    - $4 to $9 lunch specials on weekdays, it's a terrific deal! - Solid Vietnamese food, I especially like their black pepper clay pot rice and crispy chicken yellow rice - Opens late until 2 am, great for late night Asian grub Spacious inside, Viet EDM on repeat whenever I'm there

Food was delish and authentic! Service was Viet workers and great. Ambiance was a little empty when I took my parents on Saturday around 2PM. Otherwise, it is clean and yummy place. Viet parents approved.

The place is in the same plaza with Hmart Doraville so plenty of parking. The restaurant is right next to Meet Fresh. They just opened not long ago so they really lack staff. There were only 2 servers who are also the reception, as well cleaners. One of them is even new hire and still learning, so it's understanding that the service is very slow and not so good. Luckily when we tried dining at the place, it was empty, only 2 or 3 tables are occupied. So even though it took a while, we still got our order in and food not so long after that. Several tables are still not cleaned up from previous guests. But the table they lead us to is clean. The service is not good but it's not their fault. The pace should hire more people or at least has enough staff to operate before opening. The place has several TVs with different things going on which is fine but whoever in charge of the restaurant music (I'm assume the server since they lack staff) can't make up their mind. There was some soft Vietnamese music on for a while then suddenly loud English music for some minutes. Then it got cut off in the middle of the song, and then back to soft music. The important part is the food is not good. Now I'm a Vietnamese so my expectation for Vietnamese food is a bit more selective. But the food overall is not good. My bf got a meatball banh mi and it's ok to him. But to my touch, the bread is a bit hard in my opinion. But he's ok with it. He's normally ok with food in general regardless of if it tastes better or worse. I had rare beef pho with an extra bowl of poached egg in pho broth and bone marrow. When you order pho poached egg, the egg is normally cooked from the heat of the broth (not well but cooked, should not be raw). But the egg white in my bowl is still uncooked and kind of runny. I can see the white of the egg is still in clear color, not even turning white. The bone marrow is supper fatty in the bowl and when the bowl cool down, you can start to see they solidify up. I know bone marrow supposed to be like that but it's a bit too much. Tho pho broth is so so, and the rare beef has fat lines in them. It might be their style of meat but I don't like fat in my rare beef. Overall, I still want to try other dish of the menu to see if it's just my order is bad. But I'm unsure about coming back to dine in. I might order to go just to try other dishes.

Closer look at my lunch pho tai chin $8.99

I really wanted to like this place but I don't think I would return. Upon visiting and writing this review, there was only one other review and it was 1 star so I felt really bad and I really hoped it was just a one off bad experience. The quality of their food just isn't that good. My mother and I dined here 10/7/2024 for lunch to try their $8.99 lunch specials. We both got the lunch beef pho (she got the pho dac biet and I got the pho tai chin - any beef option is $8.99, although the menu didn't specify that). We also got a lunch grilled pork with rice that was also $8.99. The broth was "okay"- tasted like it was straight bouillon powder with not a lot of flavor unfortunately. The noodles were good (not too broken and good pull) but my mother kept complaining that the soup wasn't hot enough. I thought the temp was just fine though (granted, I'm an iced coffee girly and just don't like super hot temp things). The grilled pork was just disappointing. It was not grilled fresh. You can tell it was maybe grilled previously and then just reheated maybe? It was chewy and portion was also small. Service was okay. Nothing to write home about or complain about. I will note that the weird thing is when we wanted to pay in cash, they wanted us to go to the servers station to pay (weird in my opinion) but they were ready to take our cards at the table. Ambiance is also "okay". It is definitely remodeled and appears nice and new but you can tell it was like a quick remodel of the previous restaurant that was there and the bathroom was still typical "authentic asian restaurant" -- dirty. Also the entrance to the bathroom is a huge storage closet lol- at least you know it's authentic somewhat. This being soft opening, I would expect the owner to get a good chef in the back to get the flavors right and make a good impression but this is definitely not the case. I do hope this business succeeds and is able to get a better chef to get their food right.

