We went to Niche recently for our anniversary. The bourbon menu is great and the cocktails are delicious. The food left something to be desired. The ribeye was very fatty. The donut dessert was good, not great. I think we'd come back for the atmosphere and a cocktail.

Small portions - so not tons of bang for your buck but made us feel really special for my birthday. Fun, cool, mature vibes. I would return!

5 star review isn't enough! What a quaint little spot for the most delicious espresso martinis and great wine selection! We had 25-30 people come in for a Martini bus crawl and they didn't skip a beat! Thank you Niche for a wonderful experience!

I my husband took me to this restaurant in Geneva for my birthday,. It's a fabulous restaurant! Our server, Michelle, brought us complimentary glasses of champagne for my birthday. She also made great recommendations and was on top of everything. The other staff who delivered food, cleared plates and filled glasses were on top of everything as well. Good service really adds to the dining experience. My husband had a bourbon and I had a bourbon cocktail called The Brown Derby after the bubbly. Niche has quite an extensive bourbon collection. We started out with the goat cheese waffle with short rib marmalade small plate. So creative and full of flavor. For dinner I ordered the black cod with couscous and Tim ordered the ribeye special, but we decided to share our entrees. Both the fish and steak were cooked perfectly and delicious. The steak, especially had such a great flavor. We ended the meal with a coconut basque cheesecake for dessert ... before we knew that Michelle was surprising me with a cotton candy birthday treat. So nice! The cotton candy is on the menu as an all you can eat dessert! Yes, please! From start to finish, it was a great dining experience at Niche and the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Top - Lounge Act and Kyzer (cocktail)
Bottom - Witchy Woman and delicious and (very) boozy cherries.

This is a hidden gem! We have been here before but not for a while. We decided to take our out of town friend to Niche for dinner. They have a selection of wine, beer, whiskey and cocktails (and some mocktails for me). I ordered Kyzer (mocktail) - it was not just a kiddy cocktail, but thoughtfully crafted with complex flavor that an adult (like me) would appreciate. The other cocktails ordered were great. The highlight was the boozy cherries topped on the tiki cocktail. When we asked for some to try, our waitress generously gave use two skewers. These are cherries were soaked in alcohol, and you can smell it. The booziness (is it a word) can be confirmed upon first bite. Just make sure you have a designated driver after. The menu offered dishes with seasonal ingredients, and clearly labeled with gluten-free when available. We ordered Pan Seared Bronzino, Pan Seared Black Cod, and Seared Wagyu Bavette Steak. The food were delicious! They were prepared just right. I like that seasonal ingredients like sunchoke chips, and rutabaga were incorporated in the dish that complimented really well with the main proteins. Overall, it is a great place for a date or nice night out!

After going to Niche for years, we finally had the opportunity to attend one of their special dinner nights where the whole restaurant has the same coursed out menu. The menu was inspired by Mexico and the food was absolutely superb.

What a gem of a place! I drove over an hour out from Chicago to check out Niche and boy I'm so happy that I did! The ambiance of this spot is so lovely..great environment and very friendly staff. The food was incredible all across the board. I had the shrimp, fried chicken, and pretzel for apps which were so rich and flavorful. For the entrees my table had the bass (best dish), the pork, chicken, and tuna (least favorite but still delicious). All the dishes were rich is flavor, cooked to perfection, and so fresh. Couldn't wait to dig in, so I don't have many photos but we'll worth the drive. One of the best places I've been to in IL! I highly recommend this spot.

The Niche was amazing! The food as usual was outstanding! Jeffery, our server treats us as if we are the only one in the restaurant even though he's running from one table to the other. We celebrate our 50th anniversary there and the entire staff was amazing!

Niche is a local treasure for sure! We went at the end of May and had a fabulous birthday dinner for my husband. In celebration of his birthday, they brought a glass of champagne and some sprite for me as I'm pregnant... so thoughtful and made me feel included. We ordered the potato gnocchi, shared the salmon and the Brussel sprouts. Each dish was better than the last, but we particularly loved the salmon! We also ordered the donut holes, a Manhattan and a mocktail. Every single thing we ordered was fabulous and plated beautifully. The service was outstanding (new plates and silverware with every course) and the spot is funky and cool. We felt like we were definitely in an urban restaurant rather than small town suburbia. We will absolutely be back!

We sat on the patio, they have shaded or sun and lots of tables. I had the Chardonnay and it was really good! We had the smoked salmon appetizer and the potato skewers. I'm not a fan of salmon, but with the sauce they provide, it was doable. The potatoes were so good, crispy on the outside, but they explode into creaminess when you bite them. We didn't have them this time, but the calamari appetizer is my favorite! We were having such a good time, we decided to stay for dinner. I had the Coq au vin and loved it. I usually get the Beef bourguignon because that is also really good. My husband had that and it did not disappoint. Service was great, as always! One of the best restaurants in Geneva.

