Our family and friends were a group of nine people, and had a really great time at pure terror scream park. We were there October 27, arrived around 7 PM just when they open so as to avoid long lines and got in pretty quickly. The way it's set up is really great, and you move between individual buildings around the property. It is a super long haunted house! Make sure to wear good walking shoes. Each house has a different theme with different actors. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is a fan of this sort of thing, but I suggest you leave the young kids at home for this one. There is a lot of scary imagery and even some 18+ type stuff. I've worked in the entertainment industry on props for film and TV and can speak highly of the quality of the stuff in this amusement. If you're looking for haunted events in NYS, absolutely SKIP Pure Terror Scream Park. 90 minutes on one line, you finally get to admission, then another 2 hours of line waiting unless you upgrade your ticket at $35 extra apiece. The fuel fumes inside will choke you, and one "attraction" was nothing more than just walking in the dark while dysonant blaring music was playing. Unless you paid $45 extra per ticket, parking was at least half a mile away and required walking on an unlit road which was scarier than the park, and stupidly dangerous. The scariest thing about this experience was the line! I work at an attraction so I know how visitors/customers often exaggerate how long they've waited. I am not kidding when I say that it took me and my group of friends 2 hours & 45 minutes to enter the attraction from the time we joined the line - and we had purchased tickets in advance. We did go on a Saturday night but it was October 12, not close to Halloween. The line is one, very long, meandering affair and is truly a fire hazard. The entire line is surrounded by tall walls and the queue is made of wood fencing that is approximately 5 feet tall. God forbid there was a fire, you'd have hundreds (maybe several thousand) people trapped. There were no exit points once you joined the line. We were on the line for approximately 1hr & 15 minutes when we reached the security checkpoint. We assumed that we'd begin the experience after going through security. No, we simply went on the second part of the line that lasted 1hr & 30 minutes. When the staff member stationed near security said it would be another 90 minutes, I thought she was kidding. They do give you the option of joining an expedited line at this point for an additional $30 which brings the total to $100 per person! So, nearly 3 hours online and the only thing they provide to entertain folks are two, costumed actors, one of whom keeps making the same popping noise using a butane torch. No scary movies on TVs, not Halloween music etc. The "monster food court" mentioned on the website consisted of two locations, each made up of the same two carnival-type food trucks. The food was super overpriced but who cares since there was NO food left by the time we finished the experience at 1am. As for the haunted house experience itself, it was decent, if not overpriced. It took approximately 45-50 minutes to explore and I think $40 a person would have been fair. That said, the main problem was the ridiculous line. And because they shoved too many people in there, we often missed out on the "scare" because the actors surprised the group right in front of us. There is an easy solution for this massive problem - timed ticketing! If you can only accommodate 200 people per hour, sell 100 tickets for every 30 minute time slot. I imagine this company doesn't care as this is a temporary attraction, folding up camp like a traveling circus or snake oil salesman who comes to town, takes your money, and disappears. Living in Monroe, NY for the past 5 years I've heard so many great things about this place during the Halloween season. I decided to take my kids there this year and let's just say the hype wasn't all that. Don't get me wrong the graphics and animatronics were amazing!!! This was so much fun!!! Well worth the VIP tickets. We got the 7pm time slot and we're 2nd in line and they actually let us through around 6:45pm. The sets are amazing! The props were so realistic. Some places it was hard to tell if they were statues or actors. I did wish there were more actors to handle the sets vs 1 actor manning a couple of nearby sets. A few time we saw them jump out at the people ahead of us and then come back to jump out at us. It took away the scare factor. Also a warning, keep your distance from the people ahead of you so they get a chance to reset the scene. The 1st house we were too close to the people before and behind so the scares were triggered by them and we didn't see anything. Parking was not difficult to find, however, the walk from the parking area was quite long. After entering, there was an additional extended walk simply to reach the line, which was unnecessary. A designated barrier or direct access point would significantly improve the entry process. Security procedures were extremely strict and felt comparable to airport screening, requiring all items to be removed from pockets. Lighters and vapes were confiscated with no clear assurance they would be returned. It is understandable, but items were placed in a box near the exit, where people freely grabbed belongings, creating confusion and concern. I visited on a Saturday around 9:00PM, and the