The best lox and bagel, and schemer in the South! The line was out the door (apparently the norm!), but the organized, efficient, top-notch staff kept things moving quickly. My cappuccino was excellent, too. Can't wait to return to Potchke next time I'm in Knoxville!
After trying to eat here twice to no avail because of lines out the door, I have now gone here three times within a month. A great menu of fresh and tasty items and the bagels are by far the best in the area. Fluffy with just the right amount of chew to them. The cheddar jalapeño is my favorite for breakfast sandwiches and if you can't handle the slight spice kick, you can remove the single pepper slice in the middle. I love the bacon, Egg, and cheese sandwich. You can get it "fussed up" or get the two spreads on the side (amba (tangy honey mustard) and zhug (spicy herb sauce)-the amba is especially delish with this sandwich). The sesame bagel is another favorite that I often order loose for home. The coffee is great as is the avocado dish. Seating can fill quickly, so when I meet friends we often take turns going to order so we can snag a spot. Service is super helpful and friendly. I love the quirky, progressive vibes.
One of the Best Bagel Shops in Knoxville! If you're looking for a great bagel shop in Knoxville, this is the place! Their bagels are made fresh daily, right in front of you. You can definitely taste the difference! TIP: Get here early! The line can get pretty long, especially when people know how good this place is. Today I went with an Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese. The bagel was fresh, soft, light, and absolutely delicious! Sooooo good! But then I saw the Homemade Chocolate Babka Bread... DANG! This is a MUST TRY! Handmade chocolate babka that is rich, chocolatey, and ridiculously good. SOOOOO GOOD! They also had some special pastries, and today's was a Homemade Pop-Tart-style pastry. Another winner! Of course, I needed a Café Mocha to wash everything down. And check out the beautiful design they made on top of my mocha! Almost too pretty to drink... almost! Fresh bagels, amazing pastries, great coffee, and a fun atmosphere. Probably one of the best bagel shops in Knoxville! If you haven't been, come on in and give them a try!
First time in to potchke. I was in town for work and found it. The atmosphere was great and the workers were all very helpful in explaining the menu. Talked through different options and made recommendations. The bagels were excellent and good prices
Damn good bagels!!! Super cute little place with a good amount of seating inside and out. Very clean and bright. Friendly and helpful staff. I've been there three times and tried something different each stop. First up was the magical chicken salad on an everything bagel. Delicious chicken salad with lots of good flavors that didn't overpower each other. Second was the Steak sandwich on rosemary bagel. Not a fan of the steak. Nothing wrong with it, just a personal preference thing but that rosemary bagel was so good. Third trip was the one I will be going back for. The Pastrami Reuben. They recommend getting it on the pumpernickel bagel, but I couldn't pass up that rosemary bagel again, and it made a great pairing in my opinion. Whatever that Potchke sauce is, it really made the sandwich. But as you can imagine, the bagels were the star of the show each time. Nice size with just the right amount of seasonings. The first bite said it just right... perfect thin crackly bite on the outside with nice chewy dense inside, and so flavorful. I've heard that it can be quite crowded during the typical times you would visit a bagel shop so I went "off peak hours". The first time there were probably 10 people in line in front of me, the second time five or six and the third time I walked straight up to the counter. All three times my sandwich came out within just a few minutes of ordering so I would say they are definitely doing something right behind the counter. Only got one photo on my first visit. Was to excited to eat them to remember to take photos on next visits.

I ordered the jalepeno cheddar bagel with pastrami flavored lox schmear. I don't think there's any pastrami in this but interesting name. The bagel is light and fluffier than the dense and chewy NYC bagels and the schmear was salty and flavorful. Overall, I would recommend this place for top bagels in Knox. I would not put it up against an NYC bagels, but so glad we have a great option for yummy bagels and schmears. The bagels are big enough to share and they come toasted, cut in half and schmeared on both sides! Saving the second half for my afternoon snack!
This place is such a gem. The bagels have the perfect chew to them and are SO good. There was a line when we went but it goes by quickly. It has a bright laid back ambiance with the nicest staff - a must visit breakfast spot when you're in Knoxville!
I am moving to the Knoxville area soon and have seen this spot all over social media as a place to check out. I was in town touring homes and saw this was down the street around lunch time so I figured I'd stop in. Staff was friendly and the shop was very cute. It was packed but I was still able to find seating and relax in my downtime. I love a bagel sandwich, and was very impressed with this one! I feel that this is a shop that I will stop in no matter what part of town I wind up moving to!
Came on a weekday and the line was practically out the door, but for good reason. Didn't expect this caliber of bagel in Knoxville, but they definitely do compare to bagels I've had in NY/NJ. Love the variety of selection, and lovedddd that their bacon isn't pork!

