On July 14, I suddenly couldn't log in to my credit union's app. At the same time, I saw notifications about verification emails from my credit union -- but those emails didn't appear in my Gmail app. When I called the credit union, they informed me that someone had attempted to add a fraudulent external account from Green Dot Bank. As they put it, "The credit union determined this was suspicious activity and restricted online access to my account." No money was taken, but they required me to create a new email address and have all my devices checked for malware before restoring access. I first visited another technician who was pleasant but whose investigation didn't leave me confident. So I sought a second opinion -- and that's when I found PC Helper Team.
