What a beautiful Sunday treat this was. The ambiance was perfect, anything near a body of beautiful water is perfect for a calm dining experience. Service was pretty quick and our waiter, Chris, provided us with the best recommendations. Drinks: I ordered the Amber crush with club soda- Refreshing and not too sweet The rest of my party ordered the sangria, orange crush, and sagamore crush. Everyone throughly enjoyed their drink. In fact, some of us enjoyed a second round because they were just that good. Appetizers: we started the dining experience with fried calamari and Nick's egg rolls. Fried calamari: fresh, perfect batter, consistency in the crunch, and a satisfying texture. It was well prepared and delicious. Nick's egg rolls: sinfully good!!!!! And it was stuffed with crab and shrimp. This was another fresh seafood dish with amazing seasoning added throughout. The dough had the perfect crunch-definitely worth the order! Entrees: I ordered the seafood platter- I opted for the broiled option and added crab stuffing to the mahi mahi. My sides were sautéed spinach and red bliss mashed potatoes. Here is a breakdown of each item on the dish: The mahi mahi- SO GOOD! Broiled to perfection and the added crab stuffing complemented it well The crab cake- AMAZING! Once you bite into this, your mouth is greeted by sweet meaty crab chunks, all seasoned to the core with a lingering perfect taste. Shrimp and scallops- SO DELICIOUS! Trust me, they provided quite generous with serving sizes so I actually ate these the next day. Loved it! Sautéed spinach- DELICIOUS! You could taste the fresh garlic which elevated the taste. Perfect sautéed side. Red bliss mashed potatoes- SMOOTH! No seriously, this was so smooth and buttery. This entire dish won my vote! The rest of my party thoroughly enjoyed their meals: Fish & Chips- Fresh and delicious Shucked n fried oysters- Excellent and fresh We ended this phenomenal dining experience with dessert. Brownie sundae- sinfully good! Bread pudding- one of the best I've had in some time. Free parking is available nearby Great for large groups or an intimate date Beautiful view of the water Excellent service I'll be back to try their whole crabs!
Wow! Some of the best seafood I've had my entire life, I could eat here every day of the week! I started with seafood gumbo which was delicious and a very generous serving size. I then ordered a half dozen of large crabs and a corn, this is where I really went crazy. The crabs were huge and full of flavor, my server Kala made sure I had everything needed to easily get the meat out of the crabs and I had plenty of space to toss the hollow shells. The crabs were perfectly cooked and seasoned, I wish I had a bigger stomach to eat more than a half dozen - they were that good! We came around 7PM in the middle of the week and and our wait was only around 10 minutes even with the place being packed. I really like the location and there's some art out back in the parking that was nice to look at while waiting for the text that the table was ready.
Love the location and the vibe along the waterfront here in Maryland. Perfect place for soup and salad on a hot day. They didn't get a shipment of blue crab in today so that was a bummer and I hear there's a shortage currently, but the crab chowder was amazingly creamy and delicious and I found it to be perfectly seasoned. Wow so glad I paired it with the poached pear salad and added a crab cake. This salad was so refreshing and it had dressing in every bite. By far the best meal I have had in a while. The shaded patios fans were on so the 91 degree temperature was tolerable, the service was slow, server seemed uninterested in work and it seemed like a new back of house staff was in training for the summer season. Would love to come back for the blue crab and all the other deliciousness. Highly recommend the food.
We came here for dinner after a Ravens game. This place was packed we were still able to get a table without any issues. The service was great, although we had to wait a while for the crabs to come out. My wife ordered their Fried Green Tomatoes. These were really good. They were topped with lump crab & lemon butter. Luckily my wife isn't into crab that much so the bites that I had were big bites with a lot of crab. My son ordered their Shrimp Po Boy served in a fresh warm baguette. I stuck with a half dozen of their large crabs. They had ran out XL and Medium. They definitely took forever to come out but worth the wait. The crabs had plenty of meat and the seasoning was spot on. I can definitely see myself returning on our next Baltimore trip.

