We used Shane and Denver Landscaping to completely re-vamp our yard and are very glad we chose…read morethem. When we initially found water in our basement and in efforts to improve our drainage / grading, we got bids from multiple landscaping companies. Denver Landscaping wasn't the cheapest and wasn't the most expensive. We decided to go with Shane as he had great design ideas, was cognizant of balancing between our budget and our priorities, shared his expertise on what would work given our situation, and was interested in building a lasting relationship with us. We had Shane complete a design and install / implement the following items: - Re-grading the yard - Extending downspouts underground and installing a French drain - Irrigation system installation - Turf, mulch/rocks and a Flagstone walkway Although our yard was a relatively small project for Shane's company, he was able to fit us in almost as soon as we decided to go forward with the plan and still exceeded our expectations in terms of the attention we received throughout. Vince, the foreman, and his crew showed up on time every morning, were friendly and professional, and did great work! Vince explained everything with the irrigation system to us as this was the first time we had an irrigation system. He also brought to light any issues that could arise from our 100+ year old house (i.e. old water lines/pipes, low pressure/water flow to the irrigation system, etc) and him and Shane came up with viable solutions for every issue that arose. Both Vince and Shane were open to minor changes that we wanted while the crew was already working at the house and outlined the pros/cons of these changes, and ultimately supported what we wanted for our house. The project was completed in approx. one week and Vince returned a couple days later to change out the irrigation heads as Shane came up with a better layout given our low water pressure/flow issues. Shane and Renee followed up with us after the project was completed to ensure we were happy and understood everything with our irrigation and drainage systems. We absolutely love our new yard and will definitely use Shane and Denver Landscaping for our future projects. We would highly recommend this company for any of your landscaping needs!

Geno, the architect, did a great job w the plan. His communication through the process was outstanding. The crew was on site for 3 straight weeks and it was as smooth of a process w a contractor that I've ever had. Shane, the owner, was on site routinely ensuring the work was being done correctly and was hands on- which I appreciate. I also felt that there was great value in what we paid and what we got. It has made our backyard the place where we hang out routinely and am so happy w the work that they did. Thank you Shane and team- we will be redoing the front next spring! Rick J

The Helm Team is fantastic!…read more Not only did this amazing team clean up our newly purchased, very overgrown gardens, but they were also super-efficient, highly skilled, friendly, and cleaned up what we thought would take a week in only two days! Here's what else we loved: - Always communicated (the whole team) - Asked questions and followed through on feedback - Detail-oriented - Organized - Friendly and informative in our walkthrough of the project - Final cost reflected the bid - Had a backup solution when the roll-off dumpster company mixed up the delivery (they had enough of their own trucks to grab all of the first day's clean-up) They took great care of us and our front yard looks amazing!! We've even had compliments from the neighbors and I just love to look at it every morning. Thank you so much, Keith, Caroline, and the whole team. We look forward to working with you again. - Karen & Michael

This is the kind of review I REALLY do not like to do…read more To start, I had been emailing with Janice over a few days, and scheduled a meeting at our home build for today, Sunday at 11 AM. Our email conversation started with making the appointment to meet. Then Janice asked for a survey, so I sent over the plot plan so she could put together a rough plan as she asked for "must haves" which I sent over same day. That was Thursday. So now it is Sunday, we are at the house, waiting. As time passes we discussed how long we are going to wait etc. My wife tells me I should email Janice, but I told her she is not going to see it if she is driving. At about 11:20 I called Janice, went straight to VM. I called a minute or so later to leave a message, it rang a few times and then went to VM, so I left a voice mail to find out if she was still on the way, to call back to let me know, and I left my number. 6 or 7 minutes later, Janice emails me. WTH? Why can't you return my call?! Let me know you are not going to bother to attend a meeting that was scheduled 5 days ago?! This is what I got in return via email, to my phone calls and voice mail: "Sorry for any confusion this morning. I was going to work on the estimate and concept before we met to make sure my print is in line with your budget." Needless to say, Janice, I will not be calling or emailing you again...

Unfortunately, the project with the owner,Janice Vogt, was plagued by poor practices and unfulfilled promises. They removed some established plants without permission and never replaced them. Worse, when they took up my existing flagstone--which had been perfectly stable and safe to walk on for 14 years- to lay a new layer of mulch they proceeded to re lay it directly on top of that loose mulch. When I pointed out how unstable this was, she charged me an extra $2,300 to take it all back up again and pack that mulch properly and put a layer of rock for the flagstone to lay upon. This should have been figured into the original bid. Despite the extra fee, the work did not hold up. Now, just less than a year later the stones are shifting, wobbly, and creating severe tripping hazards. As an older homeowner, this is a major safety concern. When I called Janice to come and look at the situation this past month, she did finally agree to come out but then refused to fix it. In the end she used the excuse that she "doesn't normally use the clients material" (something that she'd NEVER mentioned before) and that my flagstone wasn't good. (In the contract itself it says "Colorado Native Landscaping warranties all hardscape materials and 'workmanship' for a period of two (2) years. They cut corners, didn't solve my weed issue, and left me with a hazardous situation in my back yard, which I will have to pay someone else to remedy. Disgusted. Avoid this company.
