The gelato was very good. Tried pistachio and chocolate. Did not have any entrees but definitely would come back for more gelato.

I therefore wanted to give it a try, since I think that Joey Nova (and Elmar Pizza) are the best New York-style pizzas in the Twin Cities. However, there is no ownership or any other ties between Pizza Novara and Joey Nova. Although they both serve New York style pizza and you can get a whole pie or a slice, that's where the similarity ends. My wife and I tried two different kinds of slices. I opted for the plain cheese, while my wife got the pepperoni. As an ex-New Yorker, i would say the pizza here is OK, but doesn't hit as well as the other two restaurants that I mention above. The pizza is ordered at the counter and brought to your table when ready. Both my wife and I thought the counter person was a bit snippy when asked a few questions about the pizza. Nothing terrible, but not particularly welcoming. There are lots of hotels surrounding this restaurant and I'm sure they get a lot of business (take-out and delivery) from the hotels and it's certainly better than most of the chains. The restaurant is bright and cheerful and there are tables to sit at if you want to eat in the restaurant.

The dining area did seem to be a little bit smaller than what you would expect but it was really not a problem. My daughter liked that they put white paper down so customers can draw on it. Crayons were provided and already on the table. The pizza was good, I am picky when it comes to red sauces and the sauce they used is not one that I really care for but I ate it anyway and it was actually pretty good with the way they made their pizzas. I do however prefer a firmer crust which would have made the pizza perfect but it was close. I would eat here again when in town and I do recommend that people check it out and give it a try.

Too expensive for me. Sorry! :(…read more I've driven past this place countless times headed downtown and always wanted to give it a try because I love Italian food! Finally the perfect day to snag some arrived. Got our meals to-go, which in a way was like "thank goodness" because at least I didn't have to then also leave a tip for the wait staff... Doing so would've made this $50+ instead of $40+. Ouch! DX The bottled beverages are $4 a pop, canned for $3. Gosh dang, fam, you could've at least made those affordable to even things out instead of finding another way to gouge... Placed my order at the counter and sat in the lobby on the hard chairs to wait for it to be prepared. It took A WHILE. Which maybe makes sense for stuff like lasagna and pizza. Idk. I was there pretty late at night (nearly 8pm) on a Monday night, so maybe that was part of the problem too? It got later and later into the evening and I got hangier the longer I sat, I'll admit. Oops. At least when the order was ready, it was piping hot, so even on the 15-minute drive home it stayed plenty warm when we opened it up to consume. Sadly though, the garlic bread was halfway to soggy because it steamed inside the tin foil... Thankfully our air fryer was able to restore it to crunchy glory. The food was all pretty tasty at least, and in a reasonable quantity, so even though it was pricey, I did get three meals out of my $21 pasta dish (I'm on the small side though, so your "mileage" may vary). If I was made of money, I'd be happy to return to try the dine-in experience. It looked like the inside and outside had been painted with fun colors, which I always find to be a plus (I like knowing some artist out there got to contribute their craft to making a place unique). Or maybe some time I'll just drop in to try the gelato (or have the in-laws treat us when they visit, pfft). The parking situation is... well, a situation. It's not good. They have a small lot out back that isn't well delineated as to where you should or can park... and escaping from that lot is also a burden. I think most people just parallel park on the opposite side of the street? Or maybe walk from Lake Nokomis? Or maybe it's all local folk who walk from home. I get it, not every place can accommodate a lot of vehicles though.

The ambiance in here is more casual than I expected for 50th and France: it's got some fun touches, and doesn't feel too fancy. A great cosy pizza joint. We got a pizza and the meatballs to share, plus I got a spritz - and everything tasted great. Prices are slightly elevated but not too crazy. Service was good and the ambiance was lively - I think this will be a great staple pizza spot for the neighborhood.

It is on the noisier side, so if loud music or a busy dining room isn't your thing, keep that in mind. It's a tighter space with lots of foot traffic, but the servers were super friendly and you can actually see the brick oven from the tables, which is a cool touch. We ordered the Connie with chicken, the Also Kathy with chicken and no bacon, and the chicken wings. Everything was so flavorful. The wings were perfectly cooked with this whole medley of spices you could actually taste in every bite. Both pizzas were delicious, but the Also Kathy stood out -- it has this really unique white sauce that my whole family fell in love with. Safe to say we have a new favorite spot whenever the pizza craving hits.

Walked past this place and my stomach told me to go inside and order me a Philly cheesesteak and that is exactly what I did. Order the supreme cheesesteak (as shown in photo) with 3 sauces on the side (forgot the names of the sauces.) Got my food and opened that bad boy up, the smell of the cheesesteak was something that you smell in your dreams. I took one big gorglish bite and fell in love with this cheesesteak. Now if you know anything about the one and only TBG, you know how much I love sandwiches and man is this the best one EVER! The way the cheese was mettled, the sauce, the quality, the quantity and even the fluffy yummy bread. It was a 10/10 in my book. Absolutely and highly recommend this place if you are ever in Minneapolis. Best, TBG (The Big Gorger)

I must be blind as I didn't see it listed anywhere that it comes with fries, so I ordered fries separate which was a massive order on top of the fries it comes with. That said - I really like the flavor and crispness of the fries. The cheesesteak itself had solid flavor and tasted fresh and quality. I haven't had a sandwich come close across the cities And definitely plan to go back and recommend!
