There is an undeniable bond between the musicians and their remarkable​ conductor, Russell Ger, that is easily sensed by an audience participant​. It seems to be a mutual admiration society. He obviously inspires them to reach for their highest levels. And to watch him conduct is equally inspirational​ for the audience. His short monologues before each selection lead to a much deeper understanding and appreciation of the composer, the culture of the times and the brilliance of the music. And watching Mr. Ger as he conducts, one is sure to conclude that you are watching someone akin to the great humanitarian Leonard Bernstein. I feel like a better person for having attended the GNSO performances.

Even though it may a cost a little more than a sandwich from a national chain, the food is made with lots of care with fresh ingredients and the portion is enough for two lunches (at least for me). It was a little messy so I was glad I was outside to enjoy it. It's a small space inside (perhaps 5 square table for 2 each) and it's almost kitty corner to my favorite shop, Oliver & Chatfield. Since it's a little further down on Liberty street, you'll find plenty of street parking.