lines were very long. Considering the price, the entertainment was brief and lacked enthusiasm, and the staff showed minimal effort in engaging or creating a genuinely frightening atmosphere. Initially I would have given this place 5 stars. However, as I entered they took my vape saying I would get it back ( it's $100). Initially I thought they would hold onto it and ask for me to identify it. They threw them all in a plastic bin together (health hazard putting stuff people put in their mouths all in one container). I came out and the "security guard" did not have my vape in the bin (which was sitting out in the open) and was very rude and pretty much had an I don't care mentality. I would have given the initial 4 stars if he at least was kind and understanding. He even stated his job is too difficult to keep an eye on people's items (but took it from me without telling me what was going on). Wasn't apologetic for losing someone's property and hadn't warned me that it would be going in a plastic bin with other people's vapes and placed on a garbage can for anyone to grab at (even children). They also refused to get management or give a contact number to discuss what occurred stating "no one would care anyway." Kept telling me I needed to look it up myself. I wanted so badly to enjoy this place, but the end result was quite honestly one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences of my life. First of all, it cost $150 for two general admission tickets, but I figured that it would be worth it after reading all the good reviews and seeing that there are 13 haunted houses. Boy was I wrong. To start, we got there at 7:10, ten minutes after it opens. When you get there, you go to the back of a long, zig-zag maze line before getting to a security checkpoint. The line moved slow, but it seemed like once you got through that, then you'd be in. Nope. You wait in another long line--this one mostly straight--moving slowly until you reach another small building. This is where you got your ticket scanned, or you could upgrade to VIP (for $25 each). We chose not to do it because we already dropped $150 to come here. After getting our tickets scanned, we had already been in line for *90 minutes.* And with the way this place is set up, it's impossible to leave the line if you needed to run to your car to get a jacket. There are some porta-potties along the way and one food stand for the line, but you're mostly trapped. (No joke, there are tall wooden fences surrounding the line.) So, once our ticket was scanned, we thought we were good. Nope. We exit the small building and see yet *another* long zig zag line with hundreds of people waiting to get in. And at this point, no one was happy. It was cold, the line barely moved, and everyone spent a ton of money to get in. Even the VIP line was backed up and hardly moving. I know part of the waiver you sign mentions something about long lines, but how could anyone expect to wait *this* long? Anyway, after waiting for *another 90 minutes* we finally get to this wall, which leads to a doorway that everyone is crowding through. Is this the front gate to get into the park? Sort of. Once you're inside, you'll learn that instead of the place having 13 separate haunted houses, it's just a 60-minute linear walk through all 13. Perhaps this is an error on my part, but a "linear walk" didn't match the advertisements I saw for this place. On top of that, being in there for just an hour after standing in the cold for 3 hours and dropping over a hundred bucks on tickets was a tad infuriating. Finally, you're divided into groups of 6-8 and then sent through the houses, and the journey is pretty lame. The set pieces and props are really cool, but the place is 90% mannequins. Seriously--there were hardly any actors! And there were also no workers inside keeping the groups separated, so by the end, my group of 6 was a group of almost 20 people. At that point, there are no scares. Oh, and we were done in *less* than an hour too. I truly have never experienced anything like this in my life. Again, I wanted to enjoy this place so much. I love haunted houses and Halloween time. But everything about this place--the prices, the long lines, the lack of actors, you name it--was a disappointment on every level. Honestly after reading the reviews on here, I was concerned and ready to just take the loss on the tickets. But my buddy and I decided to take the risk. Mind you we are driving 5hours to get here lol. But anyways we showed up an hour early. It was already getting busy but not bad at all. We were in the first group of 20 to get in line so it wasnt bad. We did end up leaving everything in the car, my purse, his vape etc as we read the rules before hand. Make sure you do! It made it that much easier yall. The longest part was weaving thru the entrance maze they have set up to control the lines. Biggest issue for someone with a squirrel bladder is there are only porta potties along the way but nothing set up right before ya go in so you literally have to get outta line piss and hurry back in line and hope not to many people get ahead of ya lol. Once you get through the check in you walk a bit more and your thrown right into the first haunted house no warning just one min you are walking the trail the next your in a haunted house . Overall it was a great set up lots of gory things all around you and plenty of jump scares even with the groups in front