Our belongings were packing with a lot of care into boxes and furniture wrapped super well to prepare for a few months of storage and then a long distance move. The guys really went above and beyond to pack our pods really efficiently and maximized every bit of space. With that said we didn't end up having enough room so we scrambled and Adam made a storage and moving solution work for us for what we had remaining. It was a relief to have a versatile company step up and help with what could have been a huge problem for us. They provided an estimate with an upper maximum limit that we were comfortable with. Arrangements were made via email and over the phone, and the office staff were always courteous and responsive. We needed to get the things moved within a few weeks and they were willing and able to come based on our schedule. The team of four were on time and they were incredibly agile and strong. On moving day we received text updates on their arrival time. The team communicated and worked well with each other. They were fastidious about keeping track of their time, which we appreciated. For example, they stopped for lunch and deducted their time from the total. The movers were extremely careful and I was amazed at how efficient they were. They wrapped and boxed up items carefully so that nothing would be damaged. I was impressed watching them in action. A piano and pool table were included in the move and they had to navigate a few steps for these heavy items. We were just moving some large furniture from 1st floor up a narrow winding staircase to the 2nd floor, which there was no way we could do ourselves. Several other movers stated they would need 3 people and extra equipment and quoted us over double the prices that JH quoted. Not only that, JH was FAST to schedule and very fast to complete the job!! On the day of they came with just two people, assessed the area and my staircase with the naked eye, and proceeded to fit our large dresser up the stairs at just the right angle so nothing hit or scraped any edges! Very impressed by how efficient they were. They also helped us move some desks up and down and helped my husband lift / install the TV onto a wall stand (wall stand already mounted on the wall) as a last min request, which we would have had trouble doing ourselves. Can't comment to how they are with a full-on move but definitely the best we found for quick, small moving help and we did get quotes from a bunch of places. It helps too that they did not have a 2 or 3 hour minimum charge like some other moving companies, since our job did not take that long.

During the move, the driver hit and disconnected a cable line at our origin, knocking out service and creating additional stress while I was managing work on the backend. Accidents happen, but it set the tone. More concerning was how the bed itself was handled. The movers arrived without tools and used ours to disassemble it. When they reassembled the bed, they failed to properly tighten the screws, and one of the four critical support pieces that hold the bed frame together was missing entirely. I didn't discover this until a few weeks later, when the bed nearly collapsed. I have a baby and a dog at home, and the situation could have ended very badly. If a part was lost or damaged, we would have appreciated transparency. Instead, we were left with an unsafe setup and no communication. We tipped 20% at the time, assuming the job had been done properly, which makes the situation even more disappointing. I reached out to the company afterward and never received a response. Terrible...
