I love Nikki's. I have been stopping in for years even after I no longer live in Bloomington. Natalie and Kevin are kind and do their best to give you exactly what you want. That being said, I had to drive the distance so Natalie could do my wedding nails today. Absolutely love them and they turned out better than expected. Another thing I like about Nikki's is the atmosphere. They only take appointments post Covid and it is just them two now; so no waits and no loud, over stimulating crowds to yell over to communicate with your stylist. I recently started going here after I moved to the westside. They are appointment only, and there's only ever one other person getting their nails done at the same time as you, so it's a very intimate, calm experience. I've been other places where a lot of the college students come in groups of 4 or 5 at a time (sorority sisters) and it's just not an enjoyable experience. Not a problem here! They have a nice selection of gel colors, not many brighter shades, though. Lots of neutrals, browns, etc. I will be honest, sometimes it is a little painful getting my previous gel removed. He uses a semi-sharp edged thing to try to remove it. I really don't enjoy it actually. Makes me grimace just thinking about it. But I suck it up because you can't really beat the price. They're professional, friendly, and prompt. I still have my gel pedi from about a month ago and it's looking great. Moral of the story I'm always happy at the end of the appointment. read more

I came in for an acrylic fill with gel polish and it was one of the worst manicures I've ever gotten. It was so painful, the man doing my nails cut me with the dremel multiple times, and drilled into my real nails and burnt me. The end results with super bumpy and uneven, they weren't even shaped right. I typically go up to Indy to get my nails done but I was looking for a place in Bloomington to go to. read more

I just moved to Bloomington from Southern California and have been looking for a good nail salon. This was the WORST EXPERIENCE I've ever had in the 25 years I've been getting my nails done! The man was extremely heavy handed with the dremel tool and kept burning me with the heat. He could have cared less that he was hurting me! Came here to get my gel nails re done. It was Thursday, around 540. They were relatively busy. I was seated right away and out the door in 30 minutes. Total cost was $15 for a gel re do, not a full manicure (as stated on the website). Had 3 people work on me. One for gel removal, another to clean and shape, another to apply the gel. Definitely do not recommend going on a Sunday. Only has 1-2 people working. Works spend a lot of time talking even when they have customers waiting. I've been to numerous locations around Bloomington for my acrylic manicure and I must say I'm a regular at Nikki Nails and this is by far my favorite place to get my nails done. They always give me exactly what in looking for. I've never left here unhappy with their work. Other locations rush and charge too much for simple work, whereas Nikki Nails have reasonable prices and wait times. Ask for Natalie or Kevin, the owners, very nice people and service! I've come here a few times with no problem. But this past Friday I wanted a gel manicure for a wedding I was attending the next day. The man didn't say a word and just yanked my hand every time he wanted it. He was only going to do one coat of polish originally (which would look HORRIBLE) but I asked for a second one. When he was done he mumbled something in a heavy accent and all I understood was what I THINK was "cash". I took my wallet out of my purse and he walked away to go talk to a coworker. Over 5 minutes later he came back (I'm still holding my wallet to pay him) and he gets angry saying "Why you no pay?! This not free, you know!" I handed him my card and he quickly snatched it from my hand before going to run it. It is now only 5 days later and the gel is already peeling off. I am not one to get my nails done. But my dad and step mom gave me a gift certificate for here. I walked in and was greeted very nicely. But I had to wait an entire hour and a half at least to get my nails started. I asked for a full set and a women started on them. Everything was going fine until she started being short with me when I tried to have a conversation and was VIGOROUSLY filing my nails. Before she painted them, she realized I was paying with a gift certificate and immediately stopped caring about my nails at all she had me pay and I tipped her TEN DOLLARS. After she painted my nails and I left, I noticed how BOTCHED my nails were. They are all different lengths and they're completely uneven and do not look natural like I wanted at all. WORST LOOKING NAILS IN BLOOMINGTON. I was in the area of Nikki Nails and I needed a fill so I decided to give it a shot. Worst decision I've made in the 6 months I've lived in Bloomington. My natural nails are butchered from the mans heavy hand with the dremel. The polish is uneven. They are all different shapes and different lengths and they are LUMPY. The acrylic is so uneven. I recently moved to Bloomington from Indy and was searching the world over for a place to get good gel nails at a reasonable price. I found a hidden gem in Indy and was worried I'd never find a replacement. The staff at Nikki Nails have been awesome every single time I've been in and my gels last for up to 2 weeks and stay looking great. I downloaded this app just to write a review about this absolutely horrible place. I've never in my life had a worse pedicure. Beyond messy all over my toes not just my nails. The actual pedicure was also painful. The man is very rough. There is only 2 workers every day of the week. I have been here for over 3 hours just for a pedicure that takes 20 minutes. They get up and leave after each step instead of just doing your mani/pedi and help other customers because they have only 2 workers. I am appalled with how bad the service and pedicure turned out. I walked in and there were two workers and 2 women getting pedicures and 1 getting a manicure. I assumed my wait would be max 20 minutes. They then seated the group that walked in just before me. The woman finished the acrylics and immediately started on pedicures. So both workers were doing pedicures. I sat there for an entire hour waiting to get just fill in. She finally put me in a seat where I thought she would start on my nails but she left to start another pedicure. This was 10 am on a Wednesday, not a busy time. I finally just got up and left because I was tired of other people walking and getting seated in a pedicure chair immediately. So if you need a pedicure, you'll get right in and out. If you're getting your nails done, make sure you have all day to wait! Never in my entire life have I waited one hour to get started at a nail salon. The guy who did my nails was very friendly but he did a terrible job. As I was getting my nails done a lot of people started to come in and he started to rush and didn't pay attention to what he was doing. I have nail polish all over the sides of my fingers and my nails are crooked and were filed terribly. Then, when I was done I got told it would be $20 when the board said that a fill (what I had done) is $18. Also, they obviously had a uv nail dryer and I was told to sit and hold my hands under the light above the nail station for 15 minutes instead of using the actual dryer. Shocker, my nails didn't get dry at all and messed up as soon as I left. I'll definitely never go back to this salon. read more

I went to Nikki Nails for a full set; they are closer to my home, and a co-worker recommended them. The tech was quite rough, in spite of the fact that I told her she was hurting me. Within a few days I could see that the nails were not glued correctly, and the edges began lifting. In addition, my nails had a weird hump in them. When I needed a fill in, I went elsewhere, and the tech showed me everything that had been done incorrectly (the humps were caused by too much powder). I should have just had them redone completely at the new place, but I wanted to save some $. Well, last night one of my nails peeled off completely, and with very little trouble I took the rest off. I was running some errands and had some time so I thought that I would get my nails done. I have some friends that rave about the place so I thought I would give it a shot. It was horrible! First I signed in and was told to sit. The girl started working on my nails and then walked away. I thought she went to get something but never returned. SHE WENT TO LUNCH AMD JUST LEFT ME SITTING THERE!!! a few minutes later a guy sits down, attaches my tips, files my nails...AND THEN HE JUST GOES TO LUNCH! WTF!! So then "Kevin" tells me to come to his station. I sit and he starts filing some more, causing over filing of my nails since the previous guy had already done it and kept burning me where he would just leave the file down. He was very rough and rude! My nail beds are bruised today so i cant get them removed and redone. He was not paying attention at all. I told him repeatedly I did not want squared nails. I got square. He was messy with the acrylic leaving it on my cuticles and fingers. The paint job looked like my 8 year did it. My nails were chunky were they weren't buffed properly. They didnt care as long as they got paid. I won't be returning ever again. Guess that's what I get for trying a new place. read more
