Opening up their warm and gorgeous castle to you, Kat and Donn make great hosts that have that unique balance of being friendly and leaving you to discover on your own. The rooms are beautiful, the First Light room, even at the smallest room, was still well appointed with a walk in closet modified into a treasure chest of books, movies, games, a mini fridge and food area (both stocked with snacks even!) water container, extra towels, blankets, serious, it's like a huge cupboard of goodness. Breakfast was divine, seriously, that woman should open up a restaurant closer to me so I can eat there all the time! We stayed two days and were sad to go, I could have been happy there for a week. They have a myraid of animals that roam about and we made fast friends with the cat and pups, having those as tourguides around the grounds was a nice welcome. But let me tell you, that Turkish steam shower? Wow. WOOOOOOWWWWW! As relaxing as it sounds. Maybe more so. Overall, I can't wait to return and with the great prices and fantastic food that comes along with it, it's a sure thing we'll be back again and again. We…read morewanted to stay around the Kelso Longview area and this hotel seemed to have everything we needed for our weekend stay. Located in Kelso near other businesses, like Safeway and restaurants, we checked in at night on a Saturday and found that there were many other guests staying here too. Check in was an easy process. We stayed on the third floor (there are only three floors) with a king size bed and a wet bar. Our room had a mini fridge, toiletries, coffee maker, AC, free wifi, and it was spacious with the wet bar area and a table for where you could dine. What was nice about staying here was that they offered a complimentary continental breakfast. But they have not opened their pool or hot tub since COVID-19. The gym is open though. Our stay was comfortable. If you're looking for an updated, modern, renovated hotel that's luxurious then look elsewhere because GuestHouse is not that. You can tell it's an older building; however, they provided all that we needed and more. No complaints.

Rainier…read more After turning off the main road, you drive up a narrow gravel pathway, and there it is, a classic log cabin, two-story, nestled amongst the trees. The place was clean and spacious and had all the modern conveniences, including a kitchen. Yes, it's in the woods, but we felt perfectly safe -- there are a few other cabins nearby, and it's not far from civilization. A few retail and restaurant places are within easy driving distance. My only negative is that it claims to be suitable for up to six guests. That's not my experience. There are two good beds -- a queen and a full. The queen might work for a couple, but the full is really only good for one person. And the third bed is a fold out couch that only one of our party could seem to sleep on. Might be OK for kids, though. A small other downside -- we saw a few spiders, but you're in the woods here so you need to expect a bit of that. The thing I liked best about it is the location. It's just a mile from the park entrance for the Paradise part of the park. Later in the day, you can see cars lining up to wait an hour to get in, but not you -- because you're already there you can start early and get in without a wait. Pro tip: Get some groceries on the way. There are a few restaurants, but not a wide selection and the cabin has a kitchen with everything you need to cook.

Nestled amongst a canopy oasis of cedar trees, this recently renovated cabin features both and INDOOR and OUTDOOR hot-tub. Never did we expect how beautiful this experience could have been. We have never been able to find a place since that includes both types of jacuzzis, which is perfect after a long day of hiking. Another great thing was that the kitchen came stocked with great appliances and equipment for cooking. Lastly, the owners Janet and Pat were friendly and helpful. We absolutely look forward to visiting this part of the country in the future and staying in our beloved studio cabin.

We spent two days and one night at the cottage participating in the French Flea and had many opportunities to observe Kim and JoNell as the organizers and gracious hosts of a major event. The French Flea is an upscale market offering unusual and sought after items to the public with something for everyone. The vendor selection was great and included local and out of state folks. A big thanks to Mary Corso, Courtyard Antique Mall owner, for inviting me. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail makes every event a positive experience. The caterers served creative and ample portions of tasty food at a very fair price. Loved the watermelon water, it was such a refreshing surprise on our 97 degree day!. Another big bonus was the ample parking provided for the vendors and the public. The cottage is easy to find, less then a mile from the freeway but a tranquil world apart. The cottage was open to the public throughout the event and we heard many oohs and aahs as visitors explored the many nooks, crannies and amenities provided for guests. The cottage is a delightful retreat offering custom bed linens, fluffy guest robes, a great shower in the bathroom and several comfortable areas for lounging, reading or cozy visiting as in our case. And pampering begins as you arrive and continues your entire visit. We were welcomed back to the cottage after a long day with wine, cupcakes and candles. However my favorite treat, was fresh brewed coffee which greeted us in the morning , a great start to another day at the cottage. And you ask...would we participate in the French Flea again...am already signed up and preparing for next years event! No Art, tiny wall tv. The Wi-Fi password is beyond complicated. I ll just go cell. Trains and announcement horns a block away. Hope it's only a couple tonight. Last one was a 1/2 hour ago. It will do but I wouldn't send family here. Update: The train runs behind the hotel. Maybe every 4 hours. And since there is a crossing with no guards the horn blow is long and slow. We won't be back.
