I was quoted $250 for a thermostat replacement and A/C diagnosis, but the final bill came to $550 without my approval of the additional charges. I specifically explained that my A/C had a major leak. Instead of repairing the leak, they added dye and recharged the system, a temporary measure, not a repair, and the A/C issue remained unresolved. I was also charged for 3 gallons of coolant during the thermostat replacement, which raised concerns for me since a thermostat replacement typically involves draining and refilling the system rather than adding a large amount of coolant. The invoice also showed 3 lbs. of refrigerant, while my vehicle's listed A/C capacity is approximately 1.3 lbs. I was verbally told there would be a 1-year warranty, but the written warranty provided afterward stated 90 days. Based on my experience, I have serious concerns about the pricing, communication, and repair process. I have filed a consumer protection complaint with the Georgia Attorney General's Office. I've taken my Toyota Tundra here several times to get work done and they always resolved the issue in a very short amount of time. Their quotes and their prices are within reason. Just the other day, my wife had a problem with a window on her Nissan. I was away at work and she decided to take her car to the Premier Nissan Mall of Georgia Dealership on Buford Drive. She informed them that she had an engine light on and all the widows periodically would not roll up or down all the way. They charged my wife a diagnostic fee of 185.00 for each identified issue, with other fees and tax that came to $381.00 (includes a charge for credit card usage for payment). As part of their assessment, they determined that only 1 window motor needed to be replaced and the O2 Sensor needed replacing. In addition, they provided quotes for replacing the tires and wheel alignment. The total repair for the two issues we brought the car in for came to approximately $1,450. If my wife would have agreed to the other suggested quotes for tires and the alignment, the total would be $2,234.02!!! That's ridiculous!!!! $862.26 for replacing one motor, when all the windows in her 4-door car was having problems. Thank goodness I was able to go with her to discuss their assessment. I advise my wife we need to take her car to this Japanese Auto Repair, which I've used many times before. After dropping the car off, Japanese Auto Repair informed us that they just simply reset the window control mechanism, which resolved all the problems with the windows not going up and down correctly. This was done at no charge ($0) to us. Next, they required the part (O2 Sensor) which they would have on hand the next day. Next day, as promised, they called and informed me that my wife's car was repaired and ready for pickup. I am very pleased with the service we get from this location and will send my wife, our kids and all our friends there for all future service activities on her car. If you want quality auto service performing your Japanese vehicle, then I recommend using Japanese Auto Repair!!! Just to conclude this review, I want to share what it cost to actually resolve the problems with my wife's car. The total repair cost from Japanese Auto Repair was $301, which was less than what my wife had to pay the Dealer's incorrect diagnostic fee ($380).

I took my daughter's car here for an electrical issue at 8am on a Tuesday. We didn't hear from them till we called at 2pm to see if there was an update. They said there were no issues with the car and we could come pick it up. We said we wanted to leave it there overnight to make sure the issue didn't resurface, as my daughter needs the car to drive to work and I we don't want her to get stranded. No call the next morning. We called at 11am to see if it was still fine. They hadn't looked at it yet and said they would look at it now. No return call again. We called at 1pm and they said we needed an NEW ENGINE! No, not engine but a new "motor". We asked for an explanation. These are the reasons they provided. 1. They said we had no oil in the car. - My husband has been changing the oil in the car for the last 6 years. My daughter checked the oil last week. There was oil in the car. The car has NEVER not had oil. 2. There was a valve cover leak. - News to us. This was not an issue before we came here. We have never had visible oil around the oil cover. 3. A cylinder is misfiring. - This is a sign that a spark plug or the coil needs to be replaced. I don't know if they thought we didn't know anything about cars because we are women but they are definitely wrong. We immediately went up there to pick up the car. The car was still in the garage with the hood up. There was a large blue oil drain in front of our car that was supposed to bone dry. We drove away and there was a cloud of white smoke. What the heck! We came there was an electrical issue. The car has NEVER had this issue. We pulled over and drove in my car to the auto part store to pick up a quart of oil. No issues after to put oil in the car. I ran a diagnostic on the car because we have a micro mechanic diagnostic reader. NOW the car reads that there cylinder 1 is misfiring. Luckily we know how to change spark plugs and coils. After we fix the damage they did to the car, we're taking it to Hyundai to finally get the electrical looked at. A wait of money and two days of time. We are out $80 for their mandatory diagnostic fee, Vo didn't have this, the price of an emergency quart of oil and the spark plug or oil after we perform the test to see which one is having the issue. He never fixed what was not necessary to fix at the time and would give us a priority list with low pricing that was always honored, of what we needed to pay attention to and when we needed to bring it in for that service. He never took advantage and would even let us get our own parts without the markup and install them for labor only. He was a very fair man and will liked. I miss him greatly. I give Mr Vo 5 stars. The new guys, maybe 2 stars. I believe they have much to learn about customer service. They just don't have the passion for it that he had.