It took a number of years but enterprising restauranteurs laid claim to appropriate buildings and neighborhoods opening places where you could actually get something interesting to eat. Hell, even BERWYN has a fine-dining joint (or 2)! The "3rd Street" corridor in Batavia is prima facie evidence this crusade is thriving, as there are a BUNCH of great places on that Rue to stuff your face in style, (and drink accordingly.) We've been working our way down the street; as I have been in the mood for French, Le Cochon was high on the list. It was late afternoon when I and a foodie pal of mine visited. The rooms were at once light, open and airy, yet personal. The bar was adjacent and it looked heroically stocked. The waiter was personable and pleasant. The menu shouted "Bistro", and actually was sort of irritating, 'cos even after poring over it online before, everything looked so good I couldn't make up my mind! But rules are rules, and I have mine. When I go into a place for the first time, I always try to get the specialty of the house. As this is a "bistro" I finally swung with the Escargot and Steak Frites. Cliche'd, I know, but c'est le cuisine. My pal bucked tradition and went with a Burger. I should say here the house is known for a Pork Belly dish, but Belly of Pork (unless it's cured into Bacon) is a protein I will not eat. There's not much I won't stuff down my gullet, but Pork Belly is one. I just don't like that much fat. The good news? More for YOU! But I digress... The 'Scargots were classic in prep and top-notch in quality. As expected there was a lagniappe course in sopping pieces of the excellent baguette provided from the bread service in the garlicky butter remaining after munching the snails. It was a Hanger Steak wot arrived on my plate replete with an herb-y compound butter. I ordered the steak "Rare-Bleu", and it was the perfect temp, even with serious char marking. The steak was chunk-cut when served. I blessed the chef for seasoning the steak deftly. The Frites came with ketchup and aioli, they were great. There was nothing out of the ordinary about my pals burger, but he IS a knowledgeable foodie and reported it was delicious. Burgers are pretty easy to do, but to get one of championship quality takes skill. Notable were the two rashers of excellent, thick Bacon hanging over the sides of the sandwich. The chef here hit the mark! The Predominantly French WineList is dizzying expensive for bottles. My pal is an experienced oenophile and says the list shows care, but Oy! the prices! He's a very successful businessman, and even HE thought the prices were high. In contrast, the "per glass" prices were normal. LeCochon IS in a posh neighborhood, after all. I had a glass of Rhône blend which was hand-in-glove with my steak. Flavors outasite! Fine coffee and a classic Crème Brûlée for afters. I know somewhere behind the bar they prolly had a Calvados, which would have topped the meal off with a gold ribbon, but I was driving, and there are many miles between LeCochon and Stately Breakwind Manor. A wonderful feed, and a surprisingly good value considering the high quality. I'll bet that "light and airy" vibe turns quite romantic after dark; but know the tables are actually quite cozy together. There are a few booths available-try to snarf one of those if you're on a date. Throwing 5 for this super boîte. Eat here soon!

When it comes to the food, most items on the menu can actually be made gluten-free, but they aren't marked on the menu and they do not offer a separate gluten-free menu. Our server did let us know right away that they were out of three of their entree items. For my meal, I started with the gluten-free soup which comes with gluten-free noodles, and it was really good. However, I didn't really like any of the remaining entrees they had left available, so I decided to order sides instead. The server mentioned that most of the sides are or can be made gluten-free. I chose the creamy mashed potatoes and the brussel sprouts, specifically requesting the sprouts without croutons. When the food arrived, the brussel sprouts unfortunately had croutons on them. I pointed it out to the server, and she immediately said she would have them remade for me. While I am very glad I caught the mistake before eating them, it is something to watch out for. The Birria egg rolls were a bit on the smaller side but made a big impression with its preparation. I've never had birria wrapped in anything as crispy as the wonton wrapper this was wrapped in. The birria was flavorful while being tender and not being too salty. The white cheddar and chihuahua cheese added a small amount of extra saltiness and a bit more fat, which matched well with the chipotle aiola. The duck poutine was incredibly flavorful, while sitting on the edge of potentially being too bold. The fries were incredibly crispy though there was quite a bit of gravy on the dish and the white cheddar cheese curds did a great job of keeping the entire dish hot throughout the meal, while adding a little bit of extra flavor. The bacon and onion added some umami though it almost made the dish a bit too salty and the duck confit added a nice protein element. Overall a little pricey, but given the more unique menu and quality of both the flavors and textures, it's worth the premium.
