Needle Creek Farm Brewery is one of those places that makes you slow down the moment you pull in…read more You're not walking into a polished taproom in an industrial park -- you're stepping onto a real working farm, and that's very much the point. The barn itself is beautiful in that honest, weathered way. Big old beams, lots of natural light, and plenty of space to spread out. We grabbed a flight and headed outside, where you can sit at picnic tables, watch the cows, and just take in the quiet. It feels rural without feeling remote -- a great change of pace. The beer is solid across the board. Nothing felt rushed or gimmicky. The IPA was bright and easy to drink, the blonde was clean and refreshing, and the darker beers had depth without being heavy. Knowing they grow their own barley on site and brew on a traditional system somehow makes it all taste a little better. What really sticks with you is the experience. You can smell hay, hear the animals, feel the breeze -- this isn't a themed "farm-style" brewery, it's the real thing. It's relaxed, unpretentious, and genuinely welcoming. Staff were friendly and happy to talk beer without hovering. It's also a great spot to bring family or friends who aren't hardcore beer people. There's room to wander, things to look at, and a general store next door if you want to take something home. If you're looking for flashy hype beers, this might not be your place. But if you want good beer, a beautiful setting, and a reminder that craft brewing can still feel grounded and human, Needle Creek is well worth the trip.

Plenty of parking, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating (including a huge and gorgeous rustic but chic barn where the taps are), plenty of space for little kids to run around and plenty of farm animals for them to check out. My girlfriend and I visited on a Sunday afternoon in November on a picture perfect fall day. Clear skies, cool temps, live music, pleasantly full but not obnoxiously crowded . Everything about this place is five stars... except for the beer. Three stars at best. Eight beers on tap plus one seltzer so between us we tried most of the menu. It was all pretty average. I was going to complain about the Midnight Hayride, which is a stout, thinking they must have a weird interpretation of what a stout can be, because the beer we were given did not look or taste anything like a stout. But I looked at their website just now with a picture of their stout, and it turns out we were just flat out given the wrong beer in our flights. It's a shame we didn't get to try that one. Overall I recommend this as a great place to take the kids and spend an afternoon. Come here for the atmosphere but don't make a pilgrimage for the beer.

They recently acquired MD brewery DuClaw as well and continue to brew their beers and distribute under the same name. They distribute widely across NJ, PA, NY so it's pretty easy to find at liquor stores and restaurants, and I've had their beers many times over the years. Their beer is pretty solid with some fun and inventive offerings. My girlfriend and I stopped into their taproom for the first time on a Sunday afternoon and it was quite possibly the worst taproom we've ever been to out of 80+ NJ breweries we have visited together. It looks like they concentrate all of their time and effort on production and distribution and have not spent any time creating a decent place to hang out. Almost no decor. All plastic cups (a personal pet peeve of mine in breweries). Not even a permanent bar of any kind. There were only four other people the whole time we were there so the atmosphere was pretty dead. We ordered flights, and the names of the beers were written in abbreviations right on the cups which made it impossible to read on the darker beers. But the beer was very good! We really enjoyed our flights and bought a six pack of the imperial pumpkin ale to bring home with us. We'll continue to drink their beer, but I don't recommend coming to the taproom at all.

I will stop in on occasion to fill a growler or grab some cans to go but would not want to spend any time here. A basic remodel would change the game or at a minimum a cleaning and fresh coat of paint wouldn't hurt either.

New Hope was a wonderful choice -and the salt house made it incredible with such a delicious lunch. I chose this place because I knew it was an amazing setting, and I expected decent food. But the food, each dish, blew us away. I thought the prices were quite reasonable. Fish chowder? Wonderful. What I thought would be an ordinary wedge blue cheese salad? Literally the best I've ever had. They're in-house burger? You haven't lived until you had it.

Each time we return I am met with a 1-2 star review feeling based on cost / billing / and service I just can't shake. Go for the food. Stay because you get left for untold amount of time. Service is slow. We've been there 4 times and 1 time service was amazing. This last time we went, we were sat a table that was not a dinner table. I think it was an ill sized coffee table with a table cloth on it. The adults knees were above the table and the kids were sat in a couch that hit the floor. No mention or thought was given to who was sitting in this ridiculous makeshift table. Finally and the reason I was compelled to write a review - watch your bill. You have to put a downpayment down for reservations and 1x I went this was not deducted from my bill - I should have checked of course before I left, but last time I did not and had to go back and forth a few times to get my money back. And finally, soft drinks / lemonade. Glasses are small, packed with ice and when the server asks "do you want another drink" - he doesn't mention it will be nearly 5 dollars for minute maid lemonade. When you are (gladly) spending nearly 30 dollars for a burger to then have to spend 5 bucks a soft drink that is clearly understood as a free refill is a bummer. Hunched over celebrating my birthday this year - hit with a silly bill $20+ in lemonade - left to sit with no check in for a silly amount of time. There are some small changes to service and experience that would make this place a true 5 star event.
