This quite honestly might be the worst place to live in Athens. They are currently renovating their apartments, but I would have appreciated if they put their money towards more important things like basic amenities. For example, my roommates and I did not have a washer for the first three months of this school year because they did not put the request in until after three months had past, even though we were in constant communication with the staff. Another example happened recently. The plumbing in my roommate's room had been clogged, and she called the office to alert them of this. Someone on staff then proceeded to lie to the plumbing company saying that she was "a veteran" to make it seem more urgent to the plumbing company. She, however, is not a veteran, and I think this was made even more unprofessional by the plumber showing up at 11 o'clock pm to try and fix the problem. He, himself, is a very nice person, but his machinery was extremely loud and obnoxious to the point where no one in my apartment nor my neighbors' could sleep until he left. I wish managerial efforts were this persistent when I was having to pay $200 many different times to get my clothing cleaned (this money was never refunded to us and we were never offered any sort of compensation). Renaming this complex "Newberry" is all fine and dandy, but this past year has provided me with the worst living experience I have had in my almost 5 five attending the University of Georgia. While they are making changes to make life better for new tenants, I believe the priority of any successful business should be making sure their current tenants are satisfied. read more
