TERRIBLE - stay away from this mom and pop shop! I would give a zero if I could. Once they got my money (I spent $15K at Nicks), they stopped returning my calls, texts (which were clearly read) and they made no effort to fix their own mistake in hardwood floors they installed.
I went to Nicks based on a recommendation by my contractor (Nick's brother) for flooring, carpeting and window treatments.
The customer service before I made my final payment was awesome. The two ladies who work at Nicks (Amy in the window treatment section and Clara, who I believe is Nick's mother, in the flooring section) as well as Nick himself couldnt have been more responsive when it came to questions, measurements, etc. They often proactively called me to see if I had made any decisions on styles, colors, etc. Nick himself was very involved and responsive on his cell phone any time I needed him and came out himself to measure my windows for window treatments.
I ended up having my floors and carpeting done by Nicks. Window treatments were the one thing I priced out with another vendor and decided to go with the other vendor because they were literally half the price. I ended up spending $15K at Nicks on flooring and carpeting and wish I had priced out at least one other vendor and wish I had gone to a larger, more reputable place anyway given the customer service I have experienced since.
Upon moving in post Labor Day (and after making my final payment to Nicks), I noticed two things on the brand new hardwood floors in the kitchen: 1) scratches from where the contractor's men installed the dishwasher and 2) a squeak in an area in front of the oven.
Regarding the scratches, I sent Nick a picture September 13th and asked if anything could be done to buff them out. He read the text (his iPhone is set on the setting that tells you when he has read a text) but never replied. I let it go and covered the area with a carpet.
Regarding the squeak, I called Clara and left a detailed message with her I believe on September 29th and asked that Nick call me to discuss. After not hearing back for over a week, I called Nick's back a couple of times and there was no answer. I had called Nicks dozens of times over the summer during my renovation so I can only assume Clara chose not to answer these calls. I finally called Nick's cell October 5th and he answered obviously not knowing it was me because he was clearly surprised when I told him. He said the fix was simple and would require gluing down the floor in the area of the squeak with an 1/8" hole in the floors, which I told him I was ok with. He told me he would call me the next day (October 6th) when he was in the office to schedule. After not hearing from him for a few days, I sent him a text October 10th suggesting a few dates. He read it but didnt respond. I asked his brother (my contractor) to speak to him and he said he would/did several times. I sent Nick another text November 13th again asking about the floors - he read the text but has yet to reply.
Bottom line - stay away from this place. Once they got my money, they had no desire to be helpful or even responsive. A larger place would never treat their customers this way and Im sure, based on my experiences with the window treatments, you would save yourself a few bucks. read more