I was back home in Baltimore for the weekend and wanted to make it a point to sit down somewhere and really enjoy some crabs. Being from Baltimore, I love crabs and crab cakes, and while Florida is great, it just does not compare when it comes to Maryland crabs. I had actually never gone out to a restaurant to eat full crabs before. I always ate the m at home so this weekend I wanted to find a spot where I could have that experience in person. Nick's Fish House definitely lived up to my expectations. The place was awesome and the service was awesome too. I got a dozen large crabs and they were nice and meaty. Be prepared to pay, but honestly I expected that. From what I could tell, it seems like they get their shipment in the morning and it's kind of first come, first serve. If you really want crabs come at lunch. They ran out by time we left around 2pm. After the crabs, I got a single crab cake and it was amazing. My daughter got the fried shrimp and enjoyed that too. There's just something about sitting in Baltimore with an ice cold beer and eating crabs. This is a great spot, and I could easily see it being an awesome place to watch a Ravens or O's game too.
We came on a rainy Sunday for lunch and sat at the heated outdoor bar. We got gumbo, an orange crush, steamed shrimp and XL Blue Crabs. The gumbo had good flavor but it was lacking in protein. One piece of chicken, sausage and one shrimp. Mostly just rice and broth. So I was disappointed in that for $12. For someone who lives in MD this orange crush missed the mark. I wouldn't get another one. Now, the steamed shrimp was 10/10. Super fresh, hot and tons of flavor. We would definitely get this again. Get some bread to dip in the sauce. The crabs were big and beautiful. Most had a good amount of meat but it's early in the season so some were more empty. But the meat was delicious. Overall we like this place and would come again. Noodle was our server/bartender and was nice and attentive.
You come to Nick's to sit by the water, enjoy an Orange Crush and have some crabs. Most of the other food is fried. Service is fine, everyone is hustling. Busy place. Parking is right. They used to have more spots prior to the condos being built. Our crab cake was average, the fried oysters were great. Next time we'll have more time for crabs. Took a pic of the guy behind us enjoying a dozen XL crabs. He was quite happy
We came on a Saturday around 5pm and it was crazy packed but luckily we were able to find a high top to sit at. The food was overall solid, I got the shrimp poboy which was very filling and shared crabs with my friends. The service wasn't too long considering how full they were. The ambiance is nice on the water with beautiful views.
Went for happy hour and had a solid experience. Happy hour is only at the bar unfortunately (wish they would extend it to regular seating) but it was not a big deal as we were in to split some apps for a quick dinner. We got the steamed shrimp, buffalo wings and the deckside fries. Fries were really good, not greasy or dull. The steamed shrimp was served with a cocktail sauce that had the right amount of zippy kick to it. Wings were also pretty decent. All in all would recommend it. Beware the lines however, especially now during the summer time. We went on a random Wednesday at 5pm and it was packed with some people even opting to wait for outdoor seating. I do wanna come back soon and try food from their regular menu.
We ended up here on a Saturday around 12:30-1 pm after our brunch reservations elsewhere weren't honored, and honestly, this worked out way better. There were four of us, and when we arrived there was a line to get in. We were quoted about a 45-minute wait, but since we noticed open seating at the raw bar, we grabbed spots there instead. We probably would've stayed there the whole time if we hadn't eventually been moved to a table by the window overlooking the docks, which was worth it. All in, we waited closer to 20 minutes, and considering how busy they were, that felt reasonable. For food, I ordered the Seafood Platter ($42) with the fried crab cake, scallops, mahi-mahi, shrimp, Chesapeake fries, and mac & cheese. Everything on the plate was done right. The fried crab cake had a lot of lump meat and great flavor. The scallops were juicy and a good size. The fish and shrimp were crispy on the outside and still juicy inside. I also got the buffalo fried chicken wings, which were solid. My wife and friends ordered a dozen large crabs, and those were the real standout. They were seasoned extremely well -- so much so that we were joking with the staff about whether the crabs had been injected with seasoning because the flavor was all the way through the meat. Everyone at the table was raving about them. I had a Maryland Mule with Sagamore rye. It was fine -- nothing bad, just your average bar mule. I tend to find bar drinks a little sweet and light on the alcohol, and this one was pretty much par for the course. The restaurant itself has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating and is split into different areas, which can be a little confusing if it's your first time there. Once you're seated though, everything flows fine. There's plenty of natural light, the place was clean, and for a busy crab house, it was in good shape. Noise level was moderate, even with a lot of big parties. The staff was friendly. Our server was really good overall -- he disappeared briefly at one point, but he came back and made up for it by the end, so no real complaints there. Price-wise, I felt it was worth it, especially for the seafood and the crabs. I'd order the same meal again without hesitation. Would I come back? Definitely -- especially for the crabs, seafood platters, and waterfront seating.
Excellent seafood spot with a variety of dishes. You can sit outside or inside. It has an old wharf/sports bar style. The waiters are all super nice and attentive. There is parking and overflow parking for when it gets super busy. I recommend going for lunch during the week to avoid the crowds!

