Surprisingly, I didn't get an answering machine, I got a live person that was attentive and very professional. I got Calvin and I was sold. We made the appointment for the same day and lets just say that he has "earned" a lifelong customer. In fact, this review is the pre-cursor to the verbal and written notice of severance of service that I am going to give to my (soon to be previous) pest control company. Now, let me tell you about my service experience. At the appointed time, Calvin and his crew arrived and they are a handsome bunch so I now had excellent service and eye candy to add to the collection of professional experiences. Moving on, Calvin's team blew and inspected my garage so it was sparkling clean AND treated for pests. They used sustainable bug repellent outside my home, which smelled really good in the autumn wind. Ok, so if the presentation, professionalism wasn't enough... Lets move on to the educational experience and what exactly cemented my understanding that I can never have another exterminator take care of my place. Calvin illuminated areas that existed that I was not aware of. He pulled out my stove, my refrigerator, and shined the cool light that he had light attached to his forehead so that I could see what was really going on behind my appliances. He cleaned and sealed the holes and this was more than any other exterminator had ever done. When he wrote the bill up (which I was glad to pay), he educated me on exactly they types of chemicals used and the amounts of concentrations of the active ingredients. Terminix Lied About Termites and Made My Dog and Me Sick -- $5,400 Paid, $5,000+ in Damage…read more Warning to homeowners: Terminix misrepresented termite activity to sell an expensive contract, and the insulation and chemicals they installed made both my dog and me sick. I paid $5,400+ to Terminix, and after remediation work and vet bills, the total damage is well over $10,000. Salesperson Wayne Beirola claimed my home had active termite issues and pushed their most expensive service bundle. After the contract was signed, a Terminix technician later admitted there was no termite activity, which was also confirmed by a separate home inspection report. Despite this, you are locked into a 12-month contract that is extremely difficult to cancel. I spent months calling repeatedly just to stop the renewal. The bigger issue came after their work began. Terminix installed insulation and applied chemical treatments that caused serious air quality problems in my home. Both my dog and I became sick. I ultimately had to hire another company to remove all of the insulation Terminix installed and replace it with non-toxic foam insulation, adding thousands in additional costs. Another issue is their termite bait system. The bait stations remain Terminix's property, meaning if you cancel service they remove or disable them. Other pest companies I use install similar systems for about $500 upfront and the stations remain with the home, with no recurring ownership fees. Between the misrepresentation during the sale, the health issues caused by their work, and the extremely difficult cancellation process, this has been one of the worst service experiences I've had. Homeowners should be very cautious before signing anything with Terminix.

Terminix has refused to terminate his contract stating he purchased an annual agreement even though he moved and doesn't own the home. They stated the contract automatically renews unless we contact them in July. They will take phone calls, but never do what they say in following up after supposedly escalating and calling back. In my judgment they have taken advantage of a senior. This morning we received two texts at 7:26 AM eastern time where they are providing service even though we let them know my brother does not own the property. This morning's service cost $152.

A lady ( I can't remember her name) called me back and asked a few questions. She knew her information, was professional and informative. She told me my options and set the next available appt. The technician arrived with his son in tow. Showing him the business!! We talked, they sprayed and left. Pretty simple. All of my questions were answered. On Target told me if I saw anymore bugs to call them and they would make it right. I liked that. After the treatment, I have seen 3 bugs. The 1st was a few days after treatment. He was on his back! The 2nd was a spider and I smashed him. The last 1 I saw was over a month ago and it was a little small thing so I squashed him.