and behind us screaming i got spooked in every house at least 5times . Well worth the drive and money just wish it lasted a bit longer felt to short for me lol but maybe im just demented. I visited on opening night. I used to drive 1.5 hours and back to come to this attraction every Fall but unfortunately this will be my last time visiting. There is very little crowd control between exhibits. While groups are timed, you're bound to join a conga line of sorts at some point and from there, subsequent exhibits are ruined. Also, they are severely lacking staff within the exhibits. During my visit, I can remember seeing 6-7 actors across all 10 exhibits. While the exhibits are well decorated and thought out, the experience feels more like a museum than a spooky attraction. Lastly, and most disappointing, while I was in the Terror in the Dark exhibit, one of the actors screamed "I'll rape you," to me in an attempt to scare me. Pretty much we've been to all of them. This one is hands down the best we've been to and it's the best time we've ever had. We all lost our voices Saturday night lol from screaming to laughing, to screaming to laughing, and then laughing at each other for who screamed the loudest. Lol. It was awesome. Everyone wanted to go back the next day!!! This place is the Real Deal. Awesome environment, Scary as Sh$&!!!!! The Real Deal!!! From beginning to end (it's the longest one we've ever been through, which is the best part, because it's one scene after another, it had us on our toes the whole way through). I originally confused this park with another but I did end up going to this park alone and it was like a huge maze with plenty of props, literally took me an hour and a half to walk through. And had different sections for all to enjoy. My favorite and the most creative in my opinion was the clown section and the Catholic Church scene. Let me start with the positives. It is very obvious that the scare actors and set designers put a lot of time and artistry in to creating an atmosphere in all of the individual rooms. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and got quite a few scares once we got in to the haunt. However the only reason I was able to take my time and really analyze all of that beautiful art was because I myself had to pace my group from the people ahead of me and behind me because the event was just simply oversold for the evening. I understand, weekend before Halloween, lots of people looking for scares, however this was a clear case of sacrificing quality for quantity. We waited an hour and a half after our reservation in line and eventually bit the bullet and upgraded to VIP to just get in to the place. I hope this is something they will fix in the future. I would have rather booked somewhere else in then area then expect to come in at 9 and not enter the space until after 10:30. read more

I've been waiting in line for almost two full hours and I'm still in line writing this review. There is no hope in sight of getting into this park before they close for the night. Oversold event, too many people to function. Zero communication from anyone who works here. Terribly run event, and the worst part is that they don't even offer refunds. Arrive hours before your time slot if you have any desire to do anything here. EDIT: finally made it into the park after waiting in line for 2 and a half hours. I had a good time even though the wait completely dampened my mood. The houses themselves were really well done and well made with lots of great imagery and fun scares inside. You can tell they were made with a genuine love for haunted houses. The negative to overselling is that every house was jam packed with people back to back rushing through every scene. There was no time to enjoy anything about the houses when it felt like taking your time to look around was holding up over 200 people behind you. We went on a Sunday night, 3 weeks before Halloween. You can't be shocked there's a long line if you go on a Saturday a week or two before Halloween. So it's best to try to go Sunday if you can. Went October 5, 2024. Drove 2 hours from New Haven, CT. This attraction wasn't any better than the local ones in CT. We did get a few scares, but honestly, we expected more with all the hype about Guinness World Records. Actors seemed sparse and nearly all of them were simply wearing masks instead of spending time on makeup. The actors in the clown area were definitely working the hardest. Overall, there was a lot of attention to props and details, but not so much to the necessary jump scares. VIP tickets saved 90 minutes. My friend and I are extreme haunted house goers. In the month of October we generally attend all haunted houses. Was the haunted houses long? Yes. About 10 mini houses. Was it scary no? Alot of props ; not enough of interaction. One of my favorite haunted attraction ever. Completely terror inducing. I have never felt so terrified in my life. Definitely not for the faint of heart I think I found my new yearly Halloween tradition! If you are in the NYC area It is definitely worth the trip. 90 min wait to get in, slowest moving lines I've ever been in. You can see jump scares coming because you have a 5 min wait until you get to it due to the massive amount of people being allowed in. This place is way overbooked plus has the fewest actors I've ever seen at a place that charges $70 per person. There's definitely better ones in the region.