Asked a local friend where we should go and he mentioned Nick's. It was already on my list, so I figured it was meant to be. We made it in time for happy hour, so got to partake in the $5 wines and beers. We also order two food items off the HH menu. The sauce with the mussels were delish. We finished that dish. The shrimp were okay. Would have skipped in hindsight since we ordered so much other food. My friend wanted the seafood tower so we got that. I though it was fine - a good way to try a bunch of items. Price wise, it was a great deal compared to spots in the SF Bay Area. I thoroughly enjoyed the crab. Glad we could order half a dozen instead of needing to get a full dozen. Would have been too much for 3 people. Service here was excellent. I guess there was a mix up when we sat at a table in the bar area. The hostess pointed us that way and said it was self seating. Our waitress let us stay and was super sweet. This Illy Philly was celebrating the bornday of an awesome sister friend and we all decided to go the Baltimore to experience some great seafood and the harbor. Nicks Fish house was on her list so away we went! When we arrived it was a beautiful sunny day and Nick's was crowded inside and out. We had reservations so there was no wait. The waitstaff was awesome- polite, friendly and absolutely ready to serve and we appreciated that. We put in our orders and they were so accommodating and really showed us what great service looks like. Drinks, salads and crabs were ordered and we dug in. The salads were delicious! Crisp, fresh and really good. I have to note that I had a virtual meeting to facilitate and had to leave the dinner for about 45 minutes at the beginning, and when I got back it was too late to order salads as they have a cut off time for salads, but the waitstaff were phenomonal and were able to get a salad made for me. Also note that my friends ordered a salad for me but it contained nuts which I can't eat, and when the waitstaff heard this they were so gracious in accommodating my needs. The drinks were great. We all ordered the rum punch which come in cute buckets and were so, so good! The food was also good, but some our orders came out less than warm which was a little disappointing and we understand it was crowded so we didn't say anything. GREAT SERVICE AND SEAFOOD The setting of Nick's Fish House is in the area of Baltimore known as the "West Peninsula," part of Port Covington, with views of the Patapsco River. We went mainly to eat steamed crabs but also ordered fresh oysters and fried calamari. Everything was SO tasty, and I look forward to future visits, in spite of the noisy main dining room due to loud music and DJ. read more
Wow! Nick's was packed with seafood loving patrons in a lively atmosphere by the waters. The GPS took us down a creepy alley but keep going, you'll be glad you did! We ordered the half and half soup to see what it would taste like with the 2 crabs soups and although it was good, I wish we had just gotten the cream of crab soup instead. Lots of crab meat in the soup. The seafood platter was delicious and well seasoned. I was actually surprised how good the mac and cheese was! Oh and the potato casserole was mmmm so cheesy and yummy, I highly recommend it! The grilled cheese and crab was a fun spin to a grilled cheese and was ok. We loved the fish and chips, it was nice and crispy and one of the best we've had. The crabs OMG the crabs were big and meaty, juicy and sweet, some of the best crabs in town! Skip the egg rolls, we thought it was ok but not something we'd order again. Our server was helpful and nice. Overally a really fun experience with live music and some good seafood! read more

