With all the directions the tech Nagi was giving me I was focused on his explanations, paid and left. I then realized I didn't show the Card, and he did not ask if I had anything to apply either, to be clear. I went back today 08/06, because I had a little time to see if they would honor and refund me the discount amount, but they refused outright. Both Nagi and the other attendant were very offensive about not doing it and it being a store policy, they went on about refusing me in a very unpleasant manner. I just left after seeing how unpleasantly they were approaching my request. I explained the service was just a day ago and the card in my hand is valid. Nagi bluntly refused to honor the $15.00 refund. I called the branch I would normally got to and the manager there was very clear it should have been done and is not a store policy. However, it has to be honored at the location the service was received from. I am unable to find a manager over these branches to escalate this to since the Costumer Service line I Googled does not give me a District manager contact. At this point it's about the principle of honoring the Discount offer and a culture customer service standard.

Some time after, I noticed a small oil drip. At that point, it was never even fully determined whether it was something they did or simply a failed seal on our end -- and honestly, it was probably a part failure. What happened next is what truly sets this company apart. Michael, the owner, personally called me and handled the situation with professionalism and integrity. Because the line wasn't entirely clear on whether the issue was a failed part or something related to the service, he took ownership of making it right. His focus was on standing behind the work, doing right by the customer, and building a long-term relationship -- not pointing fingers. They went way above and beyond. Kia is notorious for requiring OEM parts (aftermarket just won't work properly), so they had to track down a specific part. Michael and his team called multiple Kia dealerships, pulled strings, and somehow managed to get the part the same day, even though we were originally told it could take several days. That alone was impressive. They repaired the vehicle immediately -- and the next morning, Michael and his father personally delivered the car to my house. His father has over 40 years of experience working on vehicles and plays an active role in overseeing the work, which really shows. The two of them together are an impressive team. In conversation, I mentioned to Michael that part of my work involves helping businesses think through customer experience, and we talked about what it looks like to truly take care of people. The hardest time to do that is when it costs the business owner money. This repair did cost him money -- and he still did the right thing without hesitation. I've already referred many people to Strickland Brothers in the past because of consistently good service -- but this experience was different. Maybe prices have increased or changed since I've been here. If so, that's a bummer. They should consider doing some promos or discounts to be more competitive.

That filter only needs to be changed every one or even every two years so just don't waste your money. They top off your fluids, which is good. Many places say that they do it, but here you're in the car so you see them do it. You don't know how many places I used (many dealerships) that say that they will top off your fluids and then you have to do it yourself the next day. Anyway, I like being in the car and seeing what these guys do. Recently, they started to also check your lights, which is great. They'll ask you to tap your breaks and turn on your turning signals so that they can make sure it's all working. Very smart and a nice touch. I wish they started to also check tire pressure. I always ask for it and when I do, they check it, but some of their guys assume that if I don't have warning lights for tire pressure then they can skip it, which I find ennoying - those things don't always work and do break. Not a big deal. Just ask them to check manually and you're good to go.