I am Vietnamese, so I am always excited when a new Vietnamese restaurant opens in the area. I was really disappointed with my experience and honestly quite upset. The restaurant is very clean considering it is so new. This was a soft opening, but the restaurant was not busy at all when we entered. There were only four other tables besides us. There was one waitress and one waiter. I have never been close to walking out a restaurant before, but we sat around for 10 minutes waiting for someone to take our order. My fiancé had to call over the busboy because the waitress refused to stop by our table. She was talking with customers who had come in after us. We ended up calling over the busboy since he was the only one who was ever near our table. I do not think he speaks English very well, but he was genuinely kind and the only highlight of this meal. As he was trying to take our order, he was waving over the waitress to come help us since she had finished with a table. Instead of coming over, she shooed him and headed to a different table that had just walked in. Again, we had been sitting there for ten minutes. I ordered the grilled pork with rice, and my fiancé ordered the chicken pho. We ordered spring rolls as an appetizer. Honestly, if the food was good, I would probably give this place 3-4 stars. I really hate leaving bad reviews, but the food wasn't good. The waitress delivered the food. My pork was not cut and left whole, which is fine, but I did not receive a knife. Again, we had to call the busboy because the waitress wouldn't come near our table. He brought over another set of utensils, and I was given a butter knife. It was dirty. The broth in my fiancé's pho was okay, but the chicken meat was so dry. It was genuinely very hard to chew. My grilled pork dish was okay. I think the seasoning is just mostly five spice and white pepper. Again, the waitress did not bring the check to the table. My fiance ended up having to go to them where they put in the orders to get the check. There are a lot better restaurants in the area. I honestly wish I didn't stay to order and just walked out like I had wanted to.

Amazing , taste great, good prices and quick, friendly service! Weekday specials are unbeatable . They had Bot Chien!

The staff wasn't super attentive and lots of tables needed to be cleared, but once I was able to order, the food came out quickly. I ordered a Pho and Crab Rangoon, crab Rangoon were huge, pho tasted how it should! Their lunch menu looks like a good deal so I would probably go back to take advantage of the pricing

We went in around 10:30 pm for some late night sandwiches. The sandwiches are very sweet. There weren't enough protein in the sandwich. We were still hungry afterwards. The place nice and clean. Perhaps we will try the pho next time. They also charge some fees for using credit card too.

Really disappointed in the food and service here. The soup was not flavorful at all. The beef that was in Bo hue was really fatty and all clumped together. The service here was absolutely non existent. We had to flag them down for ordering, they did not even bring us water until we asked. They were not busy and there was only one other table there. The boba drinks we ordered was 80% ice and came out super late. Overall, I don't think I will be back due to the service. It's cool that they are open till 2am but the slow service really slows down the entire dining process. They also charge 3.5% if you pay with a credit card. This is definitely one of the worst pho experiences I've encountered.

Honestly, I really hate leaving restaurants bad reviews especially family owned but I must. I've been here a handful of times since they opened, and i love the duluth location, but this one seems to really be struggling. i've been during all hours of the day and will admit the lunch time period has been alright. the service is not so great mainly because they seem understaffed. i once waited 30 minutes for two banh mis to go.... the reason i'm leaving this review is my most recent visit, i ordered pho and it was so oily it was almost inedible. there was a clear layer of oil across the entire top of my pho pooling in the meat i spooned out two dishes of almost pure oil and still felt the broth was too much. i really hope they are able to turn it around as i love the duluth location and would love to have one closer to the perimeter.

