Love it!!! We had a great dinner yesterday! Kalani, AJ and Shirley were so welcoming from the moment we entered the Restaraunt! The food was fresh and prepared well and the salad bar is the best kept you'll find anywhere. Every time I looked over at the salad bar it was being refilled or maintained to perfection. It was great to see how everyone that worked there treated each other with respect, they were all genuinely smiling and it made our day just to be around nice people that cared about their jobs and did their jobs really well. I usually have a very good experience at the Lavista store. This one however is a disaster no ice not fully stocked did not have what I wanted to order. Promotion offered was rescinded not that they ran out but they never had it ( cookies). Staff was very rude. Never again. Not this store anyway. This was my first time visiting this Jason's Deli location and I was pleasantly surprised. It was nice, big, and clean. The service was great. I asked for extra cheese on my grilled cheese and the lady who put in my order made sure that I received extra cheese on my grilled cheese sandwich. I got the grilled cheese/ tomato soup combo which is my usual go to order and I got the strawberry Shortcake for dessert. My food was amazing. Freshest food and the cleanest, well-tended salad bar! The staff is welcoming, polite and helpful. But management is not supporting them or eat-in customers with enough cashiers, not adjusting to long lines, failing to open a second cash register, but instead prioritizing bagging up takeout orders. Love this location to break bread with friends and family. They have accessible seating, entrance and parking spots. Ample of indoor seating with options of tables, stools, or booth. Ordered their caprese panini, and a build your own and both were served to order and warm. Ingredients are always fresh. The sides were a good potion for both Mac n Cheese and Soup. A lot of vegetarian and vegan options. The salad bar is great too. They did have a good amount of dessert options too. The staff is friendly and helpful. They do have reusable silverware and plates for dine in. They offer dine in, Togo and delivery through all major apps. They offer catering. They have digital and physical menus. Jason's Deli in Decatur is great! Wide variety of menu options. Good prices, especially if you set up an account to get deli bucks or order any of the specials. And super-nice people all the time! Today my order included a bowl of soup to go and and, when I was given my order, the guy who brought it to me let me know that they were out of bowls, but they were giving it to me in two cups to be sure I got the right amount. This is the restaurant's 50th or 60th anniversary and they've said that there are going to be specials and gifts in the ap all year, if you have an account. Worst Jason's Deliin Atlanta. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad. When it came it was about 1/3 the size it normally is and had NO chicken on it. Not one piece. The receipt said chicken Caesar. Not sure if the staff can't read or just chooses not to. But the management also has the crappiest attitude and customer service of any Jasons deli I've been too. I really wanted to love this location and they are fine if you're ordering in-store, but if you order online, just forget it! I have a gluten sensitivity and I don't like anyone's Gluten Free bread, so I modify each of my orders. Every time I order from this location they get it wrong. Recently I ordered a baked potato and asked for my sour cream to be on the side. There was NO sour cream at all in the bag. The time before I ordered the Wild Salmon sandwich and I asked for it to be wrapped in lettuce, instead of on a bun. I got the sandwich and it was just lettuce wrapped around the salmon. I was excited when I moved to the area a few months that there was a Jason's Deli nearby; I was having to drive to the Midtown location to meet up with friends for lunch/dinner (which is actually a nice spot, it's setup so that it could host dozens of patrons but it's not nearly as full). I've been to the Decatur location roughly half a dozen times, and have never encountered a friendly employee. Everyone seems immensely irritated that they have to be there, standing around with hands on his or in pockets. Each visit I've done curbside pickup and not once has anyone brought the order out. I go in and stand in line with those are ordering, which means you will have to acknowledge the order taker because they will NOT speak to you first. A brusque strong looking woman with a Caesar haircut who at first glance appears to be a manager seems to be the ringleader of the group, either on the phone or leaning against the counter with the other employees. Once I flag down someone who will interact with me, they either point to the prepared to-go bag sitting out on the counter or toss it to me. Tonight as I stood and waited for the woman working the register to get off the phone, another customer walked in and walked right in front of me - and the employee shoved a to-go bag into her hands and went back to the phone. I'm looking around like "what just happened here?" I interrupted the employee on the phone and asked the the bag on the counter was mine, she pushed it towards me no words spoken smh. I might give the Tucker location a try or start going back to Midtown. I can't keep patronizing with folks that couldn't care less about your business. **Secret Menu Item Review** Jason's Deli used to have this item on the menu, and when they took it off years ago, the world got a little sadder. It is a Broc and Cheese Spud. That's right. A broccoli and cheese potato. However, it's not your average broccoli and cheese potato. They take 1 1/2 potatoes (the "lighter" o e is just 1 potato, but go ahead and splurge), topped with, Broc and Cheese Soup, PLUS fresh Broc PLUS cheddar cheese PLUS bacon. This location is closest to me so I come here. I came in to pick up dinner, ordred the salad bar and cup of seafood gumbo. I had to ask them to refresh the lettuce which was done without hesitation. Ingredients are fresh and crisp. They still offer free ice cream, the strawberry shortcake is VERY good as well as the oatmeal/cranberry cookie. They have removed the puddings from the salad bar. I really wish they would bring back the chicken chili, the beef chili is HORRIBLE. parking in the plaza is a hot mess, I had to ride around twice and still not able to find a close spot. I have to take a second