This is another one of my staple restaurants that I should have taken the time to write a review about. If seafood is your deal, then this place is the real deal. I had wanted to eat some "real" crabs all summer and had this itch (no comments from the peanut gallery) for some crabs. I had a friend turn me onto her favorite place in VA, and though they were okay, they didn't fulfill that itch. So, I decided to take myself to Baltimore, where I knew I could finally have what I wanted. I have a couple of places in my Baltimore seafood reservoir. But I decided today I wanted Nick's Seafood. I live over 40 minutes away and wanted to go someplace worth my time, gas, and energy driving. I started with an entry crabcake because I was trying to save all available space for the crabs. As you can see from the photo, I ate half of it before remembering I needed to take pictures; sorry. But it was so good; don't judge me. Just wait until you taste their crabcakes--no fillers. Then, please wait for it...the giant crabs. I was like a kid with a new toy. Every single one was heavy, meaty, juicy, and so damn good. Okay, can you tell I'm a crab lover? In my head, I was like Denzel Washington in the movie Training Day when he said, "King Kong, don't have nothing on me." I say, King Kong don't have nothing on these crabs; lol. I had a great waiter named Eric, who was professional, attentive and friendly. I had a window overlooking the water while I devoured my crabs. As you can see from the photo, "mission accomplished." What's so funny is that I concentrated on eating the body and left the legs to take home later as a treat. Other menu items I can attest that I've eaten through the years are as follows: Fried Oysters Crab Pretzel Fried Green Tomatoes Crispy Brussel Sprouts Okay, I'm going to stop here because I've had over half the lunch and dinner menu, and there is not one thing I didn't like. I don't need to tell those in the DMV to make their way to Nick's. If you love seafood, make this one of your stops when you are in the area. You won't be sorry. read more

I rarely get to visit the East Coast, being from Hawai'i. First chance I had, I wanted to indulge in Atlantic seafood with my family. So, we headed to Nick's Fish House as soon as they opened on a balmy August morning. The restaurant has outdoor/indoor seating options and a second floor as well. We opted for outdoor on the ground level so we could see the harbor and gulls (don't feed them, they come in masses lol). It's seafood-kitschy, but not overdone. Our server was Tammilyn (I think), and she was on top of everything from making sure our drinks were topped off to getting our food out in order and on time, and ensuring we had the proper utensils. The food runners were excellent as well. We had the crab dip with bread, mac & cheese, and crab balls as appetizers. All excellently rich, fresh, and delightful. If Chesapeake seasoning is too spicy or salty for you, ask them to go light. For the main course, I had the lump crab imperial and split a half dozen large steamed crabs with family. The imperial came with a side of Chesapeake rice and spinach. Everything was seasoned just right, richly, and so good. Steamed crabs are blue crabs, so they break cleanly and easily with the provided mallets. The cold seafood platter (raw clams, crab legs, easy peel shrimp, raw oysters) is rather pricey ($85) but it's the freshest shellfish I've ever had. Bibs and roll paper ensure that your clothes and table won't get dirty. But I must say that several women in white dresses ate crabs at other tables and did not get dirty at all. When I came here a couple years ago, I told everyone and they momma about those fried green tomatoes with all that buttery lump crab meat on it.... I thought about that dish so often... well... we went back and WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED they changed the recipe. It now just tastes like green onion and it's disgusting. Don't mess up a good thing by changing something.. and they did... the crab pretzel was delicious and they didn't have any type of kid paper or crayons but the waitress gave my baby a pen and a piece of receipt paper and that was VERY NICE! I have been to Nick's twice - once when I first moved to Baltimore and again when I had family visiting. Nick's is quintessential Maryland, on the water, great seafood. Both times we had great service and food was yummy. It's also on the water and just FEELS like a summer day in Maryland. If you forget you're in Baltimore, you might think you're at the beach! Highlights for food: ANYTHING in the Diablo sauce. It is so yummy and flavorful. Not that spicy but just enjoyable. Crabs were fresh, steamed well, and we only got one or two not-the-best meat crabs. Calamari are small, but cooked well and crispy. Fry shrimp entree is great for people not wanting to pick crabs. Overall, highly recommend. They also have an overfill lot not too far away which is AWESOME. read more