Michelin Star Little Sparrow is one of those restaurants I look forward to whenever I'm back in…read moreAtlanta. It captures that wonderful Parisian brasserie feeling without trying too hard--the banquettes, heavy drapes, soft lighting, beautiful tableware and attentive service. Everything feels considered. And then there's the food. The menu is small, the prices are not, but they execute what they do exceptionally well. I was tucked into a beautiful banquette and taken care of by Keenan, who was lovely throughout dinner--warm, polished, knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. First things first: do not skip the bread service. The warm levain baguette arrives wrapped in Little Sparrow-branded paper with their gorgeous butter, EVOO and Maldon salt. It sounds simple. It isn't. That butter sitting in fragrant olive oil with those little pops of sea salt, smeared onto hot, crusty bread? Heaven. Sometimes the simplest things tell you everything you need to know about a kitchen. My usual order here is the chicken schnitzel, which I love, but I promised myself I would branch out. I ordered the Cabillaud Frites--cod with tartar sauce--and Little Sparrow's interpretation of fish and chips is anything but ordinary. The cod arrived as beautifully fried little rounds with a deeply golden, crisp exterior and tender, delicate fish inside. Hot, crunchy, moist, perfectly cooked. The house tartar sauce was delicious. And because apparently I needed more decadence, Keenan brought me garlic aioli for the frites. Yes, please. And those frites. Lordy. Crisp, deeply savory and dangerously easy to keep eating long after you've told yourself you're finished. Dip one into that garlic aioli and good luck stopping. I skipped cocktails this time because I was saving precious real estate for dessert. I usually order the chocolate soufflé, although I continue to wish they would rotate the soufflé flavors. Give me Grand Marnier! And at $22, that soufflé is definitely an investment in dessert theater. Instead, I took the coconut cake back to my hotel. Unfortunately, this was the one miss of the evening. It was overwhelmingly sweet and lacked the richness and complexity I expected from a kitchen operating at this level. It tasted surprisingly ordinary compared with everything that preceded it. I'd skip it next time and return to the soufflé. That small disappointment doesn't change how I feel about Little Sparrow. The dining room is beautiful. The service feels polished and gracious. Even the restrooms and little sitting area carry through the aesthetic. There is an attention to detail here that I appreciate--from the china and menus to the lighting and presentation. Little Sparrow isn't inexpensive, but I don't come here looking for inexpensive. I come because they take seemingly familiar French dishes, focus on technique and ingredients, and make them memorable. If you're anywhere near Atlanta's Westside or the Design District--or frankly, even if you're not--make the detour. Make a reservation, settle into a banquette, order the bread, and get some of that food in your face. Life is too short not to eat well. Get out there and find your next meal.

Everything was DELICIOUS. The scallion bubble pancake came out HOT, like hurt-to-touch HOT. It was crispy and airy. It was served with a side of mild curry sauce. The noodles, lamb, and eggplant came out hot temperature-wise as well, but they were also hot spice-wise, especially the cumin lamb. The spice levels cleared my sinuses, LOL. But though I struggled with the spice, I kept on eating because all of the dishes were delicious and flavorful. The tender lamb was served on little skewers. The dry fried eggplant was super crispy; the pieces were shaped like spicy fries. I liked Grandma's noodles even more. The noodles had that bouncy, chewy, hand-pulled feel and were covered in vinegar & hot chili oil. I appreciated the portions. Despite being an appetizer, Grandma's Noodles came out on a large plate, and for being small plates, the eggplant and lamb were pretty filling. The service was also friendly and attentive. My food came out quick, and the staff constantly kept my glass of water filled. The noodle soup was a major letdown. When it arrived, I couldn't find a single speck of actual meat on the pork belly - it was literally 100% fat. I was in disbelief, I thought the meat fell off into the soup, there wasn't any inside. this was completely inedible, and I had to separate the pork belly on my plate. On top of that, there was absolutely no meat on the bone or any marrow inside the bone. It was literally just a bare bone thrown in with the noodles. Even the egg was overcooked and served whole, instead of being cut in half like it is pictured on the menu. Thankfully I ordered a second dish of protein. The Hainanese chicken was supposed to be the star of the show. While the initial bite with the yellow rice was decent, something felt off as I kept eating. It just didn't taste freshly cooked and lacked a real, natural chicken flavor. When the server asked how everything was, I pointed out the plate of separated fat and explained the issue with the pork belly. They were apologetic but "that's how it is." Overall, it was a very disappointing experience with lot of room for improvement.
