First time at this historic opera house. Place is nice and clean and the ushers and other workers were all very friendly.

First time visiting this historic opera house for a Saturday matinee. Place was clean. The ushers and other workers were all very welcoming and friendly. Neighborhood appeared a bit sketchy.

First visit ever to this historic theater,a jewel in Poughkeepsie NY.this theater seats 944 people and this historic day I didn't see an empty seat for the first African American opera written by an African-American. "Fire Shut up in my Bones" written by Terence Blanchard. It was televised Live from The Metropolitan opera house ,Lincoln Center in New York City. This Opera House has a very nice concession stand, however signs all over say NO FOOD IN THEATER. Bathrooms male and female are located downstairs. The seats were surprisingly roomy,I was able to stretch my legs out rather comfortably. Plenty of parking all over this area and surprisingly you can actually park in front of the theater from one end of the street to the other end. Even public parking garage was free (it was a Saturday however). All in all great experience here. Will likely take in another show here in the future.

Historic gem, great house, a community focused theater. High quality shows, from the big names to the $5 friday film series.

Wonderful small venue for music. Recently saw America there. Previously saw Arlo Guthrie. Any seat is a good one. Sound is great.

Very awkward crowd control. It has been a year sine review noted below. Would absolutely not attend another event there.

A classic theatre. It was a fabulous place for the Beacon Ballet Arts Studio recital.

I love this place!…read more We came here for a comedy show on Saturday and decided to try some of their food. I went with the Shrimp cocktail and the shrimp used were just perfect! I am always scared when ordering shrimp cocktail due to the fact some establishments use crap grade shrimp, well not this place, they were spectacular. I believe many of the chefs I read graduated from the Culinary Institute of America which is located extremely close to this restaurant, and this could be part of the reason why their food game is on point. My girlfriend got the beef stew, and they gave ample portions of meat with delicious gravy and the mashed potatoes were nothing to sneeze at either. I got a couple Jack and Diet's and the upcharge for a double is not that bad, at the time of writing this I believe it is a four-dollar upcharge. Also got a merlot and it was fresh and delightful. If I lived closer to this place, I would be here all the time. There are several colleges near here, so I assume the vibe is great as well if you are looking to come and have a good time. The train station literally shares there parking lot so if you plan on partaking in a good time with drinks and spirits it would be a good idea to just train it over. As always people SYOY, and if you live even remotely close to Mahoney's, visit often for me! Cheers!!
