil if they don't use it all which is nice. I didn't catch the woman's name at the front, but she was very sweet. Very affordable and I will definitely be coming back! read more

I really wanted to go get a couples massage with my husband for our anniversary. Now he says he will never get one again. K that was the day after let me tell you bout when I first called the one who answers the phone whispers I thought she was sick or something I couldn't hear her I kept asking to confirm appointment to see if I heard her right she hung up but after I got a confirmation text which was good. So we got there now I know why she was whispering it cause it's not rooms it's just curtains so you can't talk and if you have to use the restroom you have to tiptoe. Prices are reasonable but you get what you pay for. read more

My wife and I have been satisfied customers for several years now because no other spa has been able to consistently provide the level of quality services we receive at Nirvana Day Spa. such a great place. it's very clean, the entire team is very professional and welcoming. had such a great massage - it was an hour of heavenly bliss. even with the open area they do it right and allows you to feel very relaxed and in your own space. love that they start with the hot wooden tub to soak your feet. i was so pleased i took my boyfriend back the next weekend and he had a full body massage and she actually got a bad knot of of his neck that was preventing him from turning his head. needless to say we're both sold and will be back for sure! read more

Wonderful experience! The place was neat & I immediately felt comfortable. I usually am a little nervous walking into a new massage place but the lady (yen) I think was her name, was very kind and made me feel good about being there. The full body massage from Lucy was amazing!!! She worked on my problem areas & had great technique. I do not like hard massages but she had the perfect pressure for me. It was firm but still sensual & relaxing. I will be returning. Thanks read more

Amazing! Love this place... I've gotten A LOT of massages at various places all over Ventura County and I'm so happy that I found this place. I've NEVER gotten a bad massage here. I recommend that you pay the extra $15 bucks and get a private room for $40. Always a super nice, accommodating staff. The infrared sauna is awesome too, and 2 people can go at the same time. Plus you can use the shower there after the sauna and it's really nice. Great value for the price! read more

Great place! Yen the owner does her best to make you feel like royalty! The staff are very professional and are all accomplished massage technicians that I have never had a bad experience. You cannot beat the value. The same massage would cost $100 to $120 at other spas. Nirvana is the best in atmosphere, service, and value for the money. I am a life long customer! read more

I have yelped Nivana Day Spa before as a regular customer, but felt an update was well deserved. Recently, I brought my young adult daughter and was so pleased to see they specifically picked a young female masseuse for her. While I was getting my own massage, which is always amazing, i didn't worry about my daughter. I knew she was in good hands and safe. The owner continued to check in on her and happy to recommend them again! Best in the Conejo Valley! read more

This place is a hidden gem! I get the 1 hour foot massage and it is well worth the $20. I usually get a different person each time I come in and they have all been wonderful. I typically walk-in with no problems, but they have been really busy the last couple times I've walked in, so I'd suggest making an appointment. read more

My family and I have been going to NDS for years and this is our favorite massage location in Thousand Oaks. The owner is always extremely friendly and willing to accommodate varying schedules. The staff is very competent and the massages are excellent. It's amazing what the quality and length of a massage for $20 (plus tip). Sometimes the masseuses can be a bit talkative amongst one another during a massage, but it has gotten a lot better. Overall, highly recommended. read more

My wife and I have been here several times. Most of the time is has been a good experience, although I'm not sure on what if any actually training any of them have received. Maybe one out of 3 times I'll get a real good massage. A couple of things that I find irritating is the recent BS with the "private" rooms. And the sheet vs no sheet. It just a way for them to charge more. Who the hell goes to get a massage with a sheet over your back!!! Secondly, lest not be so stingy with the oil... A few times my skin had absorbed all the (thin cheep) oil they use and I had to tell her to add more, really? I thought I was going to get a friction burn.. Had to tell her to apply more oil..I'm sure Mgnt tells them to use as little as possible. I may try one more time.. But I feel it's time to more one and try another place.. read more

I went to this massage parlor today because of all the good reviews it got. Before I went, I called to reserve the foot massage, and I specifically asked for a female masseuse (female). I told the lady who was making the appointment that if there wasn't a female available, I didn't want to get a massage. She called me an hour later and promised me that she would get me a female masseuse. When I arrived, I did in fact get a female masseuse. However, at some point during the massage, they switched her with a male masseur. I had a cloth over my eyes so I was completely unaware and no one told me about the switch. The only reason I found out was when he tapped my leg halfway into massaging my feet and asked me to scoot down. So shady and completely unprofessional! I actually liked the massage and was even contemplating getting a private room for a full body massage at this parlor but I don't trust them after this. Nirvana, please don't promise what you can't do and please let your customer know when you make changes to what they had specifically requested. read more

