I've ordered here twice on door dash. Both times the food was Eh. I Will say I DO appreciate their operation hours.

I keep driving by this place wondering what the hell it is. It was always open late at night when I got home. First I thought it was some coffee shop or some whore house lol. Then one day after I hit the gym, I decided to check it out. It ended up being a coffee shop that served Mediterranean food and hookah. It seemed like a chill spot to hang out since the hours of operation were from 5pm-3am. Most of the time I drive by there's usually just cabbies out there hanging out. When I got in I was greeted by a friendly couple. I asked them what their best sandwich was and they recommended me the chicken shawarma sandwich. It came with grilled chicken with parsley and tahini sauce in pita bread. The lady who served me was very nice, she asked me if I wanted anything to drink and she got me a bottle of water free of charge. The sandwich took awhile to make, but had tons of meat and was well flavored. If you're craving a cup of coffee late at night, just drop by this place. read more

FOOD POISONING. DO NOT EAT HERE. I wish I had looked at all of the reviews instead of just seeing the average rating of 4 stars. The good reviews only mention taste, but MULTIPLE 1 star reviews mention unsanitary conditions, health code violations, and food poisoning. I worked a long day the day I ordered from Nile Cafe, I had no other food in me - after ordering and consuming part of Nile Cafe's chicken platter, I almost immediately had an onset of mild food poisoning symptoms. These symptoms persisted and eventually escalated to some of the worst food poisoning I've ever had - lasting FOUR DAYS and ruining my entire workweek and the weekend trip I had planned. I mean it - this was some BAD stuff. I'm on DAY SIX and I'm just now slowly able to add solid food back into my diet. I can tell you right now that I will not be eating chicken or Mediterranean food anytime soon because I am that physically repulsed by it now. I'd like to point out that this restaurant is WELL aware of their negative reviews and has been called out by customers for multiple concerns and health code violations and clearly seems to be hiding these complaints and disregarding them all together. I hate to be a downer but I honestly didn't like this place. You first walk in and the guys look at you like your from another planet. Not cool. Why even hire a guy who doesn't speak very good English to request our hookah. Oh and they only accept cash!! Wth!! Lol at least have a sign! This place is a cool spot if you want some late night eats and/or hookah. The manager is really nice and chill. Super inviting to his customers. He cooks and everything and the food isn't skimp either. Came in at around 12:30am and there were still people there enjoying the Long Beach night. The hookah flavor we used was Sex on the Beach, it was a good flavor, wish I have known they had 69 I would have preferred that instead. The kitchen doesn't close until 3am and they are open until 5am. To me those are some insane hours. But if your bored and don't know what to do at night, should come here and spend some time. Wow. How does word not get around about this place's hours?? Open every day til 5 am, food til 3am? Perfect for those nights when you get home and are still wide awake. No tomato or parsley, two of the 4 ingredients listed. The chicken is mixed in some hummus-like paste. Half-limp lettuce. Sandwich falls apart. - Beef Shawarma sandwich: same as above. I was a bit skeptical about ordering food from a Hookah lounge. We had their chicken , beef and beef kabob sandwiches on pita bread. As well as their mango and strawberry smoothies. I didn't like or dislike their sandwiches. I feel that there's way too much lettuce opposed to the meat ratio. Our sandwiches were overly double wrapped with pita bread. I'm not sure if that's their normal? The flavors are a bit bland as well. As for the mango and strawberry smoothies .. I would not recommend. It's been sitting unpublished in my drafts: I have a feeling this is the type of place you're not supposed to see in the daytime, or with the lights on. Got a glimpse of the kitchen and I was horrified, so many potential health code violations. We were starving tho and decided to just order one falafel sandwich to-go. The sandwich ended up being too gross to eat so we threw it away went to another cafe. In the seating area there was cigarette ash everywhere. The decor is lacking, but there is plenty of seating. Its my first time here with a few friends, we came from Alhambra to try it out. Totally worth the drive. The food is also priced well for the amount you get. I'm rating this place with 5 stars simply because of the shisha. I've lived in the Middle East for four years and smoking shisha (what I know it to be, Americans call it hookah) is a very big deal. This place has Al-Fakur which is the brand that I'm used to and it's as close as I've gotten to my time in the Middle East at any state side Shisha (Hookah) Bar. It's ten dollars flat, no tax and you can mix flavors. Starbuzz (which gives no buzz at all) is $15 dollars. I didn't order food but it all looks really familiar and delicious, maybe one day I'll give it a try. This place can be a bit misleading. Had dinner in Long Beach and was looking for a good place to smoke. Since the reviews were so high we decided to try Nile. Boy were were in for a surprise! The pictures and flyers for Nile are definitely misleading. It looks more lounge-y when advertised. This place is just a small modest restaurant with an outside smoking patio. The patio itself looks very DIY, home-made, etc. Coals are burned on a bbq grill, so I was a little put off at first. However, the owner was VERY approachable, humble, inviting, and overall a nice guy. I asked him for a rose mint, and he kinda looked at me like people usually don't mix flavors there. The place probably offered the best hookahs I've ever smoked. SO GOOD. Trust-- and with tea and dessert (baklava), the patio begins to grow on to you. You forget about the decor altogether.
