First, the people who work here are super friendly! I don't usually care about that kind of stuff (in fact, I usually prefer when no one greets me and I'm just left alone), but I wanted to comment on the customer service, because I was greeted immediately, and then left alone to browse. I love that! The store has both men and women's clothing, mostly workout clothes and some clothes that you can work out in that don't look like workout clothes. Honestly, this place is a little too rich for my blood, price wise. I need clothing that I don't have to worry about ruining because inevitably, it will be thrown into the washing machine and blasted with high heat from the dryer. I don't want to baby a $150 yoga top. But, if the yoga-pants fairy ever paid me a visit and gave me a gift card to a place, I would want one from Vuori.

Not a single person greeted me - ever. I continued to look through the men's section for 10 minutes or so. No contact. Another gentleman came in with an exchange and was immediately assisted. New employees emerged from the back room - still no one said a word to me. Again - I'm the only person in the store. Finally decided to leave - headed over to Lululemon, found similar alternatives to the Vuori items I was looking for - spent ~$980. Also went down to Nordstrom and actually found a couple of the Vuori items in the men's section there and spent another $526. Needless to say, not a good experience and will probably not be returning soon.

You know, the kind of jacket that you bond with and becomes your identity. I was attached to the damn thing. Anyway, I tried shopping on line, but it's difficult to tell the material and thickness of a clothing item unless you actually feel it. So, I was happy to find a brick and mortar option dedicated to Northface. Anyway, a clerk was welcoming and offered to help me. They had lots of heavy, hiking jackets. But not what I was looking for. The clerk told me I could find more options on line. Dang. So I left empty handed and disappointed. But the store is nice if you are looking for Artic wear. Prices are high, but the clothes wear well and are constructed beautifully. Visit mid week, to find easy parking and no crowds.

Caveat - I HATE shopping and I HATE raincoats - so was not looking forward to the trip. However, Jocelyn made our shopping experience painless - she was knowledgeable and very friendly. She showed me the options and explained how each were different. She allowed us to chat but checked back frequently enough that we felt taken care of. Raincoat and a sweet water bottle carrier secured - perfect for our hikes, trips, and concert season. Is it cheap? Nope. But I feel you get what you pay for. My hubs has had his same North Face rain jacket for almost 15 years, and he swears by North Face rain gear for the quality. Jocelyn also explained that all of their products are guaranteed against manufacturers defects for life - so you just have to bring it in and they will replace it. Sweet. Also, while it might be boring to some, I like that the styles and colors never really go out of style with tNF. I have had most of my tNF pieces since college and they are still kicking (shout out to my first Denali!). Of note, if it has been a minute since you have visited The North Face in the Fashion Mall, they are now in a smaller space upstairs - no longer beside the Apple Store space on the first floor.

Especially when…read moreyour day has been especially luxurious, and especially when the yoga shorts are only $10! What a steal. I had no idea that Yoga Democracy had sales like they do. Look for the two racks at the front of the store that have clothing for 60% and 80% off. Even if you don't find something on the sales racks, you'll probably find something at this yoga clothing store. Yoga Democracy (or YD Athleisure) has lots of yoga leggings, sports bra tops, yoga shorts and even jackets and hair accessories. The thing that makes Yoga Democracy stand apart from other yoga clothiers is that their designs and patterns are wild. Think leggings with Frida Kahlo faces on them, tops with images of a raven sitting on top of skulls, shorts with a galaxy across the butt. Probably 75% of the patterns are way too out-there for me, but they do have solids and some more tame patterns. I gravitate toward those. The shorts I got are a marbly, astral-looking subdued pattern, and I love them so much. They are soft and supremely comfortable, they're made from recycled plastic, and they fit perfectly. I've already worn them to a yoga class, and they are just what I want in a piece of yoga clothing. I'm looking forward to going back to YD to get some more pieces. The people who work here are super friendly and helpful! They are ready to help if needed, but also leave you alone to browse. And bonus (for me): The woman who rang me up was from Orange County, California! It's so nice to meet other people from the OC.

This location is EXTREMELY racist, this is my second time in this store specifically and the first…read moretime I came in I had a bad experience, I went into a dressing room that was open and there was no attendants around this girl literally ran in there whispering to another worker did you see what she went in there with, I walked out and asked where she went and showed the two items I went in with. Not ALL AFRICAN AMERICAN people steal! I had already purchased a $200 jacket from here and was bringing it back because it didn't fit so I wanted to try on a size bigger. I come back today to pick up an online order and get purchased items from here taken it. Mind you I called yesterday and confirmed they take bottoms in at the waist so I'm in the fitting room getting "altered" and the young lady says I don't think we take in just hem so I advised her I called yesterday and they confirmed they did so she goes and asks another worker who confirms yes they just have to send them in for that so I'm like that's fine. As I'm getting taken in a "manager" walks over and says we don't do alternations and taking them in is an alteration so in I'm standing there irritated and confused thinking isn't a hem also an alternation? So I asked her why are different employees saying different things and she says "I haven't come to that consensus yet". Before all this even happened I watched another worker stop a Black woman and her daughter who had just made a purchase because the security system went off on the door, mind you the door had been going off non-stop without patrons coming in or out we all kept looking at the door like why does it keep going off. A few minutes later the door goes off again on a group of non-Black people and the same worker is standing there hanging stuff up and didn't bother to ask them "can I check your items to make sure a sensor isn't still attached". This will be my last time coming to this racist location, I love the brand and will probably continue to order online but this location needs some sensitivity training especially since you employ BLACK people as workers. Stop letting your white-privilege show when you work in retail!!

Except this animal-named site charging triple the price, and that sketchy resale/auction site with different sellers and mostly shipping from China - no way! Then I found Englin's Fine Footwear after days of searching. I was nervous, never heard of them. Turns out they're a local Indianapolis company. They had three sizes left; my daughter's an 8.5, but coworkers said to size down. They had an 8. I was so happy, I ordered them after agonizing over whether the site and shoes were legit. I opened them right away - real Uggs, perfect quality! But then I worried they'd be too small. Everything I searched said to size up, and they were sold out by this time! I emailed customer service, freaking out, asking if they'd get more. They weren't sure but said I could return them within 365 days. Christmas morning, they fit perfectly! After dazzling them up, she wore them all day, then all day again last weekend. She says they're super comfy, no sore feet. It's her first pair of Uggs, and I think she's hooked. It's a small store but they have it all, including the very latest styles and brands. Only shoe type they don't carry is women's dress shoes (high heels). It is the BEST store to go to if you have foot troubles; they have good recommendations & all the brands you see recommended online. Support this store; it's a gem and one of the last true good shoe stores.
