The fam decided to order Newk's for lunch today. I love that you are able to add so many different options to my sandwich. My sis recommended the chicken salad sandwich and she usually knows good food so I got the same. I liked that you are able to add so many different options to your order for free. I added honey mustard, caramelized onions and pickles. The sandwich also comes with chips. The food came quickly and well packaged. I was a bit bummed when I opened my chicken sandwich. I'm used to sandwiches overflowing with meat and I felt like I had more bread than anything. My sister said the same about her chicken salad sandwich and noted that it is typically not like this. I took it as Newk's trying to watch my calorie intake and just kind of cut away the bread pieces on the end of the sandwich. The part of the sandwich that actually had things on it was good and flavorful. Decent chicken salad with large chunks of chicken. I tried to eat only one half of the sandwich and save the rest for later but ate it all at once because it was that good. Another one of my fam got the club sandwich and that was a very hefty sandwich. I was a bit jealous of all the meat. I had a sweet tooth and decided to get strawberry cake. Now this cake is GOOD! I wish I had gotten a pic of the full cake before biting into it but totally got sidetracked. I want to try the red velvet next. All in all, solid decision for lunch. read more

I ordered 4 pizzas 2 salads and 4 desserts. I usually never order Greek salad at a restaurant because they usually don't have good Greek dressings or good ingredients. I was totally impressed with both the dressing and the ingredients! Real Kalamata olives and even lots of artichoke hearts. The dressing seems homemade. The pizzas were good and I he desserts homemade. It was great and I'm very happy to find a good pick up dinner place! Thanks for caring in the quality of your food. This is a very nice and clean Newk's. The cashier was friendly, but I had to repeat my order and my mom's order about 6 times. It was quite aggravating. The food came out fast and was very hot. The servers are good, as are the other employees. The strawberry cake was oily, but that was okay since the food was good. I ordered the grill chicken sandwich with avocado, and it is so tasty and filling. The price is about $10 and change with water. You also get one side and I chose chips. If you want a salad, it's about $2 more, and they serve very large side salads!! I've been back one other time and I will continue to come back! read more

FRESH! This place is a great spot for lunch or light dinner. They have a simple, yet enticing menu. Gourmet sandwiches - made-to-order personal pizzas to salads, including the Southern salad which is one of my likes. Their dressing and cheese is heavenly. Not to mention they've got a full condiment bar with croutons, pickles, breadsticks, extra cheese (what?!), etc. It's an upgraded condiment bar lol. Pricing is pretty affordable. They have lunch combos where you get half x item and half x item. no drink included. My favorite combo is the pesto chicken sandwich & mac n cheese or sometimes Caesar salad. I needed lunch and a place with WiFi for approximately three hours while my maid cleaned the house. I saw this new location and confirmed that they had free WiFi so decided to give it a chance. What I liked- plenty of free parking. Friendly cashier taking orders up front. The menu is organized and concise with a variety to please vegetarians, pescatarians and meat eaters. The dining area and beverage area were clean and well lit with nice decor. The free WiFi was easy to connect and fast enough for me to work. What could use improvement- I ordered the shrimp po boy sandwich and the roasted red pepper and tomato soup. The sandwich was described as containing 12 shrimp that were marinated in their specialty sauce and served on a French roll. The sandwich arrived on a ciabatta type bread that was fresh but somewhat tough to chew. Instead of the quoted 12 shrimp only two were on the left side of the sandwich and five on the other side. The shrimp were bland and devoid of the marinade described on the menu. A big disappointment. I will order something else on my next visit. The soup was described as vegetarian by the cashier. I made it clear that I don't eat meat. The bowl of soup arrived with two large chunks of smoked pork. I was on a 90 minute conference call with a webinar when my food arrived so I was unable to complain. I fished out the pork and ate the soup. They need to clearly identify food that is described vegetarian on the menu but then contains meat. Overall I was disappointed with my food. The Newks in Brookhaven is better and I hope this location will improve with time. I do plan to visit this location again for a second chance. read more

