If you haven't been to Subs & Such lately, you are missing out! Yesterday, I couldn't decide what I wanted, so I put my lunch in Mike's hands and had him pick a sandwich for me. He absolutely NAILED IT! It was perfect--and apparently Mike knows what I want for lunch better than I do. But Subs & Such is about more than just a great sandwich. Mike is genuinely one of the good guys. He's always gracious, welcoming, and such a wonderful supporter of our community. We're lucky to have local businesses--and people--like him in our town. Great food, great people, and the kind of local place you feel good about supporting. Go see Mike, grab a sandwich, and if you can't decide what to order...apparently just let him handle it! Five stars all the way! read more

This restaurant has really gone back to its previous glory. These sandwiches are full of meat and they are delicious. They offer a salad bar and they have a variety of beers and desserts. Definitely give it a try. The ole smoky is still my favorite. Plenty of seating inside and pleasant staff. read more

Had to come back and update my review since the newest ownership. This place has really went uphill!! Definitely the best sub place in town now. Prices, food, and customer service are great. I've ate here numerous times since the newest ownership and I can't think of a single bad thing to say. read more

Haven't eaten here since the new management took over and boy was we surprised! The portions are huge and the service was amazing. The restaurant is very clean and family friendly. I would say this is the best place in Alcoa to get a sub sandwich that when you are done eating you feel like you got your money's worth and a quality sandwich unlike the big name sub shop that's on every corner. read more

Great service and selection. Pick something on the menu or create ur own. It's truly one of the great sandwich places left.

Great deli sandwich hot or cold with lots of options! Definitely one of our favorite sandwich shops!

Was craving a sandwich and Yelp led me to Subs & Such. Was not expecting such a large space and very busy around 1 PM. Though there weren't many people in line, the sign showed a 30 minute wait. Prices were really fair and I settled on a 6 inch Reuben on rye. Saw they had a soup and salad option and many people making their salads. The numbers are yelled by the workers, and felt bad for the employee doing so. Maybe a buzzer option might be better for the future? About 30 minutes later I picked up my sandwich. Seems this place is known for steaming their bread, so it was a little mushy, but filled with plenty of corned beef and sauerkraut and it was all very tasty. A warm sandwich that hit the spot but took way longer than I expected. read more

Great owner who is very engaged within his community. Great food and always has happy employees.

We try to support local when we can- recently ordered through Door dash & everything was so fresh. I had the Ruben & husband ordered the French dip. The new owners are doing an excellent job & I wish them the best of luck on their endeavor. read more

It was exactly 6pm and they close at 7 and as me and my husband were walking up and the lady ran up to the door.. stared DIRECTLY AT US and LOCKED THE DOOR. The chicken chili is the best I've ever had.!!! It is amazing. The salad bar is very fresh and nothing wilting there. All being said, let's support these new owners, they're changes have made this establishment an A+!!! Love the Cajun Turkey and spicy pickles. Great job Micheal Mayes!!! read more

Good quick sandwiches. Excellent selection. The personnel are attentive, courteous and responsive. They could use a bit of freshening up and noise abatement in the dining room though. read more

Best sub I've had in a while, and the salad bar, even though small, packs the FLAVOR!!

It's a big place. Lots of sammie options, hot and cold. Fresh soups made daily. They have ordering kiosks in store, which is cool. Had the 12" Italian, hot and some broccoli cheddar soup. Both were solid. Prices seem fair and quality was good. read more

An East Tennessee must stop! The menu is so large it's somewhat overwhelming. Most sandwiches come on hot bread and I'm not for certain, but it tasted like it's baked fresh daily!!Their order taking system utilizes a ticketed number which was fun and retro. I recommend everyone try for lunch if I'm the area! read more

I am so disappointed! I use to love love subs & such. I never had a bad experience until I came in today for a 6 inch turkey and cheese with mayo and lettuce, I got to the car and there was some liquid from The sandwich leaked all over my car seats and my pants.I still don't know what this liquid that soaked through was. The whole thing was so sloppy put together. I just found out they have new owners. You can tell 100%. The usual crew wasn't there, Just a bunch of teenagers slopping stuff together. This use to be a 5 star rating read more

Great local find! A homegrown, tasty sandwich shop in a strip mall. Sandwiches come in 4, 6, 8 inch and larger size. Friendly staff. This is counter order and then they give you a number that they call later. We arrived during Saturday lunch hour and only waited about 7-10 minutes. Food was great - be sure to try the unique breads like dark or rye. read more

My husband and I just moved to the area so we have been trying local places. I looked up a sub place and I came across this restaurant. All the reviews were great so we decided to check it out! It didn't disappoint. I wasn't sure what to get because of all the options. I ordered the spicy cub on white and it was so good!! My husband got the cheese steak on honey bread and he enjoyed it! I took a bite of his sandwich and the bread was great! I will definitely order the honey bread next time. We got two subs and with tax it was less than $12! read more

