Absolutely the worst I have eaten for breakfast! I ordered a focaccia roll with ham & cheese. The bread was ok but it was a Kraft cheese slice with two slices of Oscar Meyer cheese. The sparkling water $4. The sandwich was $5.99. Would never go back! I felt like I could have made a better breakfast home. The view off the deck is overlooking an adorable brook. The deck had tons of bird poop and ants everywhere! Not one of my beat finds!

Wanted to love this place, who doesn't love a local coffee shop? But the coffee was absolutely awful, not even drinkable.

Went here for the first time, and am probably wavering between a 3.5 and a 4 -- but rounded up to 4…read morebecause of our lovely server, Louie. My friend and I both had burgers, which were delicious -- but what were REALLY awesome were the french fries. Slim, perfectly cooked and salted -- hoo mama. Other reviewers have mentioned that the menu has more of an Asian influence -- this continues to be true, and in fact, when we return I'd like to try some of those more specifically Asian or Asian-inspired dishes. One thing I perceived, though, was that the pickles on the burger were brined in something that tasted almost seafood-y -- I'm allergic so I don't think it was actual fish sauce or something, but something that gave it a slight fishy taste, like when you have seaweed. Anyway, that was the only thing I didn't care for -- but it didn't bother me enough to not want to try again! We loved the ambience and the location was also super convenient with free parking in the back. I'll update my review after my next visit!

3.5 stars We were on…read moreour way home from a road trip and were looking for a great lunch spot on our route, when we came across Foundry Kitchen and Tavern, which was located in the quaint town of Sandy Hook. As we drove through the village, we saw the restaurant on our left-hand side. It was housed in a historical brick building with a sprawling deck overlooking the Pootatuk River. It was a beautifully sunny day, so I immediately suggested that we dine outside. Unfortunately for us, the part of the balcony that was covered and offering live acoustic music was completely full. That meant that we were seated on the far edge of the patio with no shield from the strong sun or any ability to hear the tunes. In addition to the unideal seating, the food took a very long time to arrive, so I just sat there roasting. The server offered to move us inside, but we stuck it out for the view. I had ordered the Fattoush Salad with Chicken. The Mediterranean bowl included mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, kalamata olives, and fried naan croutons, though I had omitted the red onion that was also supposed to be in the blend. I had asked for the red wine vinaigrette on the side and wound up not using much of it. The salad was fresh and tasty, but the chicken had an odd preparation. It was not grilled (like I would have hoped for a healthy salad topper) and not deep-fried, but was roasted or pan-fried or something, which I had not expected. It had a crispy skin, but remained reasonably tender at least. I also grabbed a few of my partner's fries, which were excellent. After we wrapped up the meal, I stopped inside to cool off and use the facilities, which consisted of a singular, unisex bathroom in the corner of the rustic dining room. There was a bit of a line, and they could certainly have benefitted from additional restrooms. I really did like the antique atmosphere at Foundry Kitchen and Tavern, but I think that the heat just made the experience a bit challenging for me. I would definitely consider returning, but would be more diligent in my seating and food selections.

Five stars for food. A million for service!…read more We didn't have a reservation for dinner. This was one of the few places with vegan/vegetarian options. Courtney was amazing, fitting us in for New Year's Eve. The place did not disappoint. Fantastic service and food at exceptional value. exceptions were happily made for restricted diets. Bread had cinnamon and butter - delicious. Children's steak was perfectly prepared - delicious. Chicken sandwich - delicious. Tuna and salmon - delicious.

The restaurant itself is mine and my hubby's vibe! We love the rustic, dimly lit look in a restaurant! We started with sharing the empanadas. They were delicious. He ordered the butternuts squash raviolis and I ordered the bistro steak frites. (I asked for the fries to exclude the truffle aioli because I cannot stand the smell of anything truffle oil flavored. I substituted it with garlic aioli and asked for a side of bbq sauce for my steak!) Everything was cooked to perfection. Time wise, we were in and out within a timely manner which is very important to me. There is nothing better than going in, getting served right away and then not sitting around waiting for the check! I will definitely be back if I'm ever in the area again. I plan to check out their Danbury location one of these days!

Also there was no music playing or anything so the emptiness of the place really made our conversation echo. The waitress who was also the hostess was very nice and helpful as we decided what we wanted to order. After being seated we were given bread which was paired with regular olive oil and vinegar, which was odd to me because normally if it's olive oil at least it's like mixed with something like garlic or butter. I ordered the cinnamon maple old fashioned and arancini to start and these items really wowed me. The old fashioned had an ice sphere with bits of fruit that definitely enhanced my appreciation of the drink. The arancini appetizer was also very good, especially with the basil pesto, and there was enough to share. For dinner I had the cacio pepe al funghi with a breaded chicken add-on. The chicken itself was good but I didn't realize how thin it would be so that was kind of disappointing. Pappardelle is also a very filling noodle, and normally cacio e pepe comes with a thinner noodle like spaghetti or tonnarelli, but it was good. While I didn't order the chicken marsala I did also try it and they did a great job with the sauce! Compared to the chicken I got though, the marsala chicken was a lot tougher, almost like a well done steak. Overall it seems like a nice enough place, maybe we just have to come back at a better time and choose a different dish.

They have seating inside and outside, with Coca Cola soda machines and bottles both available. The cashier brought out my food, which is so hot the pan had a cover on the handle. Bread crumbs were recommended and enjoyed. It's still huge, even if you get a single portion. The one sad thing was for the dishes that included red sauce (looking at you, pizza mac), it was spaghetti. There was no cheese sauce mixed in, and I hate spaghetti in general. The ones with cheese sauce were fun and delicious. Not many people ate in, but there was a brisk take xout business.

The restaurant itself is located in a plaza with some other businesses, and honestly it doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside is pretty plain as well, with little decor. But what they lack in flash, they make up for in delicious mac & cheese! Their menu has so many options it's almost overwhelming! In fact, I counted 25 different varieties of mac & cheese that they offer. Everything from traditional mac & cheese with bread crumbs, to mac ala vodka, to mac pizza, mac gumbo, mac sloppy joe, mac philly steak and cheese, and more! The female employee behind the counter was friendly, and listed off some of their more popular varieties to give me ideas. I went with the MacDaddy, their most popular dish, which has all the ingredients of a Big Mac (even down to the sesame seeds) served over mac & cheese. It was amazing!!! I also got the Mac Ranch, which had fried chicken, bacon, and ranch dressing. Also excellent! They have three sizes of skillets that you can order, the "snack" (small), "mac" (medium), and "macdaddy" (large). I got the snack size for both, and even just one was more than enough to fill me up! Overall, an excellent mac & cheese spot that you can go back to multiple times and not get the same thing twice. I would definitely recommend!