It had a good flavor since the pizza was dry. It was kind of like soup with breadsticks. Had a garden salad with greek and balsamic dressing. It was cool. The croutons were good. The servers were kind, but not the most coherent. It was an overall decent dine-in experience. The ice machine dispenser handle broke while i was trying to get some ice. I was here for lunch and have ordered for half sandwich and half soup. So my order was a Newk's "Q" sandwich which is a sliced flame-grilled chicken, bacon, Ammerländer Swiss cheese and white BBQ sauce served on French Parisian bread. My cup of soup to it which is Chicken Tortilla, A rich chicken broth loaded with chicken and vegetables and seasoned with a touch of Ancho chilies, corn masa and cilantro. Both tasted really yummy. Then I had an order of 12 layered Strawberry Cake as my dessert for the day. I loved it. Food tasted great. Newk's is a good spot for salads, soups, sandwiches and desserts. The side bar is great, try the pickles. Service was fast. It reminds me of Panera Bread in that you order at the counter and someone brings your meal to you. I do like the idea of a restaurant that makes its own salad dressings. They also have a station with various toppings for sandwiches and salads. The restaurant appears very clean on the inside, and the staff are very friendly. They do have a "To Go" counter. This place is something to please everyone. This is a hidden gem! First time here and the food was so delicious!! This is a great spot to go to during lunch if you want something healthy, light and refreshing. They get busy during lunch time so try to get there before the crowd rush hour. The sandwich has a fresh taste that makes you want to go back and order another sandwich. I got the soup of the day which was Broccoli & Cheese. It was so delicious and creamy. The menu has several options from sandwiches, soups and salads. It's a little pricey but the food is worth the money. The sandwiches range from $7.99-$10.99. I went with the "choose two" option where you get a half sandwich and a soup(their soup of the day) for $8.69. Love everything about this place . I'm a soup and sandwich kind of girl and they hit the spot every time . They also have WiFi . So I came in with my laptop and got so much done . It's a nice atmosphere . My order was slightly wrong only because I added something to my sandwich that i assume isn't normally added which is understandable . The best part is I only knew because when the manager brought out my food she apologized for the wait (which wasn't long to me) because she caught the error and had them remake it . That's amazing service ! I never would've known . Can't wait to try the pizza . I went to this location because it is the closest to my house but I prefer the Perimeter location. I had a bday offer free meal wyb a drink so I went here for dinner. I got the bbq chicken pizza I give it a 6/10. The chicken they use is lunch meat and not actual chicken breast. The pizza was ok but soggy in the middle. They do keep this location clean and no funny smells. Next time I will stick with the pepperoni AMD sausage pizza. I received the best customer service from Tobey and the manager Reggie! I am vegan with a dairy and egg allergy and ordered an item which I thought would be fine. After I had ordered, Tobey took it upon himself to confirm with the kitchen to make sure there were no dairy or egg products, and caught my error. The manager Reggie was so kind in making sure I had a filling meal to eat with my sister and prepared something off-menu. I have gone to higher end restaurants that were not accommodating to my dietary restrictions even when with a party of 20+ people. Stopped by for last minute dinner tonight. We saw that Newk's closed at 9:30 pm​ so we figured we had about 40 minutes till​ then. That was not the case. The service here has declined since the last time I visited. We felt very unwelcomed walking in. We expected to dine in real quick and ordered the Southwestern Grilled Shrimp Cesar with Chipotle Adobo Dressing and a Half and Half order of Pesto Chicken sandwich and Crawfish Soup. We received a table number and I sat down at one of the booths. Within 2 minutes, the staff member who took my order came over to tell me that we were not allowed to dine here because they were closing in 5 minutes --it was 8:55 pm. We noted that there were still 3 occupied tables. When the food arrived in to-go containers, another staff member said we could eat here. She just didn't want to serve our food on plates/bowls because the dishwasher was cleaning up. That was understandable​ I guess, but we weren't given any utensils or napkins. We felt like our food was just thrown together quickly so they could get us out of there. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience. Customer service needs improvement. read more

