Wow what a great little theatre I never even knew it was here. Went on Tuesday night and saw a great movie in a great theater. It was old but clean the reclining seats were very comfortable. A lot nicer than the seats at AMC. And they even have heat. It felt great on my back. Food and drink were reasonable as was the candy and popcorn. This might become my new indoor theater. Bathrooms need to be remodeled but it's clean and that's what counts. Staff was very friendly. I will be back when ever there is a good movie playing. Thx people well done. read more

Went recently to see Iron Lung, after not going to this theater for over a decade, and I was so impressed! $10 matinee tickets AND heated recliners with USB ports? I gotta come here more often. Good sound, no viewing difficulties, I didn't have food or even look at the prices so I can't speak to that aspect, but the theater is clean and warm, and I was very comfy in my recliner by myself in the theater. A ticket purchased for the wrong day was quickly dealt with too, and I was told that if that happens again to just use it for another day, it's fine. read more

Went here on a Tuesday night and the place was empty but not surprised at that. It's a small theater with small movie rooms so I could see if it sold out quickly during busier times. The bathrooms were older (think high school with old tile and old doors) but were clean and in working order. The room our movie was in had florescent lights on the walls that changed color and they had comfortable reclining seats that were also heated which surprised us. When the movie was about to start all of the rows of seating lifted up and reclined automatically which was also surprising but we were still able to adjust our seat. That was actually a cool feature because being up a little higher made it easier to see the film. The surround system was also great and really enhanced the experience. And the snacks we got from the snack bar were fresh and reasonably priced. I would definitely come here again but most likely on a week night as I have a feeling weekends must get pretty crowded. read more

I frequent this theater when i go to the movies. it has an old time feel but its not easy to see from the roa. The seats are really comfortable and heated, but the theaters are small and can't hold many people at one time. The ticket prices are good and they have a deal with a popcorn bucket and/or a drink that can be refilled at another time for a cheaper price, they can be brought to any show and time, you take them home and bring them back. The staff is very nice and when i had a probl they were accommodating. Think of them before you go to AMC. read more

We're a fan of this theater! While they have a smaller selection of movies compared to AMC across town at the mall, they do show a handful of new movies (longtime locals may remember this place used to only show movies that had been out a while / no longer played at the mall - no more!) And what I appreciate is that they seem to always have at least 1-2 kids films, which is the main reason we even go to the movies anymore :) Tickets and concessions are both less expensive than the mall. They have a good selection of snacks / candy, popcorn is good. Theaters are clean and the seats all recline AND heat. No assigned seats, either, which I'm not a fan of that some theaters do now. These theaters are smaller than AMC, but I like it - it's cozier, less likely to lose your things (or kids!). Employees have been very friendly and helpful. It's easy to miss, tucked away in a strip off Dolson Ave that's definitely seen better days - but once inside, things have absolutely improved over the years regarding both cleanliness and service, and unless there's a specific movie we want to see that's only playing across town, I see no reason to ever go back to AMC. The employees there are pleasant and eager to make each customer have a great experience. The theaters are all very clean and have top of the line seats and audio. The best thing about this theater is that the cost to see a movie, popcorn and a drink costs less than half of what it costs at AMC. read more

I called to book my son's birthday party on November 9th. I even have a voicemail from the owner James. James confirmed the birthday over the phone and told me to call with the final head count. I called James numerous times only to be ignored! No return phone call. My husband went in person and this man James had the nerve to say there is no birthday scheduled for November 30th. That was a blatant lie! The day before my son's birthday this man would do this! No apologies! A shrug like he did nothing wrong. What a horrible human and a really poor way to run a business! No regard for the customer or the fact that he has just left a 9 year old and all his guests without a venue and movie to see! read more

I will NEVER given this theater my business again. We went to see the Lion King from work. As we are leaving the theater, the manager says something about our people making a mess in the bathrooms, which is BULLSHIT. My guys do not make a mess, and besides they are supervised. Then to totally blow up this joker's claim, he comments about the women's bathroom. And guess what? We had no female individuals in our group. There was a mixed group from another location, and he ignorantly assumed we're all together. Be ignorant with your business, there are consequences. SO GLAD there is an affordable, nicely kept, family friendly theater in the Middletown area. This theater offers VERY reasonably priced movies and concessions. The staff in this theater are polite and just lovely. I've read some of the other comments. What to say, technology breaks. You think it doesn't happen in the movie theaters that are three times the price? Yes, the theaters are smaller but they are very clean and comfy. I was pleasantly surprised by this venue. We chose it as a midway point between New Paltz and Scranton to meet up with family, because seats were sold out at AMC for Star Wars. I've never been in a theater that is part of a half uninhabited strip mall. The parking lot is giant, it was foggy and bleak and my uncle joked that it looked like we were in Soviet Russia. However, what matters is the show itself--the sound system was great, the seats were comfortable, the picture was good. They don't have those new-fangled stadium recliners, but the seats were big and plush and rocked, and that's really all I want. The screen was small, but that means you could get nice and close and it wasn't neck-breaking. The prices for the tickets and the concessions were excellent. And they have White Castle! read more

