Terrible. They forgot to remove my drain cover and the new one is much smaller. See photo. When we called to get it worked out they said it was not their job to remove it and that we should have done it ourselves...Umm what do I look like a plumber???? Tub was green and I want it beige ...thats all know. The thing was not even screwed down? Why would you not remove it! They refused to come fix it. I had another tub resurfaced years ago...the men had a big hose that they exhausted out my window. American Bath...No hose they blew dust and debris (yes the bathroom is under construction) all around. My tub felt like sand paper and was covered in blemishes. Found out the hard way, I also found a complaint on BBB and businessfinder. It was a recommendation from Mitch (Re-Bath), so beware of their business tactics: 1. Recommendation from fellow plumber 2. Father (John) came out to provide estimation 3. Son (John Jr.) came out to perform the job, but not based on the estimation. 4. Sent John Sr. the photos of unfinished work and poor quality, see photos and you be the judge. 5. Father didn't want to look at the emailed photos, he called back and started to use profanity/curses and said son did a great job. I said he didn't do the re-grout that was on the estimation, he said son told him it can't be done. So I said then your estimation shouldn't include the re-grout or the son should've provided the estimation in the first place. 6. So offered to meet them half way just for showing up. He's still cursing. See how these guys work their customers, this is what's wrong with their industry and their peers. Really nice people. Showed up on time and cleaned everything. I had two bathrooms resurfaced. Within 3 months the paint was peeling and not because we dropped something in the tub. I called and was told to just get spray paint and paint the spot. Now 1 year later both bathrooms are a mess. The tiles were an ugly color but in perfect condition before the resurfacing. Now I have to spend the money to completely redo the bathroom. DO NOT glaze tubs or tile. Save your money for a complete makeover. read more

We have used American for three bathrooms to date. One in our primary residence and two in our rental properties. I have been completely pleased with the work they have done based upon the price that they charged. We are not paying 15k+ for a "spa" type bath remodel, so we had American come out and do a basic remodel of our bathrooms. They look great. I was present for all the work that they did and I must say that they are all very hard workers, very pleasant to deal with, professional and the work area was cleaned properly upon completion. John,the owner, was always responsive to my phone calls and small job changes along the way. Gerald the foreman took pride in the work he was doing and was very concerned about the final product being perfect. Johns employees work very hard ! A note about the tile work and the fit of all the bath appliances, they look perfect ! We initially had gotten a quote to re-do a small bathroom (tub replacement, new fixtures, sink and walls) for over $5k. Got a quote from John - his guys came in and re-tiled the floor, resurfaced the tub and re-tiled a portion of the shower wall. The shower wall didn't look right to them with only a portion re-tiled so they went ahead and re-glazed and grouted the entire shower wall for pennies on the dollar. We hired John's crew last year to renovate our bath area. Because we were extremely pleased with the results, we turned to them again for exterior house and deck painting and deck reconstruction. While the house results are beautiful, we are really impressed with the work Gerard did on the deck. It was in terrible condition, and the steps were almost inaccessible. Gerard opened the side of the deck and built new steps. Because he noticed that I am disabled, he added hand railings and made sure each step was not too high. Nobody mentioned this; it was done through his own observation and consideration. Then he added special touches, like caps on the railing posts. Now it looks and feels like a deck we want to use. I don't want to ignore the house. Several coats of paint were applied to the shaker shingles because they were absorbing the paint. We were going to buy new shutters, but John told us the crew would remove them, clean them, paint them, and put them back up. They did that, and they look like new! What is special about all of John's crew is that not only are they reliable and hard-working, each person is respectful and courteous. We are comfortable with them in our home. We especially appreciate that when John says his crew will be there - they are there. We have already decided we will be contacting John next year when we want the house interior repainted. Don't be distracted by the word "Bath" in their name. American Bath Resurfacing is clearly capable of so much more. You don't need the word "PRO" in your name to be professional. I hired John's company to strip and resurface my bath tub. I had originally painted it about 18 years ago and it was fine until my cleaning lady dropped something on it and split the paint. Next thing you know it's peeling everywhere. I called 4 other companies and they wanted $150. more to do the job. It involved stripping it then doing the resurface. Three men arrived today, perfect gentlemen. I watched as they stripped off the beige colored paint. They called me after completed the first stage and asked me to look at the original color. Unless I really wanted to change the color they said they could shine it up and make it look new without painting again. I actually liked the lemon yellow color that appeared! They told me the tub was in great condition and were quite surprised that it held it's original shine.I liked the yellow. I was very impressed that they didn't push to finish the original job. John called and charged me a minimal fee for the stripping. I couldn't be happier. read more

Sand to smooth any imperfections and blend them in so the surface is ready for the rest of the bathtub reglazing process. Tac-cloth and smooth the tub. Apply a chemical primer and a ceramic bonding agent - a critical step in the bathtub reglazing process. Spray two or three coats of primer, as necessary, and allow it to dry. Mix a two-part top coat, consisting of resin and a catalyst, and prepare to spray the top coat. Spray the tub, giving you a total of six or more coats of bathtub reglazing and leaving you with a like-new finish. Allow 48 hours to dry before use. ________________________________________ WHAT WAS ACTUALLY PERFORMED BY JOHN JR. CLEANED TUB WITH ACID THEN RINSED WITH WATER. DRIED WITH PAPER TOWEL. They carelessly cover up the walls and windows before glazing and leave it up to you to remove the covering after they glaze. They don't check the results of their work because they will glaze over areas that should have been protected. Once you remove the covering and spot the defects in their work (and you definitely will), they will tell you it's not their job to fix it. You can use a lot of adjectives to describe American Bath Resurfacing, but "professional" is not one of them. read more

Avoid this sloppy company. They papered up half of the wall and left all the paper and tape up for us to remove--upon removal, we saw that whatever was under the paper was the original white and everything above the paper was the color of the glaze. On top of that, the edges are uneven so we will have to sand the glaze off and then repaint our walls. Their motto should be "that's not our job," because that's all you'll hear when you call with complaints. read more