to shed some light on Jason's Deli. The Jason's Deli on church street in Decatur, ga to be exact. This location is phenomenal. The customer service is awesome. They are so accommodating and efficient. Delivery is always fast and friendly and correct. I work at a hospital in close proximity so my colleagues and I typically have large orders. They get it right every time right down to napkins, straws and condiments. Now let's talk about the food!!!! So far I've had the turkey sandwich, chicken Alfredo, meatball penne and kids pizza for my son and everything was delicious each time. The brownies and so so good and the cookies are too!!! I only have one tiny concern that almost made me give 4 stars and that Is about the sugar cookies. I had ordered a sugar cookie from them with my lunch about a month ago and it was the BEST sugar cookie I've had in a looooong time. Now EVERY-TIME I order lunch the sugar cookie seems to no longer be available. I'm not sure if the sugar cookie was removed from the menu or if it is just out of stock I hope it's just out of stock because if it's removed from the menu I am going to be horribly terribly disappointed. Took a friend here for lunch after her DR visit....eveything looked appetizing. Half way into my salad... an extremely long black hair was intertwined in my fork and hanging down. I'm used to leaving fairly negative reviews, but I'm so glad to say that Jason's Deli was DELICIOUS. I ordered delivery, and I've attached photos of everything that came. I got the salad bar, and a turkey sandwich with mac and cheese. 1. This salad bar is SO MUCH FOOD. They give you everything in separate containers so nothing is ruined by anything else. This is easily three meals for one person. The chocolate mousse is good, the hummus is good, and the pasta salad is good. The honey mustard dressing surprised me by being a little spicy (hot mustard), and it's so good, too. I've ordered from other salad bars in town and they're okay--they're also usually half the size of this, for more money, with less included. Not a huge fan. That being said, this is my new salad spot. Everywhere else can suck it, as far as I'm concerned. 2. The turkey sandwich is great. The pesto aoili is so good. I'm saying 'so good' a lot because I'm still so surprised at how good everything is. I've tried getting sandwiches at other places, too, only to be discouraged by how little meat there is, or how dry it is, but in this case--this sandwich was loaded with turkey, had delicious sauces on it, had a nice and soft bun. So good. 3. The macaroni as a side was like upgraded kraft. It's cheesy and needed some salt and pepper, but was otherwise good! I wouldn't come here FOR the mac and cheese, but I would get it again. We normally love Jason's Deli, but this location is just awful. The salad bar is either under stocked or completely empty, and no one is ever trying to restock or clean the times we've gone. We went a couple nights ago around 7, hours before they close. Not only was the salad bar only half stocked, they were already shutting down the ice cream. We watched as a worker dispense a good amount of ice cream. I witnessed another customer complain later, to which a worker went in the back and brought out cups of ice cream for his family-- I can only assume it was the stuff they took out earlier, which seems a bit unsanitary. My biggest complaint was the chili I ordered. I've has the chili at other locations before and really enjoyed it. What they gave me at this location tasted like Hormel canned chili-- it was cold, mushy, and just not appetizing. I didn't eat but a few bites. We were totally disappointed. read more

The service was horrible. One of those deals, the girl is doing everything but acknowledging me when I was waiting to order...her phone, talking to the manager, talking to someone else...whatever so vibes bad to begin with, after getting her attention and placing my order big surprise she didn't get the order right, which I didn't realize until after I left. The worst part, one of the girls behind the counter looked like a manager and she was as rude and horrible as the other. Missing HALF OF THE ORDER! Finally get my food after I track it down and ask for it once I realized it was done, they didn't bother to tell me it was done so I just sat there for a while thinking they're still making the food. Covid...can't find workers...I'm sure they got all the excuses. FACTS: the place was empty maybe one customer, there were like 2 or 3 girls behind the counter, one a manager, and 2 cooks. The people behind the register were just flat out rude, like they wanted to be doing anything in the world but be there. The food...blah, I got a Reuben and another sandwich that I never received. Go to Arby's, you can get two Rueben's for the same price. Or even better go to a local restaurant at least you'll get one that's worth the price. She just wanted to shove a bag at me so I could get out of there and she made a public spectacle of it - being rude, unresponsive and non-reciprocal to my kind and respectful treatment towards her. Yes - we know each other. We know when someone is FBA or not. There are Black people who don't like FBA, and just cannot hold in their hostility. Is this the case here? What is the make-up of the employee base? When too many of the same type (whether it be culture, race, or affiliation) get together they begin to form these groups and feel safe to push their little agendas - instead of focusing on doing their job. Is that the case here? Hope not. But let me say this - no matter what your little agenda is; no matter what your issues are - you are to treat every customer with respect, kindness and fairness. Your job is to keep business flowing and remember - nobody HAS TO do business with your location. If you hate certain classes of people, just let them realize that and stop coming - and see how long you keep working. The people coming in there are the only reason you get paid - so stop biting the hand that feeds you. Keep your hatred at the door, put on a smile, and lear how to be professional. You dont know who you just treated wrong, who they know and what negative impact you just started rolling. Be good to people, and goodness will come to you. Be evil and evil will come knocking your door. I'll say this to the business owner (Brandi) - stop letting these people wak all over you. They have no respect for you. You need to show them that you run that place and they work for YOU, not the other way around.
