Characters walk by for photo ops and entertainment while you wait in line. NYPD staff is so fun and friendly. The house is for ages 12 and older, they allow younger ages at the parent's discretion. It so well done with jump scares in almost every room. It feels like a safe outing. Hours this year are 5pm to 11pm from Friday to Sunday. They let you in in small groups so you don't feel rushed. At the end, they sell Halloween themed souvenirs with NYPD and Fort Totten on them. I bought a Tshirt to support such an awesome event which is FREE to the community. We loved it and appreciated it!

There is always a "twist" on the best classic movies, but they've had themes like Monsters Inc. and Toy Story in the past. The themes are always changing and EVERY year is different. The trail takes about an hour to walk through but the scares start once you walk through the entryway! Characters will interact with you (but not touch) and the display of animatronics is a great way to start the night! There is a midway "stop" area to take photos, grab a snack and break up the groups of people that tend to get bunched together through the trail. Food is included in the price and it is buffet style for breakfast and lunch. Dinner is not but you are more than welcome to order more and take things to go. There's snacks available between lunch and dinner but there's also hot chocolate/coffee available all day long with some pastries. The only downside were the rooms. They are connected so if you have loud neighbors, you won't be getting good sleep. Overall, my kids loved the place and want to go back soon.