I've been coming here since I was a child. So many great memories. This theater was just about the only facility I desperately waited for to reopen after the devastating pandemic. The owner is very friendly and consistent. Employees are friendly. Yummy popcorn. I'm proud of the work that was put into the reopening. I'm going to stay with Middletown Cinemas on Dolson Avenue instead of AMC. I get their coupons and I get two for the price of one. A ticket there is $7 during matinee or $8 during regular shows. A small popcorn is $2.75 or $3 with a bottled water another dollar so out the door I might spend 12 to $13 for basically the same thing that I would get at AMC Galleria Cinema. The whole family can go for less than 50 bucks... popcorn including drinks with ticket in a brand new theater. No reclining seats yet but they are very large seats. read more

Well? It's a fine place. It's a less expensive experience and so it's hard to complain. What I will say is that it is well run for a discount cinema. The owner is pleasant and visible and didn't hassle us when we accidentally booked a kids ticket For a 12 year old. That counts in my book. The concessions are less expensive too. I was sorta bothered by the soda. I can't recall if it was marketed as coke or Pepsi, but it sure the hell was not. It was RC cola on a good day and tasted nasty. Yes, it was half the price of a soda at AMC but - not sure that made me feel better. The other thing they could fix are the seats. While they have stadium seats, they're installed incorrectly. The floor slopes. The chairs should NOT. You feel like you're being lurched forward. They could fix this for very little cost if they wanted to. Hey -it's fine. But if they fixed these items, people may actually choose this place rather than use it as a back up for when AMC is booked. read more

Saw "Star is Born" tonight with my wife. There were maybe ten of us in the theater. Anyway, pretty intense, moving film. So, as you may or may not know, the movie is about two musicians. And one of the actors playing one of the musicians is Lady Gaga who is a real life musician. Anyway, her song is playing over the credits at the end. And, well, the movie just ended so everyone is still kinda just chilling and I am assuming taking it all in because, like I said before, it was a pretty intense experience. So then one of the employees comes during the credits and starts demanding we leave our seats because he has to clean up. "C'mon! You gotta go!" and the like. This man rushed all of the theater goers out like we were in his way. While the song was still on, while the credits were still rolling, while a bunch of us were still with eyes on the screen. "You have to go. Now. I gotta clean up." So, anyway, I spoke to the manager and the gentleman said the following: 1) Don't tell me, tell him (meaning the guy that had done the cleaning) 2) There are two sides to every story. When he said this second thing I said, "Why would I lie? What possible motivation could I have to claim a man kicked me out of the theater early if it hadn't really happened?" It's not like I'm looking to get a free bag of Swedish Gummy Fish out of the whole deal. So the manager says, "I don't know if you are telling the truth." I respond by saying, "This is how you run your theater? A customer logs a complaint and your first move is to challenge their integrity?' (paraphrasing) So I say, "I paid for a whole movie, I should be able to see a whole movie," and he says, "it's like a coin, there's two sides," and goes into the whole "not sure if you are telling the truth thing." I say I won't ever be coming back and the guy's like: "That's fine with me." Been going to this place for YEARS. Love(d) it. 'Till tonight. Such an unfortunate thing. read more

Went to see Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker today, & this theater was horrible. The first 10-15 minutes you could hear music, but no words, & the last 20 minutes was the same. Many people walked out. I don't think I would ever go back, you get what you pay for. read more

I usually love this theater, very affordable prices and nice staff. However my dad and I just left very dissatisfied. We went to see the new Dumb and Dumber movie, but the picture kept disappearing. Over four times the projection cut out and we only had the sound. The best part was walking out and a guy who worked there was shaking his head and said "I don't know what to do." You just finished an earlier showing of this same movie! We got our refund and left. I suggest having someone on staff who knows what to do when a projector malfunctions. Totally ruined our father daughter time. read more

Went to this theater for the for time and I will never go back to it again.. It was such a bad experience that I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place... First the girl at the concession stand was such a klutz she pushes the drink all the way to end of the counter and it falls on the floor and plashes on my boyfriend after that the line there was ridiculously long Everyone is on top of everyone, I was literally bumping into the lady behind us. After that when they let us in the seat where we decided to sit at was extremely wet.. All in all it was the worst!!! I will stick to AMC in the galleria mall.. Screw this place!!!!! It's good & cheap, but lately, they've been missing a lot of the good movies I want to see. I also find the owner really sleazy. He advertises movies he doesn't even have. Then, when you are already at the boxoffice, he tells you you read the ad for the wrong theater, even though there were 10 other people behind me who also "read the ad wrong." He got pretty nasty with me about it even though the employees admitted he knew his web ad was wrong. But they were just sheep, going along. read more
