The lodge had a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, two full bathrooms, and a BBQ pit in front. We used it all. You do have to bring your own linen and bedsheets, however, which was fine with us. Plenty of space for parking right outside too. One of our guests even decided to tent outside and there was room for that too. The lodge had private access to the Elk River where some of our patrons went to fish and soak in some of Americas most pristine water. We got to the lodge Saturday and partied hard. Sunday at about 10:30am, a driver brought a truck to the lodge and picked up our water coolers for River canoeing party so we didn't have to carry them next door. Then we walked over to the property next door where we found our canoes or sit on top kayaks to take down stream for a total of 8 miles. We completed our 8 miles of wet watery blissful fun in about 5-6 hours, stopping many times along the sides of the river for snacks and drinks. The store has a variety of things that you may need and the staff was great. Since this is a newer resort my only wish is they had more trees for shade. The trees are young and will mature but it's hard to escape the sun for now. Besides that this place was fantastic. Grand Lake is a short walk or golf cart ride away for fishing or water sports.

And she told me the camp spot was on the river front. We'll it was not what I imagined. It was around 50 yards away. You could not see the river from the camp site. We walked to it and their was brush on edge of the river and an 8' drop to the water. We had to walk around 100 to150 yards to find a spot to swim or fish. Water was pretty shallow. We did find a couple of holes to get wet and cool off. This was lot 63. For the price I paid, it should have been much better. I will not be going back.

Advertisement said rooms had hot tubs but neither room had USABLE hot tubs. One hot tub was empty and came with a frog. The second hot tub had water dripping from the top deck and lukewarm water. The room carpet was old and smelled horrible. Upon check out, I was asked to strip the beds, gather up all trash and towels, and wash the dishes. Is this a hotel or an Airbnb? I do not recommend this place and will not be back

After three reschedules by the company we finally got to take our cruise. They said it was due to…read morehigh water. Initially I believe then, but if you can go out, which they were, the water level doesn't go up and down so that does not make sense. There were probably a dozen people on the cruise. The captain, hostess and food service workers were very nice!! The boat doesn't go fast and we didn't go far. It was awesome seeing the boats that came up and honked at us and waved. This is quite an asset and could really be utilized but an hour and a half slow boat ride, selling us individual serve wine, either Jack Black or Fireball mini bottles. This boat was previously the CHEROKEE Queen. I don't like the name change. The seating was tables and not super comfy. The few food and drink offerings they had were interesting meaning slim pickings. The boat seemed clean except the overwhelming amount of spider webs. They were everywhere and especially on the tables. What could they do better? Serve meals, do mystery cruises where a mystery takes place and people have parts and you work together to solve it, do wine tasting uses, just give us more to do on board. It was fun and we enjoyed it but there isn't enough to bring us back.
