This time I had a southern salad and a cup of tomato basil soup. My husband had a Caesar wrap and a cup of potato soup.

The staff is absolutely incredible! Happy, very friendly, and so helpful! The food was amazing as always. I absolutely LOVE Newk's! I highly recommend it to anyone! It has options for everyone and you will never be disappointed.

Went to Newk's Eatery in Knoxville, Tennessee. Stop by to get a fountain drink with one of their wonderful reusable cups. Currently they have a simple red and white cup. Also got a yummy chocolate chip cookie. The girl behind the counter was very nice and polite and the restaurant was very clean. I always enjoy eating there.

I opted for the steak sandwich on an everything bagel and it was delicious! My father was also very impressed with the pastrami Ruben on pumpernickel. I also highly recommend grabbing some custom bagel spread from the cooler and a portion of your favorite babka (I vote for chocolate) to take home!

The bagels are light and chewy, not bready, and even the plain bagel has a great flavor. We find the celery salt and sometimes the everything bagels to be saltier than we enjoy, but your mileage may vary. The sesame, plain, jalapeño cheddar, pumpernickel, and honey wheat are awesome. The seasonal pumpkin bagel was excellent, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get blueberry once they're in season. If you get a bagel sandwich, I'd recommend sticking with a plain bagel to let the filling shine. We usually get the Potchke delight (add avocado, it's worth it), and my husband loves the beef bacon. They have upgraded from egg patties to small folded omelettes in their breakfast sandwiches. They just rolled out mobile ordering at this location, and I did my first order today. Fridays are always very busy there, but my order was ready way before the time estimate, and they made my coffee fresh once I checked in with the lady at the pickup area. I was very impressed! They have been really good about making changes to improve wait times (like adding a second person taking orders with a handheld card reader and expanding next door to allow a designated line area), and mobile ordering is a game changer for me. The employees are always wonderful even though they are super busy and dealing with a lot of people. Everyone seems happy to be there, and I hope that's a reflection of the owners treating their people well. Yes, the prices may seem high for bagels, but in my opinion it's totally worth it. I'd rather have a stellar bagel once a month than grocery store bagels every week. (Now if only they would also serve their matzo ball soup and borscht at this location, my life would be complete!)

Located in an established strip mall by a high-traffic intersection at Kingston Pike and S. Peter's, Greens and Grains is easy to get in and out of with plenty of parking. The interior is spotlessly clean (including the restrooms!) and comprised of two connected dining areas and kitchens. One has a trendy, airy feel with cool green and white tones, while the other is darker with metal and wood elements, a game area, and a large open grill/prep area. The reason for the two different vibes was not immediately clear to me. Actually, it never became more clear during the hour or so I spent there, but I can appreciate a good mystery. This is NOT a fast food joint. In fact, it is slow. Agonizingly slow if you're in a hurry. This is a place to come when you are with a group of people you find highly entertaining (or when you heft along a great book) and don't mind waiting. After ordering two sandwiches and sides, my friend and I waited almost 20 minutes for our food to appear at our table. The macaroni salad was pleasantly flavorful, without the overcooked noodles and runny sauce so often found with this deli counter staple. The turkey and Brie was also good and grilled to buttery-crisp perfection. The sandwich, side, and a drink cost just under $20, so it's neither bargain-priced nor exotic, but fresh ingredients are not cheap. Only one employee was working in each of the two halves of the restaurant, so I imagine if they want to speed up their service, they are going to need to schedule more people. The two employees were both delightfully friendly, though, and they aren't just paying lip service to customer service, a goal plainly outlined on all the napkin dispensers and evidenced by their actions. Despite the slow service, I'm giving them a 5 for their dedication to quality ingredients and excellent customer service. I hope they make it for the long haul, and I'll definitely be back soon.

Plus, the purchase price of their chips goes to charity - it was fun picking our charity of choice. Service was excellent! The staff was enthusiastic and I must add "adorable". The calendar is on the web page. But why chase bad BBQ. This wood pellet (Traeger) grill smoked BBQ is dry. The smoke flavor is light to the point of being almost non-existent. The rub is okay, but when a brisket is this dry it's just not worth eating. The other meats are okay. The pork is probably the best thing, and it's just good not great. The ribs were okay too. The sides are about the only reason this has two stars instead of one. The mac and cheese is tasty and well made. The beans are good. Look, I don't write any reviews less than three stars and few less than four stars unless I have visited a place multiple times. Any place can have an off day, and I hate giving lower reviews to small businesses. But this is just NOT good BBQ. And, yes, I know a bit about BBQ, with deep roots in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Italy. I've cooked many briskets. Many. With wood. Cooked many pork butts and ribs. Tons. And so has my family (I have two relatives in the Dallas area who cater BBQ). So, this is not an area where I have no experience. Oh, and don't snicker at Italy in the list. I especially want to try the pork belly bites, but those are only on Fridays. I ordered the most popular dish, the gomer. I asked what the freshest meat was because the reviews varied. Many stated that there was a lot of dry meats, others report tender and perfect. My suggestion if you don't want to be disappointed is to ask what is the freshest for that moment in time. Pork was it today and it was delicious. I think next time I would rather get the meat plate as all the sides piled onto the pork was a bit over the top for me. I wanted to taste each item they have separately, but it was challenging being piled together. But that is what I get for picking the popular item and not what I think I would enjoy more. Gomer was $12. I see the cost has gone from $10, then $11 and now $12. I would not be willing to pay more than $12 but I understand the cost of food has gone up. Curious why the nacho is $16. If I understand correctly it is just the gomer with chips and cheese. I don't think that is worth $4 more. Maybe the quantity is more too??? Overall, I am happy with my first trip to Lloyd's and looking forward to pork belly bites in my future.
