I was in the mood for a smoothie and Nips just so happened to be staring right at me so I popped in! I asked for some suggestions and ended up going with the peanut butter. I'm a person who likes peanut butter but if you're not into it so much this may not be for you. The peanut butter is thick! It's heavy on the peanut butter and bananas without much fluff of milk or other liquids. I really appreciated this and found it quite tasty. I'll likely pop in again to try some of their other offerings! read more

I have been wanting to try them for years. Usually when I'm in the area they are already closed for the day. I finally had my chance to go on a Saturday morning. It was brightly lit and I liked the decor. There was music playing and I was greeted immediately. I ordered the Pineapple Passion and it tasted so fresh and it was delicious. It looks like they may also sale patties to eat but there weren't any when I went. Overall, service was quick and friendly. I would revisit. read more

When u first walk in there is a RANCID smell like absolute egg farts and it never went away the entirety I was in there even when everyone left the smell remained. There was only one lady working and she looked completely annoyed that she was working. No "hello" or "good afternoon" nothing, just rude. The smoothie was a rip off it wasn't even full if I'm paying for 16oz it should be 16oz. Again she was rude and hospitality was on 0%!!. The smoothie wasn't even good. AND THEY DONT EVEN SELL JUICE?! read more

Good vibes only - Delicious smoothies & super sweet owners! My brother and I loved our experience at the Nips Juice House. The owners are fellow New Yorkers, and we chatted it up. Upon arrival, Chris shared recommended smoothie options with the add-ons. I tried the Green Grenade with OJ, milk, kale, pineapple, apple, dates, and chia seeds, and it was madd good. They have a variety of vegetarian patty options, and I went with the lentil and chickpea one. The crust was flaky and the stuffing was savory. We were curious about the juice cleanse options and he let us try the Island Water that has alkaline water, pineapple, lemon, spirulina, and agave. It was sweet and my brother said "It taste way too good to be healthy for you. This could be my every day juice." We both enjoyed it. I love supporting local Black-owned businesses and they are a hidden gem. They had hip hop & r&b hits playing in the background. Listen, I'd come back to use the wifi and work remotely from here. That's how excited I am about returning, and including them in my routine. It's a vibe. If you're anything like me and love healthy eats, this is your new spot. Go go go - NOW! read more

All their fruits are fresh and used to create cold-pressed juices, smoothies, wellness shots, and bowls! Craving something warm? They offer patties, vegan waffles, avocado toast, and Nutella toast. What I ordered: Açaí Bowl Impossible meat patty My acai bowl featured orange juice as a base (you can choose your liquid base, including various plant-based milk), strawberries, blueberries, and bananas with granola, coconut, and honey! It was refreshing and very fulfilling, so much so that I couldn't finish both the bowl and my impossible patty in one sitting. I love Jamaican beef patties, and at Nips, I can still have it even on my meatless days! Flaky golden buttery pastry crust with the savory taste of paprika and allspice. read more

This is my 1st time in the DMV area but I heard great things about this place! I went as soon as I could & they didn't disappoint. The staff was nice and helpful. The location is great with indoor & outdoor seating and the restaurant is clean & in order. My açaí bowl was delicious and not too sweet. All the ingredients were fresh and prepared right in front of me. I'll definitely go back before I leave. read more

This was my second time visiting Nips Juice House and each time it gets better. I love how my fresh juice is made to order. The first step is to start with a base. I started with the orange base, carrot and pineapple, then you add on two additional ingredients for free from a very extensive list. It was difficult for me to make a decision there were too many great choices. I added, lemon and ginger and for one dollar extra beets. Chris was very patient with me, as I changed my order twice and then started eyeing the smoothies as well. I also started looking at the patties and decided to try the jackfruit patty, which Chris said was his favorite. I tore that patty up while waiting for my juice, hahahaha. It was delicious. The texture was perfect and the patty was warm and flaky with the right amount of barbecue sauce and spice. I got to my car and as I was finishing my juice I noticed a sweet hand-written message on the cup, which made my day. What a nice touch. If you're in Silver Spring and haven't stopped by Nips do right by your body and treat yourself. Especially on a day like today. why not refuel your body with fresh fruits and vegetables versus soda and drinks containing dyes, high fructose corn syrup and no nutritional value. read more

