First time visiting was Friday night and it was crowded, the host said there was a 30 minute wait for food after seating, so we left. The next day for lunch it was less crowded so we stayed. Service: Friendly and attentive. Server was fun and knowledgable. Lunch buy on get one free is no longer availabe after the renovation. Restroom: Clean, no odor. 1 urinal, 1 of 2 toilet stalls did not have toilet paper. Food: -Ninja sushi roll was good. deep fried and fresh -Mixed tempura appetizer. two beans, sweet potato, zuchinni, onion, carrot and 3 shrimp. A little greasy but good. -Hawaiian poke bowl. We visited Ninja Sushi today and we had a wonderful time. We were quickly seated and attended by friendly staff. Our food was prepped & brought to our table in a timely manner. Our appetizers and entrees were freshly made & hot. Flavor was spot on. We also ordered sushi and it was so delicious! We ordered beef teriyaki bowls & crispy chicken for my kids. We also ordered spicy orange chicken, beef yakisoba noodles, stuffed jalapeños, shrimp & veggie tempura. For our sushi we ordered Cali rolls, mango go go & crunch dragon. She didn't come to check on us on her own. 2. We had to flag her down for everything, even another waitress... she acted as if were inconveniencing her ... Tasty rolls and Sushi. Loved the Mango Go Go (deep fried shrimp, crabmeat, avocado, cucumber inside and topped with fresh mango and spicy tuna. My dining companion ordered the Rainbow Roll that's filled with crabmeat, avocado, and cucumber and topped with 4 pieces of fish (salmon, ebi, tuna, and ahi)ahimsa. And the Unagi was good too but 2nd piece was a little chewy. The Sexy Tomoyo was an afterthought, and it took quite a while to be delivered. The restaurant did have several parties come in while we were there, so no doubt people know the food is good. Best sushi I've had in a long time. I used to live in San Diego and I'm half-Japanese, so I'm pretty picky when it comes to sushi--but this place blew me away. Everything was incredibly fresh and just melted in my mouth. I ordered a simple tuna and avocado roll topped with salmon, plus miso soup, seaweed salad, and inari sushi. The rice was cooked perfectly--just the right texture, not overdone. The inari was also fresh and flavorful. Service was excellent. Everyone was polite and attentive, and the sushi chefs were super accommodating--they even asked detailed questions about how my dad wanted his poke bowl made. We spent about $63 for five items, which felt very affordable considering the quality--honestly better than most sushi spots in San Diego. The facilities were spotless, the music had great bass, and there were TVs everywhere. I'll definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again. 10/10 recommend! read more

Let me note why I only gave 4 stars above instead of 5. I would have liked to give 4.5 stars, but that is not an option. I've been a long-time customer of Ninja Sushi. Mostly because my wife really likes the place. It's not my preferred type of food, but I like it well enough. I took my mom and my wife there yesterday for lunch. The place was busy, but not packed. There was one person waiting for some reason, but we were seated right away. **** The service was slightly above mediocre, but our server told us they were a trainee. Considering that, it was decent. ** Food service was insanely slow. It was 40 minutes from when we ordered until our first dish came out of the kitchen, and one dish was well over an hour. Our main entrees came out before our appetizers, and none of our dishes came out together. To be clear this was likely the kitchen and not the serving staff. ***** The food was excellent. They have always had decent food, but this was better than that. Not only was it excellent quality and flavor, but the presentation was spectacular. Okay, maybe that is over stating, but the plates as served looked like they could have been used as the models for menu pictures. Like somebody might find from a chef aspiring to gain a Michelin star. I'm not kidding really. **** Price was a little on the high side compared to their old pricing with two appetizers and three entree's running just under a hundred dollars. (September 2025) On the other hand everything everywhere is expensive these days. I don't really begrudge the price given the quality. I just figured it deserved a mention. **** I was told that sometime back a car went through their building, and they had to rebuild and remodel. The setting and ambiance is very nice. Maybe to many TVs for a lunch place. More in line with a sport's bar, but more and more places are going that way. They did a wonderful job of rebuilding the place. I suppose if I didn't have an appointment it made me late for, or if it was a dinner experience instead of a lunch experience I might have rated it differently, but I think I was fair. We walked in about 1:15pm and left about 2:50 with me asking my mom to box her lunch before she was completely finished, so that I could make my appointment only a little late. I was not expecting an extended 3 martini lunch. Just a modest in and out with plenty of time to spare. (No, we didn't have alcoholic drinks.) Overall, I really enjoyed my lunch as did my wife. My mom also said it was really good. My biggest criticism is about their efficiency. They need to hire a top notch chef and restaurant manager for atleast a short time to teach them how to improve their work flow. Seating seemed a little chaotic with multiple servers serving the same areas of the restaurant and the kitchen obviously not able to manage work flow efficiently. I guess ultimately the question is would I go back. Of course I would. The food has always been good, and on our last visit it was even better than that. Yes, I will be going back. read more

I absolutely love coming here. I come here every Friday with my partner and we always get seated very quickly. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff is amazing. We have been coming here for about a month and now we've never had any issues. The new renovations are very open and friendly and more welcoming to a lot of of the people in the area.. If you're looking for a sushi place, definitely come here and grab some food. The other options on the menu are also delicious as well. Customers weren't getting the correct orders and the staff was getting flustered and upset. The Crunch Spice Tuna Roll had a lot of spicy tuna; i wish it had more crunch but still was good. The Udon has cabage, carrots and udon noodles in a savory broth.