This deli lived up to the hype. I've heard nothing but great things about this place and the line inside was long but moved quickly. The deli is efficient and the food was amazing. My only mark against them is I'd like to see them open three more locations and install a soda fountain (no freestyle machines please, haha). The employees aren't overly friendly and give off the McKays employee vibes (Knoxville people iykyk) where they're quirky and not into customer service as much as they are getting folks in and out timely but let's be honest, no one is here for pleasantries - we're here for the amazing food. The food is 10/10 and I couldn't give a single criticism of the menu. Can't wait to visit again.
This is my first time trying their bagels and so I decided to "walk on the wild side" and the jalapeño cheddar, which was absolutely the right choice. It perfectly complimented the dill-scallion cream cheese schmear. Also, it was served warm, which I didn't expect. One of the sandwich-making staff was kind enough to cut it in quarters for me because the bagels are so huge and it made for the perfect size to enjoy not just for lunch but during the rest of my afternoon. I will definitely be back!
We had heard about the hoopla of their award winning bagels. We have seen them stay lined out busy around lunch so it's usually a good sign they have some tasty creations. There were probably about 30 ppl in line but it moved quickly. The place has a buzz like a NY city rush for the food. The smell of fresh bagels keeps you engaged. They really have a good variety of smears and interesting bagel dips which were a fun wrinkle into the mix. Most of the bagel sandwiches are $15 and a good value. The smoked trout could've been a lil more smoky but was still solid. The NY nova lox was great too and good flavor and the bagels aren't over the top large. The turkey disco stole the show with enough turkey to feed a family of 3. There are at least 3 others I could've easily tried and will be back to try. In the area there probably isn't much better lunch option for the $15 price point. They have very reasonably priced coffees, lattes and matcha, we got a guava lemonade and enjoyed it. They have the freshness, hipster creativity and quality craft into each option to capture locals and travelers. If you haven't tried their downtown deli I would also highly recommend it.

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to try a local bagel and coffee shop, so we stumbled across this place. It was pretty busy for a Friday at 9:15 a.m., but the line moved quickly and we didn't have to wait long. I loved that the bagel sandwich menu went beyond the usual, run-of-the-mill options. We got the steak sandwich on a dill havarti bagel and the bacon, egg & cheese on a celery salt bagel, with zhug on the side (think a spicy red pepper pesto meets chimichurri, with lots of aromatic spices). Both were fantastic! The bagels were a little softer than what I grew up with in NJ, but that texture actually worked really well with these sandwiches. Bagel sandwiches can sometimes be a messy, unwieldy ordeal, but these were perfectly constructed and easy to eat. The food was great, but the staff deserve a shout-out, too. Everyone was upbeat, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there and interacting with customers. That kind of energy makes a difference. By the time we finished eating, the line had grown to wrap around and extend outside the building, yet it still seemed to be moving along efficiently. Clearly, we weren't the only ones who thought this place was worth a visit! I wish we had a spot like this back home. I have never loved a bagel as much as Potchke's bagels. I have tried the herby avo on the pumpernickel bagel, the jalapeno cheddar bagel with the garden schmear, and the jalapeno cheddar bagel with turkey. The herby avo was delicious, but too sour that it injured my mouth. So, I probably will not be ordering that again. Also tried their coffee cake, which was not what I expected, given its dry texture. Did not like it at all. My favorite bagel to date is the jalapeno cheddar bagel. Next bagel on my list to try is the chocolate one. Definitely a great place to visit, just bear in mind that it is very popular and can get really busy with long lines! read more
We stopped by for breakfast based on a local recommendation and we're so excited that we did. This is a fantastic little bagel place with amazing food that is fresh and delicious. The establishment is clean and fresh looking. There was a wait in line and it was well worth it. I would definitely return and highly recommend. read more

I've been to the downtown location and now the cedar bluff location. Yes, yes, yes to everything! The bagels are savory and fresh and great selection, even the vegetarian option was splendid. The specialty drinks were delish and I was eyeing their baked goodies but tried to behave in this trip and didn't order any but you best believe I will be returning just to try them! read more

I really liked the food I will say it was super busy so make sure you really set time aside to go order. Maybe ask for a recommendation on what bagle you should pair with your sandwich if your unsure. The texture of the bagels are wonderful though! read more

