We decided to enjoy the vinyl music playing and cool AC inside instead. The space is dim-lit with such a chic and minimalist decor. The menu consists of various cocktails, but they were just okay. I had the Falling & Laughing ($19) while the husband had the Don Cherry ($21). The cocktails are pretty, although nothing all too special in taste. We only had one round and had to go elsewhere, so gotta try something else another time. While the cocktails we tried weren't all that impressive, the vibe is really nice here.

Being that I was at an event, the sound level was pretty high. Not sure if it is quieter in here other evenings. Would come back!

I'm not sure how this happened because I'm always mindful (and demure ) of the places I go and religiously wash my hands when I get home. BUT after narrowly avoiding death, my friends decided to celebrate my full recovery, and life in general, by dragging me to Jupiter Disc, last night. I'm not sure what the cover was because my friend paid for tickets in advance. For a dive bar, it's quite spacious it was compared to similar spots, which are usually smaller and have you stuffed like you're inside a tin can of sardines. Don't get me wrong, it's not huge but roomie enough to get your dance on without stepping on someone else's shoes. It's also super clean and has proper air ventilation... if you're into that sort of thing. The light fixture in the middle of the ceiling... should I call it a centerpiece? is impressive as well. I've seen many LED fixtures over the years. This is amongst my favorites. Another win of Jupiter Disco: on a cold, January night they had an adequate number of bartenders. Something other places struggle with. I can only speak to the cocktail I had and it was wonderful: Professional Widow ( Tequila + Lemon + Ginger + Cardamom + Blackberry Balsamic). I had a few of those and they were all made to perfection. My friends ordered other drinks but they said everything was to their liking. The DJ - For Future's Sake: Just wanted to drop a quick additional note about the DJ, For Future's Sake. Each time I hear his sets I become more and more impressed. His ability to mix top 40 hits with obscure and niche dance and EDM tracks together is unmatched. Shoutout to him for keeping the vibes pretty epic last night.

It was closing. It's a bar. It's a club. It's a getaway. It's an escape. It has different themed rooms for your mood. All in one. Not to mention they're confession wall. Despite it being extremely popular. Having themed rooms, with drinks to go in each themed room, and a variety of different music--- New York City doesn't know how to keep anything original, and apparently is building more luxury, housing. We don't want luxury, housing. We want unique places, and affordable housing. However, is someone in the news, I'm well aware that. Sadly this is going on despite they're being plenty of a abandoned warehouses, or open spaces to build apartments rather than a business. As you can tell I'm upset. If this place manages to hang in there, I'd love it. If they can relocate, I'd love that as well. So fingers crossed. This is a gem.

We sat in a room that was like a sleepaway camp room, a room that was like a campsite and a room made of wood? Kinda fun to walk around with a drink and explore different areas. The bartenders were super friendly and the place was definitely a cool vibe. They seem to have some kind of bao truck / food stand inside that seems cool, but didn't get a chance to try it. I think things change at night, so would come back and check it out again!

Invitation accepted! Bae and I pulled up on a Wed around 6:30 and it was way too soon as we were practically the only people there. We wasted no time in getting to the heart of the matter: wings and drinks. I had the Blueberry Mule a nonalcoholic spritzer with a ginger beer base, blueberries and lime with fresh rosemary. It was so refreshing I could've had 6. He had the Bust It Baby Bourbon with rye, grenadine, pineapple, orange, lemon, Demerara, angostura. He loved it! I ordered the Brown Butter Buffalo wings and he had lemon pepper. We shared an order of fries hot out the deep fryer with light seasoning and he added mozzarella sticks. We were happy to big back down everything but the mozzarella sticks which had no pull and were very dry. The service was immaculate. Our order was timely, drinks made to perfection and we got what we went there for . Good eats, great music and vibes. We had errands to run so we left and then came back shortly after 9:00 and could barely get on it was so packed. Overall, there's only one way to sum this place up- think Cheers but black-owned. Everyone knows each other by name and gives hugs and there appears to be a strong sense of community amongst staff and patrons. I'll be back real soon.

It makes sense since many people who are into natural wine also want somewhere to dance while drinking said natural wine. Because of this it's mostly people in their 30s, which is exactly what I'm looking for. The little backyard is perfect when you need a break from the dance floor, which gets really warm in there. The dance floor itself is kind of funny. It's small and weirdly has carpet, but they keep it so dark that you can really dance without feeling like anyone's watching. Everyone seems laid-back and dresses pretty casual. It's definitely not fancy, but it's perfect when you want to catch a deep house DJ. They don't have AC there in the summer so it gets hot hot hot in there.
