We didn't have reservations, but the place looked OK and the rate for our two rooms were favorable. Both sets of sheets in one room were stained...hard to tell whether it was old blood stains, chocolate or whatever, but it was disgusting. It would have been impossible for the housekeeping person to not have noticed when changing the sheets, if indeed they were changed. In the other room, the smoke detector dangled from the ceiling, showing it to be without a battery. In the shower of one bathroom, it looked to be a line of mold straight across the bottom of the wall. We were told of the complimentary breakfast when we checked in. In the morning, we went to check it out. The outside cover to the juice machine was broke and so we had to manually keep it shut while dispensing juice. Cold cereal was available but no milk to go with it. There was a small cabinet that had two old biscuits and some bread - I guess for toast. Long story short, it was no breakfast at all and we needed to go out for breakfast. Any money that you may save by staying here, you will lose when you have to take yourself out for breakfast the next day. Add to that the lack of cleanliness and safety, I would never stay here again - even if it was for free. The lesson I learned...spend a little more, stay at a franchise hotel where you have some recourse if things are nasty, and having a real complimentary breakfast will save you money in the end. My room was clean and the folks were nice but there were no amenities - no continental breakfast, no coffee, no WiFi. Only free parking and color TV. It looks nice from the outside. The owner said he's only had this hotel for a few weeks and improvements are underway. A Google search showed the rate with Hotels.Com and Booking.Com to be $50. We made reservations directly with the hotel and expected to pay about that. I was charged $69 for the night. Hint to other travelers: Use a third-party booking site and there's a donut shop with good coffee a short drive away. If I were in Miami again I'd give Deluxe Inn another try.
