    The waterhole seating

We need more spaces like this! When you hear about a watering hole, most people tend to think of a place to get an alcoholic beverage on a regular basis. But, that's not quite the case here! This is literally a Watering Hole of holistic healing and wellness administered through 100% all natural juices, smoothies, and plant-based organic bites. Lisa, the owner is so nice and very committed to her health and wellness vision. I ordered the Irie Thunder Juice, a concoction of pineapple, coconut water, and ginger. The prices for a 12oz is $4.99, a 24oz runs $9. You also can add your shots such as wheatgrass, protein, and a few other additions. Anything with ginger, make sure to stress if you only want to taste a little. I don't mind a lot of ginger, but Lisa asks you upfront before she goes to prepare your drink. And by the way, my Irie Thunder was delicious! Other Juices I can't wait to try are Leaf Lover (Kale, parsley, cucumber, spinach, pear and lime) and Three Kings (apple, beet, carrot, and ginger). On select days and evenings they host spoken word and invite different bands over to perform. There are lots of stools and some sit down seating for just hanging out. You will find featured on the walls, art by local artists. The Waterhole is taking a form all it's own with additional plans to expand next door. I am in love with this place and it's positive vibe; it's actually a watering hole with all the essentials for long life. Just walking past this place is always a reminder to come in and do something good for my body!

I like everything about this place. The atmosphere is cool and calming. It's also very clean! I finally got to meet the owner Lisa, who is very friendly and down to earth. Her customer service is remarkable! Now, the drinks: I ordered the Three Kings fresh juice which has Beets, oranges, Carrots and a nice subtle kick of ginger for the win! (Lol) I really enjoyed my fresh juice. My friend isn't a fan of beets so I ended up drinking hers too! She ordered a fruit smoothie which she loved so much, she ordered another! Everything was fresh and made upon ordering. I love this place and I will be returning!

Awesome Find!! The place is inviting and clean and I love the selections and that you can create your own, all of the food is fresh and they're Vegan, and the BESTEST part is that it's a local, small, black owned business Smoothie King, Tropical smoothie GOODBYE! Sorry not sorry

two menus on a wooden table

Parking is on the street and if you go on Saturday there may not be a space on the block. The juices and smoothies are made fresh but not a ridiculous wait like Tropical Smoothie so no angry crowd . Juice was so good got two on Saturday and came back for two more Sunday. LOVE that they are open on Sunday so you can get your Juice first thing before you start your day.

Sometimes you walk into a place and they just get you. My lifestyle...or what I'm striving for...simplicity and wholesome ingredients, not just a drink, but a tonic...not just good food, but nourishment and nutrients for my body. Waterhole offers vegan/gluten free natural foods and juices. The owner, Lisa Harris, carried the philosophy of food for medicinal purposes (right up my ally). Food that has low acidity and will lower inflammation in the body. I knew what I wanted when I arrived, what I didn't know is that Lisa carried some of my absolute favorites behind the counter as readied ingredients for juice drinks. Items like turmeric. Most of us know that turmeric is an ingredient found in curries, but what you may not know is that turmeric is an anti-inflammatory, increases antioxidant capacity and may improve reproductive and mental health...you see where I'm going with this? Maca (improves reproductive health, mood, skin and energy) and spiurlina (high in protein and antioxidants) also makes a delightful presence as drink boosters. I had the Beet It in a 12oz with extra ginger (you can opt for more or less of something to suit your taste). Everything tasted fresh and wholesome. The icing on the proverbial cake was the service. The mother of the owner mans the counter on Saturdays, with a couple of friends in tow. She was extremely accommodating...on top of personable. She told me the owner has plans to expand and host more events. This only made me more eager to return. Note: 1. You can create your own mix with the ingredients on hand. 2. Has a daily soup. 3. Add Maca to your drink, I heard all the boys come in for re-up pretty often. 4. 34th Street is filled with vegan/herbal/gluten free shops

I love The Waterhole. Great juice selection and amazing staff. My favorite juices are the Carrot Kicker and Leaf Lover.

a friend recommended this juice bar and i was really pleased with my selections. i enjoyed both the smoothie and pressed juice. the staff was also friendly. make sure to pay the meter or park in the lot. i thought i'd be in and out quickly, so i didn't pay the meter. i wasn't inside longer than 10 minutes and came out to a ticket.

I think this place has greater potential. Especially since it is the only spot for coffee on the block. I only knew this because I asked neighboring stores as it was not advertised in the front. The juices look delish and I adored the pictures for sale of Cuba in the wall. Having someone skilled in design for the interior and exterior will heighten this store's charm and appeal. Coffee was pretty good although not served hot enough. I'll go back and try the juices I've heard only good things about.

Hand craved wood table to rest your juices, smoothies, and raw foods on. Great for cozy group session.

Somehow, I had only been to this place during the winter time, but it is a completely different vibe during the warmer months. The outdoor space is stunning, and everything just feels brighter and happier. The staff are really nice, the patrons are enjoying themselves, and they just have excellent food. My friend and I happen to come during this fashion show event so there were complimentary hors d'oeuvres for everybody present, but we still ordered delicious deviled eggs (I could've eaten a whole tray of them) and had some great cocktails. You know, for the first time ever, I paid attention to a bunch of board games that they have on a shelf. But based on the stuff that's on the shelf in front of them, I am not 100% sure that they are up for grabs, but it still looks cool. Anyone who is in this area should definitely pay them a visit. Also, I had previously visited this restaurant for happy hour and found the food and service to be average.

The sweet potato/chili/pistachio bialy is quite a creation, really like it, zings big time. I've never seen that flavor combo in a bialy before and hope they keep making it. I got pancakes without blueberries, 1 egg, and bacon. Everything is a la cart. I was expecting Big Box pancakes. These were anything but! They were perfectly cooked with a light crisp, very dense but airy. Vanilla sewn in each bite. They were THICK too. I was pleasantly surprised. Initially thought the price was exorbitant but the taste and appeal made up for it. Eggs were scrambled to perfection and seasoned too. I requested salt before I tasted them. So glad I didn't add any. Bacon was regular nothing major to rotate. Now the Sakura Latte wasn't as pretty as the one on Insta but it was delicious none the less. Not sweet but no earthy either. Cherry after taste but smooth due to the milk. I did add a sugar free vanilla syrup. The Cafe is beautiful. Contemporary and masculine furniture with feminine accompaniment due to the vast windows and pillows that let in a lot of natural light. Its definitely worth a stop if you're near. I schlepped to DC for a Yelp event that afternoon and decided to wifi nearby. I knew Zeke's from trying them once in Lauraville, Baltimore City, 6 months earlier in July 2024. See my 5-star review of the Baltimore one written in August 2025. The coffee drink I got was very good. My main issue was the barista was unfriendly like asking him a couple of menu questions was inconvenient for him. It was a bit crowded, but I managed to find a seat and do some work. I could see why it would be crowded, the drinks are good, and it was an Arctic icebox outside that day; it was the only warm business on this block one could hang out for a while. The mood was somber in there as I overheard people talking about you know who's inauguration just 2 days earlier. If the barista had been friendly, they would've gotten either a 4 or 5-star, but it kind of soured my experience with this location.

I was surprised, since it's a huge departure from the sugary, syrupy concoctions offered in most malls, airports, and coffee shops. The real star here is the price, though.
