This location offers gluten free brownies that are pre-packaged on their site and menu. I have ordered and received them correctly before. The last couple of times I threw them away because look at the pictures. Does this look safe to you? How is anyone supposed to know this is actually gluten free when it looks like a store bought brownie wrapped loosely in cellophane. I called about my concerns and annoyed having wasted money twice. The woman I spoke with could care less and kept talking over me and actually admitted to being the one who packed them that way but could not confirm or tell me where it came from. We come here pretty often and the food is great! No complaints there! It's the consistent understaffing here that breaks my heart. There's a few really awesome employees. Like the bartender at night! She's usually by herself and really attentive. The kitchen messed up her order for us which she brought the food back to them. Simple mistake, but you can literally see the kitchen staff poking of some of the customers through the window. Like mocking the customers. It can be ignored, but my order was completely wrong. Been a patron of this location for many years. Pizza has always been great, Not ordered this time but I recommend the House Special pizza and for an app their Bruschetta is excellent. Now on a diet of sorts, I was with friends & ordered the Regular sized Caesar salad. While it made me whimper watching my friends eat pizza, this salad was excellent and very fairly priced for the good sized portion. Again dieting I only ordered unsweetened tea, should I compliment the generic Splenda? It was perfectly good splendaesque sweetener... My wife, not in attendance this trip loves their Moscow Mule. I don't like to leave bad reviews unless I really believe it's important to say something about the experience. This Mellow Mushroom has some fundamental issues with its kitchen. Where we sat, I had direct line of sight into the kitchen and I watched a worker with no gloves handles peoples food after rubbing his nose, coughing, putting items in his mouth, wiping his hands on his clothing, and other disgusting things that should not happen in any kitchen. He moved around either with an abundance of arrogance or sheer unawareness. Either way he should not be in anyone's kitchen handling people's food. Make him a busboy or something!!! After mentioning this to the manager, it seemed like other workers were well aware of his behavior because they came up to our table and thanked me for saying something. He obviously had a reputation. Now, why would a manager allow this person to continue to work in his kitchen when he obviously has cleanliness issues??? Disgusting!!! Poor training, poor management and accountability. I'm sorry but this is negligent and unacceptable. I won't be eating here again. read more

I use to love this place. But overtime the service has deteriorated. Especially if you sit at the bar. The last time I went there it wasn't busy. I was with my wife. She loves pizza. We sat at the bar. The young bartender I think her name is "Frankie"... yea, she blatantly refused to serve us. I have no idea why. Maybe she racist‍. It was soooooo weird. I gave her maybe 10-15 minutes but barely acknowledged us even though we saw her make other peoples drinks that came to sit at the bar after we did. I never been so embarrassed and I haven't been back. We left and went to Marlowe's Tavern and told them everything that happened at Mellow. We had the best time at Marlowe's. Anyhow, good luck. We had the best service at this location. The food is always fresh and super tasty. They give extremely large portions. They aren't stingy at all. Our server, Tim, was fantastic. He really gave us Top Tier premier service. The Holy Shiitake Pizza was legendary. It should win awards. And my Pacific Rim was amazing too. I will swap out my jalapeños for banana peppers instead next time. I loved The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh painting on the wall. It makes me so happy. First stop was the rest room. I couldnt find it. Its located in the cool wall painting. I like that they have the foot opener so you don't have to touch the doors. I sat at the bar and waited for my to go order. It was a 35 minute wait so make sure you call ahead for take out. As i sat at the bar, I saw other customers food around me. Everything looked and smelled good. Someone next to me had the steak and cheese hoogie...I wanted to take a pic but that would have been rude. It looked amazing! I ordered pizza and that hoogie had me re-evaluating my order. Lol As i waited, I looked at the menu and thought about all the other items I'd get next time. I think they forgot about me. I was in the mood for pizza & I seen the sign as I was driving by. You can never go wrong with pizza. My favorite is the House special. It's your typical supreme pizza at any other restaurant. I had an awesome mule. It was one of there specials that day. It was called something dude. It had me feeling nice & warm on a cold December night. The wait staff was awesome. But the kitchen was very delayed. Disappointed a manager didn't come out to speak to none of us about the issue but the servers were nice and apologetic. My son and I love Mellow Mushroom. Thankfully, we share a lot of these same food tastes. Mellow Mushroom came about in the 70s but didn't grab my attention until the 90s when they branched out to Snellville. One of my cross country teammates' dad owned the Snellville location, so we had a couple Cross Country parties there. Actually, his dad is a co-founder of the chain. With that said, we had a Sunday craving for Mellow. I found this location close to us. It sits off Lavista Rd, but more on Weems Rd. it's easy to spot if you look for the tall brick castle-like structure above its doors. It's located in the giant shopping center here on the back far right end. Parking is plentiful here! We got out of the car and I could seriously smell the pizza before we even came close to the doors. We opened the doors and I was delighted with the decor here. They have a Mellow statue to greet you on your left and then a really cool Silver Michael Jackson statue right after that. Lots of great seating options here! A bar to the right, with tables in the bar lounge and then booths off to the left, with a loooong bench and tables available too. There is also a patio that's screened in with high tops. TVs were all over. Unique to this location, and a theme to any Mellow you go to, is the music. This location serves up 70s hits. Every song was great! My other favorite Mellow Mushroom location in Sandy Springs plays 80s. You'll find each location typically has a certain decade of music attached to it. Our server, Jess, greeted us promptly and took great care of us. The only mess up we encountered happened to be an ideal mess up where our cinnamon pretzel appetizers came after the pizza (which we ate for dessert). The manager stopped by to apologize to us, as did our server, and I told them no problem! The fact he stopped by so fast after the error is another reason for my 5 stars. So, I ordered a lil Greek salad for my appetizer, along with a Terrapin Five-O from draft, a medium cheese pizza and the cinnamon pretzels. The salad was delicious and it's big enough to count as a meal alone (they load it up). The pretzels are my son's favorite and they come with a side of honey. I like them but feel like they could have used more cinnamon sugar on them. The pizza is why I come here. The crust is soooo good, and it honestly doesn't need much marinara. My son actually eats the crust here! Equally awesome, there is a FREE lil salad or Greek salad with your check in on yelp. I love the atmosphere and decor here, and service/management were spot on. I'm going to be coming back again for sure. My total bill for the medium pizza, beer, sprite, half order pretzels, tip and salad (comped with check in offer) was only $31. When we arrived, we were seated right away. They had plenty of high chairs for the 2 year old with us which was great! The environment here reminded me of a cafeteria. Most tables were right on top of one another. The service was just okay as we had to ask for refills a number of times and had no silverware. We asked 2 different people for silverware and they said they were being washed. How are there no clean forks at 6pm on a Friday? Don't they have plastic utensils in the meantime? We ordered 2 appetizers: Pretzel bites and Spinach Dip. They were both quite tasty. We shared a Large Cosmic Karma Pizza which was pretty good as well.