I stopped in for a quick lunch meeting on a Saturday afternoon. The cashier wasn't friendly at all and acted like I was bothering her by asking what their sides were. It was my first time there and I didn't know but she wasn't helpful. The person I met for lunch said this was a normal occurrence so I may not come to this particular location again. On a good note, my chicken pesto sandwich was delicious. I've had many chicken pesto sandwiches but none with goat cheese. Goat cheese makes everything better! This is the second (of, apparently now, three) Atlanta-area Newk's locations to where I've been, this being the newest. I've gone to the Brookhaven/Druid Hills location a few times. This one is no surprise, and meets what seems to be the mold, though the layout is different and more upscale-feeling. The Brookhaven location's condiments table is closer to the beverage station than this one, which took me a little to get used to. My Dad corralled his two sons and we set the date to meet here for lunch (both my brother and he have never been to a Newk's before). My brother, though, has had experience eating in similar places, but, like me, previewed the menu to see what he would have to keep things moving. Our Dad, though, took a little bit to acclimate. The menu items at this location seem to skew more pizza than Brookhaven, the pizzas being the first thing one sees, then the sandwiches, and then the "others". I don't remember there being so many pizza options, but it has been almost a year since the last time I've been, so they may have gone a different brand direction. When we'd finally gotten to order -- as with the other(s), one orders and pays first and then they deliver your meal to your table -- with Daddy getting the loaded potato soup, me the veggie pizza, and my brother the barbecued chicken pizza. My brother confessed he was vacillating between the sandwich and the pizza (because apparently they have a barbecued chicken sandwich too), but he'd gone with the pizza. We all went with water (though we had to instruct Daddy that getting water cups mean water and not fountain drinks just because you weren't sure where the water is; [dual facepalm]). I, personally, love sandwiches because one can eat while reading. The last time I'd had a Newk's sandwich, though, it was a veggie sandwich with three cheeses and it was falling apart messily. So, I went with the pizza. Our food arrived, me digging in European-style (fork and knife). The pizza trays don't seem to be that sturdy because they were getting little dents as I cut the pizza slices into smaller bits. The veggie pizza included halved artichokes, so that presentation I didn't expect. It was delicious, though. Daddy wolfed down his soup (and with good intentions offered his non-pork-eating-otherwise-omnivore and vegetarian sons samples; #aiya), and my brother went to town with his own pizza, adding pepper from the condiment table. He said he felt he'd enjoyed this a lot more than he would have, probably, the sandwich. It was as nice an environment as I'd expected, with comfortable volume for conversation and a myriad of people (including a pair at another table Daddy side-eyed because the fit, handsome one [my observation, not his! lol] had his shod feet in the booth chair) who all seemed happy with their choices and the location. Unlike, apparently, other stores in Tucker Meridian that have had their customer interaction "opportunities", the staff were even-handedly professional and courteous (in fact, the woman who was delivering our food was very tentative in handing me my pizza because she didn't, and said so, want to stretch in front of Daddy's face and over his food to do so). Located at the other end of the shopping center by Cricket. They recently opened. The staff is very friendly. I use there to-go option. I love the Newk's "Q" pizza and sandwich. That white bbq sauce is to die for. There is plenty of space inside and plenty of shared parking. If you are in the area give it a try. You will not be disappointed. read more

Checked the website the other night before going with a friend, it said they closed at 7. Got there at 6 and was informed the dining room had closed at 5 that day due to short staffing. There were only three employees working and they were all scrambling, so definitely doing the best they could but still an hour is too long for one sandwich and one salad. read more

