My laptop had it's cursor disappear and I followed online advice and got it back. However, it wouldn't "click" anything. After that I kept trying increasingly stupid things until the picture flipped upside down! I give up and naturally it's a month after my Best Buy warranty had expired.
Now I knew it was just a matter of knowing where to go & which buttons to push. I talked to a rep there. The closest I could get to a ballpark idea of cost is that you buy Geek Squad by the year & the BEST deal is 3 yrs. for ONLY $349! I only paid $10 more for the computer!
So I went to faithful Yelp & found 2 well reviewed repair shops nearby. But Newcast was open until 7 and it was 4:54, other shop closing.
Am I GLAD! Gunaid understood immediately what I had done, dumb bunny that I am.
Not only did he get my cursor back & working, he easily flipped the picture PLUS my right click hadn't worked for a while & he restored it.
All in under 5 minutes. I asked him what I owed him and he said "Nothing; it was no trouble." !?
What? Do people like this exist?
Well, they do at Newcoast Laptops.
Obviously, they need to make a living and, yes, it was just a matter of undoing the buttons I'd mistakenly pushed and I would have been glad to pay SOMETHING, but Gunaid was kind enough to do that for me. I am not computer savvy and somebody else could have told me almost anything & overcharged me.
I betcha the Geek Squad would have charged me plenty, like their low offer of $149 for a year!
Regardless what calamities may occur to my laptop in future, I will ONLY go to Newcoast, knowing that whatever the charge, it will be more than fair!