We were on our way to Cades Cove for the afternoon on Thursday, March 24. We stopped at Subs and Such to get a couple of sandwiches to eat when we got to the park. We spent $24 for two ORB sandwiches. We didn't order chips or a drink, just two sandwiches. We ordered the sandwiches with honey wheat bread. The bread was STALE! The bread on my sandwich was hard as a rock on one end! They were both close to inedible, but my husband was extremely hungry and reluctantly ate half his sandwich, and finished the second half a while later, but again, he only ate it because he was hungry! I tried to eat some of my sandwich, but it wasn't worth eating because of the bread. I knew immediately, when I unwrapped my sandwich, that the bread was old. Any cook would have known, too! It makes me so mad! We were too far away to go back to the restaurant. I had no phone service in Cades Cove to call the restaurant to complain. We wasted $24 of our hard-earned money! We will not be back, and if you're willing to take the chance of ordering a sandwich-to-go, I suggest you open the sandwich up to verify that the bread is fresh before you leave the restaurant, otherwise you'll be out of luck! Fortunately, I had some fruit leather and butterscotch candy in the glove compartment that held me over until we got home several hours later! read more

I can no longer recommend this establishment. I've tried it 3 times since the new ownership and the new ownership has basically done everything that they could to ruin what was a fabulous local business. The owners are not locals infact one of them wants to be called "chief operating officer" which is a freaking joke especially over what was a mom/pop sub shop. Anyways, they have reduced the menu and reduced the toppings/meat serving/cheese serving and all while doing this increased their pricing. I can now actually get a large sub cheaper at firehouse than I can at subs and such and still have more meat and cheese at firehouse. I was told I could only pick three vegetable toppings. All the other sub companies you can have as many as you want. They say they are trying to be competitive with other companies. The reason they were doing such a great business before the new ownership was because they were better than the other companies... now they are worse than the other companies. Don't waste your time or money on this place anymore. The new owners clearly don't respect decades long loyal local customers nor do they respect the original owners that built that company up from the ground. It is ashame what it is turning into read more

One of my favorite lunch spots in Maryville for a delicious, meat worthy sandwich. Think of Nixon's Deli but on steroids. They put double the meat and toppings and you don't have to ask for extra. If you see a large line don't worry they get people in and out extremely fast. I really like the Club, Italian, and my personal go to -Turkey on Dark Bread (provolone, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, oil, vinegar & oregano). For under $10 you will be completely stuffed with chips, a drink, and a 6 inch sandwich! Hope you like this place as much as I do! Cheers & Enjoy! read more

Great place for old deli style food, very delicious food ! New salad bar is great, and self serve drinks are a welcome addition!!

This was my favorite sandwich spot, I don't know what changed but the menus have been halved, and the quality just isn't there. Before they would pile the meat on your sandwich, but now their portions are much smaller. They have been getting our orders wrong on many occasions. read more

This was probably my fourth or fifth time eating at this place but I promise it gets better every time I go. I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting use to ordering or my tastebuds like the way they make my sandwiches. I have never had a bad experience when visiting Maryville, TN and you can't go wrong with stopping here. The ladies and gents taking orders and making/completing the orders are always nice. I always order the veggie sandwich on whole wheat warmed with mayo; please leave off the tomatoes and onions. I want peppers and pickles on the side. With a bag of baked BBQ chips (my new thing since I'm trying to get my life together). The size I get varies, this time I got a six and an eight inch (not at the same time of course...I'm getting my life together remember). Anyway, water to drink but on the way out I get a refill on ice because they have the good crunchy ice. Check out the pic I'm gonna post. If you're ever in the are, check them out. I ordered a cheesesteak and it made me hate the city of Philadelphia. This was the most disgusting sandwich I've ever experienced. Steaming the roll on a hot sub should be grounds for losing your license to operate. The meat was discolored and frightening. They wouldn't put ketchup directly on the sandwich for some reason, probably because the staff looked like they just got out of work release. This was an abomination from start to finish. read more

Food was gross and looked old. Made me sick just looking at it. Definitely not worth eating there.

Since the early 90's I have going here for fresh, steamed subs unlike any other sub shop in town. Quick, Accurate, and Quality service with a smile has always been my experience here. They make the best sandwiches! They are unique bc they don't toast, they steam to heat the sand. Don't be fooled by the underwhelming decor-it's awful. It's all about the food.Their French bread is amazing! I love their iced tea too!! I'm a regular customer. Try my fav: smoked turkey with sharp cheddar, mayo, lettuce tomato and cucumber--light steam! It's soooo good! I ask for light steam so the bread doesn't get soggy but if you eat there and they don't wrap it, it won't get soggy, just if you order to go. read more