Potchke Bagel opens at 7 AM, we arrived at around 7:45 AM...the parking lot was filled, people were seated, and there was a line. While I was in line, a man was waiting for his huge catering order (it got everyone talking in the line ), so, Potchke Bagel is great for big events! We ordered a savory and sweet bagel which were both delicious! It was probably the best lox bagel I've had! My husband didn't care for the cucumbers, but I loved everything about it. I really enjoy that they slice the veggies really thin. The bagels tasted extra fresh and weren't dense. For my beverage, I ordered the Iced Black Sesame Latte with Tahini Whip. It had the perfect amount of sweetness! I can't wait for another Potchke Bagel! read more

Couldn't give a better review!!! I got the steak one on an everything bagel. Everything paired so well, the bagel has perfect crunch and was loaded with seeds! If I could go above 5 stars I would , I will be back weekly for this! The staff was very friendly, it was busy but only took about 7-10 minutes after I ordered. read more

Finally made time to check out Potchke bagel and it was outstanding! Came in at the top of the lunch hour, and while there appeared to be a serious line forming inside, the staff moved everyone through quickly and was very helpful with some suggestions for a first time guest. I opted for the steak sandwich on an everything bagel and it was delicious! My father was also very impressed with the pastrami Ruben on pumpernickel. I also highly recommend grabbing some custom bagel spread from the cooler and a portion of your favorite babka (I vote for chocolate) to take home! read more

We pulled in here to eat about 10AM on a Saturday. The line was long but moved quickly, 30 min in line but once done the food came out within 10 min. All of this was well worth the wait and hassle. I had the Turky Disco on a Jalapeño and Cheaddar bagel, shaved turkey, beef bacon, chipotle aioli, tomato, white cheddar and alfalfa sprouts. Great sandwich which I split with my wife. My wife ordered the Everything Bagel with the plain cream cheese, the bagel was loaded and so very tasty, this we split as well, the sandwich and bagel and schmear were more than we could eat. We took home the cinnamon Babka which was delicious. My daughter ordered the La Fete pimento cheese, beef bacon, tomato and pickled red onion on a jalapeño Cheddar Bagel likewise described as great and Son in Law had the Bacon, Egg and Cheese on an Everything Bagel which he felt was overwhelmed by the by the amba and Zhug which were add ons otherwise he felt the eggs and the bagel were very good. Service was excellent, ambience: its a very busy deli, be patient and you will be rewarded. read more

Just wanted to update after having tried this place a couple of more times.. The first visit was by far our best. The last two times we ordered from here, the whole family agreed everything seemed.. dry? I think that's the word for it. On top of the insane cramped wait, it's just not worth it. We've switched to Best Bagels over off of North Peters. Much more pleasant and personable service with equally (if not better) bagels. read more
This is one of those hipster overpriced places. I paid $16.39 for a basic breakfast bagel that has bacon, egg, cheese and avocado. Wow thats psycho... this is Not Santa Cruz California. I don't know how they can justify their pricing. They have around 15 employees or so. You wait in line about 10-15 minutes then wait another 10-15 minutes just to get your order. When I got my bagel....it was like eating a salt lick or Play-Doh... It was extremely salty. The bagel itself had too much salt on it and then the avocado... It's actually guacamole because they chop it up and put a ton of salt in it. Talk about raising your blood pressure and had to chug a whole bottle of water. read more

Great location. We love their downtown location as well. Fresh and delicious Kosher foods. We decided to have lunch here and both of us had the Lox on a bagel with two drinks. The bagel and lox were delicious. The soft drink did, however, contain high fructose corn syrup. The inside of the restaurant is comfortable, bright and clean. The employees were friendly and informative. The total cost of our meals exceeded $40 which was the only part of the meal that was a bit hard to swallow. read more
I tried the potchke delight and it was sooo yummy. I loved the freshness of the lettuce and tomato with the egg and I added bacon. Perfect combo!! There's no smear on the sandwich but they do add mayo with complements it very well. read more

This is a definite must go. We got a bagel with bacon egg and cheese on cinnamon raisin and a Potchke delight on everything. The bagels are noticeably larger than the other chains. The bacon egg and cheese had good bacon and decent amount of egg. The cinnamon raisin bagel was okay. The potchke delight was very good and different than your norm. The everything bagel was great with stuff all the way around the bagel. They have a nice seating area outside. The inside is nicely decorated and minimal design. It neat to see them making the bagels by hand. The best suggestion I can make is order online. We tried a couple times on weekend and they were about 30 deep in line. read more