I've been coming here a lot lately. The outdoor seating makes for a great environment, however they are slowly falling off as one of the better crab crakes in the city. I had the crab cake and it was not flavorful at all. It needed tartar sauce to taste like anything. In addition, old bay fries were soaked in old bay and barely edible in my opinion. Ive been told in the past that I cannot get the fries without old bay because they are pre-seasoned-- made no sense back then... but then they proceed to bring my friend out fries with no old bay after they just forgot to season them I guess. read more
We tried to sit in inside, but we had our dog with us, and it was too hot to leave them in the car . However, the waitress suggested you take out and that the receipts out by the dock. We so we sat by the pier with our dog because they wouldn't let us sit inside. It was pretty perfect and we took some beers to go from the bar. I would've given this place five stars however the price for six crabs was a bit too much. Additionally, I just really wanted to just buy one crab for my girlfriend to try a blue crab. It would've been nice to maybe do less than a dozen crabs. In additionally, we found a hair in her soup and we just threw it out. Probably should've complained and said something, but we were so tired from being in the sun on the dock. read more

Nick's Fish house was chill with delicious food, the service was incredibly friendly, and overall it was a good time! We came at the tail end of summer/beginning of fall and were able to sit outside. read more

Visiting the Baltimore area and stopped in to Nick's for lunch during our stay. Super cool casual space with very warm staff and prompt service. We had to get crab items of course and Nick's did they so well. Highly recommend their crab pretzel appetizer, so good! We also tried their cream of crab soup, crab Cobb salad, and Crabcake lunch. All done wonderfully... Crabcake melt in your mouth goodness. Kids menu helped get our kids their usual favorites too- macaroni and cheese and cheeseburgers. Also have to shout-out their orange crushes- soo fresh and hit the spot after a long drive to the area. When we are in Baltimore again, this will certainly be on our list to dine at again! read more
My family decided to try out Nick's for Father's Day since we all wanted a nice outdoor vibe by the water eating seafood. This was the perfect place. We were sitting outside but they have it partially enclosed with fans so you are not directly in the sun. We loved that. We all felt a nice breeze and could enjoy the full experience. Nick's also has live entertainment. Our server name was Kim. She took great care of us. All the wait staff worked seamlessly together & a manager even came over to the table. We all thought our seafood was really good and fresh. The crushes were decent too. We ordered a dozen oysters half Chesapeake/ half Choptank Sweets. The Choptank were our favorite. The crab dip was very nice & warm. I ordered the crab cake sandwich for my entree. It was just PERFECT with the Chesapeake Fries. I also tried the Brussels sprouts my mom ordered. They were nice, flash fried, with a bang bang sauce on top. I tasted some of my parent's peach cobbler dessert too. It was delicious! All in all, we really enjoyed our visit & can't wait to visit again. Make sure you go out back & take pictures on their nice pier or enjoy a nice cocktail! read more
Nick's Fish House is an absolute hit for seafood lovers in Baltimore! We came late on a Saturday night and still had a fantastic experience, even though the live music had already wrapped up (note: if you want to catch the band, come earlier in the evening). The food was so good I completely forgot to snap a pic of our dozen medium crabs--which says a lot. The crabs were nicely sized for mediums, seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of Old Bay. We paired them with sweet corn that was incredibly fresh, juicy, and crisp--summer on a plate. We also tried the steamed shrimp, and they were a standout: huge, succulent, and expertly cooked. The crab pretzel was solid--generous in size and satisfying, though I've had better elsewhere (I'd give it a 3.5/5). To drink, I had the Grapefruit Crush and loved it! You can tell they use fresh-squeezed juice--bright, refreshing, and not overly sweet. The outdoor seating area is beautiful--a spacious terrace overlooking the water with lovely views of the Chesapeake, especially at sunset. Bonus: free valet parking. All in all, Nick's is a vibrant spot with great food, views, and atmosphere--I'll definitely be back! read more