The one reason that I go to Newks is because I love their shrimp avocado salad. Beware if you like this salad. They have changed the shrimp to a Cajun shrimp and it was so spicy that I could hardly eat it. Very disappointing. The customer service was good. First time and it wasn't that bad. Came in with my husband at lunch time and were helped and served fairly quickly. Good customer service and clean area. We both did the half and half, and without drinks paid 20 bucks. He had the chicken salad sandwich which was good but could of done without the honey mustard that drenched it. His lobster bisque was flavorful and rich. I had the grilled steak and a simply salad with ginger wasabi dressing. I personally loved the dressing. I had never been to this Newk's location before, but I love Newk's so I wanted to try it. From the moment I entered, I was glad I had stopped. I was pleasantly greeted by the staff. The cashier who took my order was very helpful with my menu questions and explained anything I wasn't sure of. The restaurant was VERY clean and orderly. The music played at a comfortable volume. There was another member of the staff who was constantly in the lobby ensuring cleanliness and that customers were satisfied. She very kind-natured and friendly. I come just for the food and definitely not the service. While I was waiting for my food a young lady cake and told me they are short staffed. Although the dining room was technically open til 7:30 pm, I had to dine on the patio. I was cool with the patio but the perception is that they weren't short staffed. They were just too lazy to clean tables and dishes. Me and few other customers complained amongst ourselves. They give u the impression that Gov. Kemp said all Georgia businesses had to open fully, they still wanted to keep us out and do curbside and take out only. I hate curb side or eating on the go. Also, last time I came here, another lady packed my food to go. I asked her for a fork since I was eating it in the car. She told me she was out. I asked her to wrap a metal fork in a napkin so I could use that. She said no. I asked her to ask for the manager. She said she was the manager. How egregious that she believes this is how you take care of a customer that just spent $25 for lunch for one person. She wanted me to eat a salad with honey mustard in the car with NO FORK! She was short, petite, stocky build with short cropped hair like a boy, Today, when I went to refill my drink, thru had people cleaning the tables inside with no customers. Outside however, no one was cleaning or bussing tables. Trash was piling up attracting bees. Almost got stung twice. No one bothered to clean the patio from 3:10 pm to 4:53 pm. Unacceptable! Garlic! Garlic! Garlic! OK, so did I mention that they have amazing garlic? I really love Newk's eatery for a lot of reasons. First of all, I have been eating a fairly healthy diet now for several months, and every time I go to nukes I'm able to accomplish exactly what I need to get my adequate source of lean protein and vegetables. The salads they serve here are ample, and prepared with a really stellar ingredients. The service that they provide, I think a second to none at a quick casual restaurant like this. Oh yes, and where I started all of this with the garlic. If you've never been to a nukes, in the middle of the room there is a station where you can get pepperoncini , small breadsticks, and garlic among a few other things. The garlic is truly to die for. It is perfectly roasted, or marinated, or whatever it is they do to it. And the best part of the station, is that you can have as much as you want. read more

After several visits, it's okay. Some things are hit or miss. Their salads have too much dressing and are overpriced in my opinion. But their soups are really good (especially lobster bisque). It's cool they have an area where you can add to your meal, such as mini breadsticks, crackers, etc. Service is usually very good, and everyone is helpful. I will start by saying that all of the negative reviews about closing early and wrong hours are true, but unfortunately this is a problem that 9/10 businesses are facing at this moment in time since finding people who WANT to work is extremely rare. With that being said, I wanted to shine some light onto my local Newk's from my experience today. I came in for a quick lunch during a rush. Only one person taking orders, but that was okay because it moved quickly and the person taking orders was very friendly! Once I sat down it took less than 10 minutes for my food to be brought out which was delicious. But I really wanted to bring attention to the fabulous human that brought it to me. She introduced herself as "Joy" and, boy, was she that! The entire 30 minutes I spent gobbling my chicken bacon club, joy was all over the restaurant bringing out food, asking if anyone needed anything, bringing out additional sauces, refilling drinks, etc. I have never witnessed this type of service in a restaurant that doesn't have true waiters/waitresses. I ate at Newk's twice in July, the first time at the suggestion of a friend, and the second time because I kept thinking about the food. The pizza was great both times! I am very particular about my plain cheese, because while it's easy to make good, it's just as easy to make terribly. On both visits, I called in my order, and my personal / small cheese pizza was ready right as I arrived to pay. I eat almost all things with a side of bleu cheese, and their bleu cheese was EXCELLENT! It tasted house made, (and if it wasn't, I've been fooled!). The dining area was closed to eating in, but the space was large and was very clean. The staff was efficient and separated lines for those paying cash versus card, and tending to online and call in orders quickly. It's now my go to spot for plain cheese pizza when I'm visiting the area! read more