Please... do not sell that travesty you call avocado toast. When someone sees "avocado toast" on a menu, at the very least I think they expect to see slices of avocado. Not that store bought wholly guacamole spread you're using. And you didn't even use a lot, it was spread so thin it wasn't even recognizable as any form of avocado.. plus it was covered by whatever seeds you use. It was just a mess. Not worth $5 and again, should not be on the menu at all. read more

I went here with a friend and we both agreed this was the absolute worst açaí bowl we've ever had. I didn't even finish it. I don't know how fresh it is considering the mango looked and tasted like it came from a can. It's kind of ridiculous for the menu to even call it an açaí bowl considering it is watered down and mixed with 4 other things. If you actually want to taste a proper bowl go to Playa bowl. read more

I've had my eye on this place for a while, and I'm glad I took the time to actually visit this past weekend. It's a cute little shop that's very colorful, and I believe this is where the Jimmy John's used to be. There's quite a few options to choose from for a bowl or a smoothie, but I decided to order the Tropical açaí bowl with bananas, mango, and strawberries for the toppings, and honey, granola, and coconut flakes are already included for no additional cost. I'm very glad I chose this bowl but will most likely be back to try some others. They also sell Caribbean kale and callaloo patties! Unfortunately I wasn't able to try one, but my friend ordered one and went back to order a second to go while raving on and on about it. Looking forward to trying it soon! read more

I had their Super Luna smoothie and all I can say is that it made the entire day significantly better. The fruit was fresh, the flavor was delicious & I highly recommend it. I got this via DoorDash so I can't vouch for their service or any other items but I plan on coming there soon to try out other items as well. But hands down one of the best things I've had all week, very refreshing. read more

I don't know what this is but I ordered the Super Luna after the person in front of me did and her smoothie looked completely different than mine and she ordered the same thing. All I saw the girl put in the smoothie was a crazy load of oat milk, and soursop.... Nothing else. It's not even the right color and it doesn't have a taste. Tempted to walk back in there and get a refund. This was my first time coming. I don't taste dates, bananas, definitely not pineapples, and no soursop. It's literally tasteless. Also, I wanted to order more but there was nothing to order. She kept saying y'all didn't have anything. read more

Great black owned juice bar that serves cold pressed juices, bowls, smoothies, wellness shots and snacks such as vegan cookies, vegan brownies and vegan waffles. They also serve juice cleanses ranging from a 3 day to a 7 day cleanse. I also left my wallet there during my visit and they contacted me to come back and pick it up! read more

I love love love acai bowls, so when I moved to Silver Spring 2 years ago from Bethesda, I knew I needed to find a new place! I was so happy when I came across Nips Juice House! Their fruits are so fresh, and you can't beat the price of the acai bowls. I get them more often than I probably should, but they are so addicting (in a good way!). There are usually only 1-2 workers there at a time, so you do have to be patient when waiting for your order. Sometimes it can take a little longer than expected, but it's worth it in the end! I do feel that improvements to the overall look of the store could go a long way and definitely make the ambiance more appealing. read more

I have been going to this place since it has opened and I truly love this smoothie spot. Not only are the smoothies FRESHLY MADE WITH LOVE BUT the customer service is always SUPERB. I even love talking to the customers there because everyone is always is in a good mood thanks to Chris the owner who always keeps good vibes in the shop. I can go there in the worst mood and always leave out in a good mood. I took my mother there as well because she was stressed from coming back after business traveling and she was so happy to be there... my only complaint now is she's addicted to this place so every time I go there NOW SHE WANTS A SMOOTHIE! So I have to carry TWO SMOOTHIES for TWO BLOCKS! The stuff is too good that's my only complaint be careful who you introduce this place to.. because you will be sent on smoothie runs all the time read more