Live music + crabs + beer. If you're looking to get a true MD experience, Nicks is the spot. Pros: on the water, lively beachy vibes, feels like you stepped into a tiny beach town even though you're in bmore. Beautiful spot to wait for a table out on the doc with an orange crush. Cons: music was SO loud we couldn't really talk to eachother. Not a walkable location so you have to drive. Parking can be a little hectic when it's busy too. No reservations- so wait times are long. But as I said, you can wait with a good view of the water! read more

Super cute and relaxed atmosphere. My girlfriend brought me here to get some seafood by the water. We sat outside on a nice, windy April day. (Luckily, the outside area is covered with plenty of heaters). We started on a high top table and were able to move tables more inwards when one opened up (you just had to order drinks or apps while waiting which wasn't a big deal). It was busy for a 2pm lunch and I could tell why. Every meal that came out looked delicious. We ordered the crab soup, steamed clams starter, crab grilled cheese and lobster crab sandwich. Out of all of this, I would say the steamed crabs (1lb) starter in chipotle lime sauce stood out! I have regrets not ordering 2 of these instead of my lobster crab sandwich. The lobster crab sandwich was fresh but I just prefer a regular lobster roll. Definitely order the clams in chipotle lime while you're here! read more

Perfect sea-side spot for a birthday dinner! Fairly reasonably priced for some high quality seafood - and based on the amount of tables around us that ordered the seafood tower, they do it really freaking well. The crab dip was an awesome appetizer - very generous portion of bread to dip, perfect for sharing amongst the family, and the char at the top was delish. My girlfriend and her sister LOVED the seafood pasta dish, cavateppi and seafood just hits right. My fish sandwich was perfectly tender, a large portion that felt fresh out of the bay. The tuna melt was wonderful too. Such a great sea shanty kind of shop with an awesome boardwalk alongside it perfect for bayside photos at sunset - and the nearby bridge adds to that aesthetic fantastically too. Was in Baltimore for an Orioles game. Went to Nicks for lunch. Crazy construction going on but Waze took me straight in. I had their Deck Fries first. The cheese sauce that comes with it is amazing. Tip: order appetizers to share while you wait for your steamed crab. Who doesn't love Nick's Fish House!? This will be short and sweet since I'm confident Nick's doesn't need much clout it doesn't already have. From a great location right off the highway, off the water, to indoor and outdoor dining spaces. Both indoor and outdoor spaces have a bar and lots of seating. The outdoor dining space has heating elements for chilly days or nights. Naturally we came for the seafood. We got steamed crab and a crab cake. Nick's does a great job seasoning the crab. The crab cake was delicious as well. The cream of crab is perfect and the crab fries fit the bill. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to your bread pudding. You won't regret it! Overall I enjoy Nick's Fish House. The staff can be more attentive. I'm not sure if each staff member cover sections both indoor and outdoor, however it can use a more streamlined process of how they manage their tables. From observing it wasn't only our waiter; most tables had gaps of when the staff checked in on the table. I love a solo date. Been to Nicks twice over the summer for a solo crab date and they were some of the best crabs I've had! I always get an outside table to enjoy the views. The crabs are meaty and seasoned nicely, and the service was awesome! This is my go to place to sit outside with a good view and eat crabs! read more

Nicks is a place that most people rave about & say it's a must visit. The staff there were friendly and my waiter was efficient. I was not pleased with my food experience. I ordered the cream of crab soup and the crab imperial. I have never experienced so many crab shells in my food as I did eating both of these dishes. I LOVE crab dishes of all sorts (soups, imperial, cakes, etc) Every other bite (literally), I was picking a crab shell out of my mouth. I've never experienced this even with homemade crab dishes. When I informed the waiter, I was told the large amount of shells was because the crab is "hand picked" & he made it sound like a normal thing. The meat was clearly not picked well because this is NOT normal. Couldn't even enjoy my food because I had to constantly pick shells out of my mouth. read more

No they don’t serve steaks. If you crave beef, I recommend the 1/2lb Angus Cheeseburger.
