Jaime, my server, was exceptional and super friendly as she kept checking in on me throughout my meal. I ordered calamari and a small pizza. She questioned my decision as maybe I needed something larger. Who are you kidding? The small pizza was a 14 inch pie with 8 slices for lil' ol' me!! Now I understood her question as in order a slice or two!! Regardless, the pizza was extraordinary and definitely had that stretched dough and hand toss feel and taste to it; fluffy yet strong enough to handle my carnivore toppings. The calamari... ay marron! First time I had it that didn't taste like it came from a pack of frozen bits. It tasted fresh and lightly coated and fried golden brown with a serving of home made marinara sauce. Red Rose is an Italian kitchen serving up the standard fares most folks are accustomed to, but I came here for the pie and left with a box to feed me for the next two days. Great place for locals and a pleasant experience for those visiting Springfield.

Their pizza is way better than most pizza around here, so I think it's well worth the price. Staff was lovely, atmosphere and amenities are bright, clean, awesome. But... You can't redo the whole place, build a nice bar, put beer and wine signs everywhere, and then charge $7 for a Bud Light, $12 for a Jess, and $21 yes, $21 for a Tito's and soda. You're playing the short game. This is a neighborhood with working class families that would love to splurge and support your business - please consider that bar prices aren't listed and when they come on a tab and are double standard pricing it feels predatory. It was garlicky but not too much and there was a LOT of cheese. We brought home a steak and cheese for my spouse and even though it took a while to get back home with it, it traveled well. They even offered to keep it warm in the back until we were ready to leave. There's one table that we could see inside and a few outside, so I'm guessing they do more take-out than eat-in, but it would be worth it to go even if we ended up having to take it home.
