Perfect match and will definitely get again... maybe even I'll get all flavors lol. Btw I love seeing the NITRO coming out the kitchen aids, such a cool scene. I love the colors in the store, orange spoons and white kitchen aids are so different but I love it plus the aesthetics thru-out the store was cute. This place is not NICE on the wallet. But pro-tip they sometimes have a 15% off if you check-in on Yelp! The staff is super friendly and the place is quaint but has a handful of tables inside and outside. They justify the high price tag by whipping the ice cream with liquid nitrogen in a mixer. Although cool I didn't think it added much to the experience and was little gimmicky. I tried the cookie dough which was solid and not too sweet. My friend tried one of their seasonal flavors (lavender honey) and it tasted like neither. I think they use the same base for most of their flavors because hers tasted very similar to mine and both were good quality. I think the flavors are hit or miss, but unfortunately you can't sample them! I think this place is a good treat, but overall I'm not sure I'd go back. read more

Yum yum! Delicious ice cream. We got the regular size, which comes with two flavors. We chose milk chocolate and cold brew, which were both very good individually but also tasted great together. Nicecream was a disappointment for me. I left empty-handed and unsatisfied. I was the only person in the shop that afternoon and the ambiance was quiet, but the server was monosyllabic with his explanation of what the shop offers. I had time so I hung back to see what other patrons ordered when they arrived. I found out that only a few flavors are available as a single serving, the bulk of their flavors are packaged as pints. I didn't find any single serving flavors that I really wanted but I was already there and settled for their seasonal pumpkin offering, only to find that they don't accept cash. The food choice, curt service, and lack of payment options made me feel that this wasn't meant to be. I left and went to do errands elsewhere before heading back to DC. Nicecream is one of my family's favorite ice cream places. We've only been here five times over the past year since we come from the Mount Vernon area, but we still make the drive. However, one area for improvement is the consistency in scoop size and the thickness of the milkshakes since the staff changes. I'm not sure if $8.99 for a watery milkshake is what the new staff was trained to make. I asked the gentleman behind the counter to remake the shake, but it came out thin again, resembling chocolate milk. The staff explained that they usually make it that way: one-third ice cream to two-thirds milk? (A video is included.) First come, first served? Not today at this place. The people behind us in line received their ice cream first, and their portions were visibly larger. The workers had difficulty managing the line when it got too long, especially since there were only two people on staff. The wait extended out to the street, and five people ended up walking away. I hope this will help management make some changes because the neglected interior and worn-out mixers are making the novelty of watching ice cream being made diminish, especially when the prices don't match the service or quality control. Lastly, either raise the partitions higher or train the staff to be more careful when pouring the nitrogen, as the splash goes over the partition and hits customers when the liquid nitrogen is being poured and mixed. Remember the case where McDonald's didn't think anyone would sue for being burned by hot coffee, and then someone did and won millions? They were forced to put warnings on the lids of every hot beverage. These are just some thoughts for improvement, but it's up to you whether you want to address the suggestions since it is your business, not mine. read more

They upcharge the ice cream here because they make it instantly with nitrogen, but this pretty much just tastes like regular ice cream. My tip is that 2 flavor scoops is much cheaper and more worth it than one ($6). We got the pumpkin spice which deliciously tasted just like pumpkin pie. The blueberry pie flavor had a lot of actual blueberries and went nicely with the pumpkin spice. Interior is also really cute with many ice cream puns. Despite them mixing the ice cream, service is pretty fast! Only downside is that you can't sample flavors so hopefully you like the flavor you choose, which we did. read more

I went here on a late night ice cream run with my sibling and was pleasantly surprised. They only have a few flavors on their menu, which I believe is limited by the number of KitchenAid stand mixer that they have to mix their batches with the liquid nitrogen. My brother was a little upset because they didn't have any "regular" flavors, but the woman that took our orders, was very helpful and they were able to accommodate him, which made him very happy. The place is on the smaller side, but there is seating with tables for people that would like to sit in and have their ice cream with like three friends. The woman that helped us was very kind and accommodating as stated before, so I had no problems with the service that was there. I got the Nutella ice cream, which was really good and I enjoyed it. You get all of the notes of the chocolate and hazelnut in a very nice, smooth ice cream base. The reason I took off a star is because the ice cream scoop that the woman who prepared the ice cream is used wasn't very clean. When she pulled it out of the container it was sitting in, there was still chocolate residue from someone else's ice cream on it, but because it was chocolate residue, and I was getting a chocolate based ice cream, I didn't say anything. A cute little establishment that I've been meaning to stop by for almost a year. They have a limited selection of flavors but their fun seasonal flavors more than make up for the lack of options. What we got: Sampler - 5* I loooove samplers. Nice team seems to only carry 6 flavors at a time so this is a great way to sample everything they have in store, perfect for a new customer like myself. While I didn't all the flavors (see below) I did love the concept and being able to try everything. I do wish they were more conservative with the spoons. Each of the six flavors had its own spoon and I, for one, would've been happy with just one spoon. Candy cane crunch - 5* I was surprised how much I enjoyed this (I've had bad candy cane ice cream before). It's a very refreshing ice cream and I'd get it again. Nutella - 5* I feel like I'm dipping my spoon into the Nutella jar and it's wonderful! Cranberry craze - 3.5-4* nice smooth ice cream and I loved the fresh cranberries. Vanilla chocolate chunk - 3.5* a nice, basic vanilla with chocolate chunks. Really isn't more to say. Apple pie - 2.5* the flavoring felt pretty artificial, I wasn't a fan. It's almost like a chemical after taste. My partner does not taste the chemical after taste. I always found tit hard to eat and unsatisfying. But Nicecream uses stand mixers to make batches of flavors on demand with nitrogen so it comes out creamy and in the typical form you expect ice cream to be in (scoops). The results are great. Parking is as expected in Arlington, just gotta find street parking. The portion size is pretty small (see pic) but small spoon makes it not seem so bad.