This is the most amazing place ever! I now go about once every week, or every other week. I have medical issues that cause severe muscle and joint pain and going here has helped ease my pain dramatically! I am a business women who has been fortunate enough to travel for work to some highly acclaimed spas in the country. I can honestly say this is the BEST massage I've ever had!!! I have never had a bad massage here and I now bring all my friends to enjoy this hidden treasure! Although not so hidden anymore with all these outstanding reviews! This place is very clean and the owner Yen, could not be more accommodating or nicer! She runs a great business and knows the importance of excellent customer service and cleanliness! If you want the therapist to change the pressure up or down, just signal as the language barrier can be broken with good facial and hand communication. If you really can't get your point across, Yen speaks the best English in the establishment and can help. I've had Sunny most times, since she now knows that I require a specific amount of pressure. Sunny is so sweet and an amazing masseuse! Kevin and Yuki are also great, but I've heard ALL therapist are excellent and well trained! The price will shock you, so I ALWAYS tip beyond generous, given the service that you receive. Even with the higher tip you will still feel like you are under paying because of the high skill set these therapist have! Worthy every penny and much more!! I truly hope they NEVER leave! read more

So ive given this establishment three chances! first time i had a great experience the second time i went it felt rushed and just wasnt as relaxing as the first time i went. when i went to pay she gave me this death look while i was reaching in my wallet for the tip as she continued to recount the money like it wasnt enough because i hadn't tipped yet being that i was waiting on the on the other three people in my party that i was paying for to see if there massage was as disappointing as mine! And 2 out of the 4 were happy. Was very dissapointed but figured id give them another shot ,So I made an appointment for 2:20p.m arrived at 2:21 and the lady was extremely rude and basically told us we were a half hour late and said we would have to wait outside for 30-45 mins.because they didn't have enough seats in the waiting room to accomadate our party of 4! I wish i would have gotten the ladies name who helped me on my first visit so I could give her the complaints she deserved.shes probably one of the main reason they're even open still! Will not be returning, and don't recommend you do either unless you like being treated with blatant disrespect! Couldn't believe how rude the front desk lady was on my last visit! read more

Not only am I completely disgusted by this business' unethical, discriminatory practices, but I am astonished by how they treat potential customers who don't fit their "preferred mold". I came down from San Francisco to visit my grandma and thought it would be a great idea to getting massages. My grandma is handicapped due to a car accident ten years ago and suffers from chronic foot pain and the only thing that really helps is massaging, so she was really excited about coming to Nirvana. Upon walking in, the manager doesn't greet us nor ask my name and immediately asks who is getting the massage, me or "her"... I said my grandma is and she made a stank look on her face, looked at her up and down, and said no no we can't help her she doesn't need a massage she needs to go to a doctor and then proceeds to hand me a card for some random doctor. While this was happpening she was helping other people and ignoring my questions about why exactly she was being denied service. I never got a clear answer As to why they wouldn't do a FOOT MASSAGe on someone. But as I looked around she gladly helped other older people and the other customers who were waiting for their massages, whom were all white. Both me and my grandmother are of mixed descent and the looks this woman was throwing me the entire time were enough to make me just politely leave. I intend to report this business for discrimination and if you don't want this to happen to you're loved ones I would avoid this place like the plague. read more

I have been a customer for over five years. And I keep coming back even though I've moved to another city because Nirvana is so superior to the competition and worth the drive. If you want to know how successful they are all you have to do is walk through the door. They are always busy. This is because the many masseuses who work there do a Fantastic job!! $20 plus tip for what amounts to be a complete body massage is the best deal EVER!! Here are two good bits of advice that you should remember : Tell your masseuse if you have any areas on your back, shoulders, neck or feet you would like them to concentrate on and they will take extra care to work over your problem area. Also, be direct as to how soft or firm you want your message to be. Follow these two bits of advice and I can 100% guarantee you will be satisfied and join the ranks as a returning customer. There are many choices to make in regards to a foot massage in the Conejo Valley, but you need to look no further than Nirvana because they set the standard for excellence!! I'm actually very upset. I come here very often for the one hour $40 massage and I've never had such an awful massage. For a $40 one hour massage The first 20 minutes didn't include any oil. It was completely outside of the towel draped over my skin, ouch that burned. She continued even after I requested for her to use oil. The rest of the massage consisted of her massaging so gently and lazily and totally missing muscles. Then she went to take the oil off. Now this is typically done with a steamed towel. This towel was not remotely warm. I knew right away I was tipping her $6. Which sucks, because this is such an inexpensive massage I typically tip 30%-50%. So I went to pay and she charged me $60 and couldn't reverse the tip she added herself. Mean while another customer is paying, leaving the tip I usually would leave. So now I feel like a huge asshole asking for my money back, but come on that was the WORST massage I've ever had. Then she added a 50% percent tip herself? That was definitely my last time there. read more