Welcome to Silver Spring Nips! I'm happy I stopped in today.. this place actually caught my eye on the way to an appointment-- I had a few extra minutes to spare so I stopped in! First time ordering and made an online order. I wasn't aware that all bowls come with coconut which I am allergic to. When I told the lady making the bowl I was allergic to coconut her only response was you didn't put that on the order . i totally understand she was the only one working but that not how you reply to a customer concern. She did not offer to remake it or give me any other option. I had to ask for a refund. Also she said they were out of almond butter but there was almond butter on the finish bowl. Maybe y'all should have 2 people work so your staff won't feel overwhelmed and give poor customer service. The bowl look great beside the coconut but unfortunately I wasn't able to try it. read more

Love them! The smoothies are great with fresh ingredients and fabulous customer service. I came in twice over the Memorial Holiday weekend. The only drawback was the wait time was on the longer side, as there was only one young lady working solo that weekend. She was doing her absolute best and got a fabulous smoothie both times. Yet, another customer walked out in annoyance, but please don't let that deter you. It's a newer spot + a holiday weekend. So if the staff shortage hasn't already been remedied, I'm sure that it will be. read more

The smoothies were excellent. Probably the best I've had in this area. The patties were extraordinary and fresh. My favorite was the kale and callaloo. There were bottles juices to go and I'm not sure if they made fresh pressed juices on the spot since it is a juice house I'll assume they do which I would have preferred. I'll see next time. Met the owner and she was friendly. Wishing them all the best. read more

I was craving a smoothie in the middle of the day at 8 months pregnant, and found Nips on yelp. I don't usually get smoothies because I'm really picky about them, but Nips was great!! This place is amazing!! I live nearby and have been working my way through the menu, there is great selection and everything is delicious. The staff are also incredible, so nice, friendly and thoughtful. They are dog friendly, I stopped in to put in an order while walking my dog and when I came back to pick up my order there was a bowl of water waiting there for my dog along with my order. It's the kind of people and businesses you can't find most places anymore. You can tell this place cares about the community and their customers. Their meat pies are also so so good, I've had chickpea, collard greens and a couple other vegan options and they have all been so flaky and satisfying. A great stop for a smoothie or açaí bowl, not to mention one of the best açaí bowls I've had. I got the choco-nut base (açaí, almond butter, and banana) with blueberries, strawberries, and bananas. They topped it with honey, coconut, and granola--and wow it was good! read more

This is hands down the best place to get smoothies and cold pressed juice from! It's nice to support a black owned business that has EXCEPTIONAL customer service! I love that they give you different kinds of milk options for the smoothies. The cold pressed juices are really good (so far my favorite is Sweet N' Sour)! Chris, who is the owner, is super nice. This place also has juice cleanse options as well! I highly recommend this place!!!! Two thumbs up!!! read more

It boggles my mind that this place closes at 6:00. The obviously don't realize that they would receive much more business if they stayed open until 8:00. They are right next to an LA Fitness and there are a ton of people that workout there after work. Additionally the nearby Smoothie King closed, however they were conscious enough to stay open later than 6:00. read more

Where to start? Where to start? I think I discovered this place last week and have been there at least 5 times already! Beautiful gem. The inside is decorated beautifully, clean, and modern, very welcoming! The customer service is immaculate; you are greeted as soon as your enter. What I loved most about this place is seeing the owner and his wife make my smoothies. This really shows this is their baby!! I mean of course they have staff there but to see the owners working made it a better place to enjoy! Like wow. Staff is wearing masks (COVID-19 friendly) and using gloves to make our items which is good! The smoothies are FANTASTIC! I have likely tried almost half of them including with add ons. They have a plethora of add ons you can add to your smoothie with items such as whey protein, granola, chia seeds and so forth. The PATTIES AND AVOCADO TOAST! Whew, HEAVEN!!! Just go ahead and get 2 patties for yourself cause you're gonna want another one after you finish the first; the vegan and kale are my favorites! This place is a great addition and gem to our neighborhood, WELCOME! We love you all already!! read more
