They don't stay on task when it comes to problems they caused and need to repair. This business needs a whole new manager or to be shut down permanently. The bad reviews are absolutely true. They will damage things and not fix it properly, put the wrong pieces on, or try to make you pay for your own parts. My car was running smoothly with no issues until I took it to this place now it's leaking and overheating. They try to avoid paying for big damages that they have caused. They will send you to get a diagnostic at a cheap place that they refer you to and are affiliated with...which can't be trusted because they can get them to lie and try to convince you the problem wasn't caused by their employees. Save yourself a headache and go to a place that is trustworthy.

Some time after, I noticed a small oil drip. At that point, it was never even fully determined whether it was something they did or simply a failed seal on our end -- and honestly, it was probably a part failure. What happened next is what truly sets this company apart. Michael, the owner, personally called me and handled the situation with professionalism and integrity. Because the line wasn't entirely clear on whether the issue was a failed part or something related to the service, he took ownership of making it right. His focus was on standing behind the work, doing right by the customer, and building a long-term relationship -- not pointing fingers. They went way above and beyond. Kia is notorious for requiring OEM parts (aftermarket just won't work properly), so they had to track down a specific part. Michael and his team called multiple Kia dealerships, pulled strings, and somehow managed to get the part the same day, even though we were originally told it could take several days. That alone was impressive. They repaired the vehicle immediately -- and the next morning, Michael and his father personally delivered the car to my house. His father has over 40 years of experience working on vehicles and plays an active role in overseeing the work, which really shows. The two of them together are an impressive team. In conversation, I mentioned to Michael that part of my work involves helping businesses think through customer experience, and we talked about what it looks like to truly take care of people. The hardest time to do that is when it costs the business owner money. This repair did cost him money -- and he still did the right thing without hesitation. I've already referred many people to Strickland Brothers in the past because of consistently good service -- but this experience was different. I can confidently say I will never get my oil changed anywhere else, and I will be using Strickland Brothers for any automotive service they offer. I'll continue referring people without hesitation. Anyway, next on my list is registering my vehicle from IL to the state of GA. Predictably, I needed to get an emissions test done besides the other items on the checklist. I showed up here on a Monday morning and there was no line here. They took me in, set up my car, and within ten minutes I was out the door! This car happens to be headed North later this summer when my nephew turns 16, so he can have something to learn how to drive on, and also be able to drive him and his sister around so my brother and his wife don't have to. The point is, I asked a million questions of the technicians about getting my car serviced with an oil change and a quote on a possible brake job before I do give the car away. I'm one of those idiots that used to take his car to the dealership to get all service done. It looks like that's going to change. A reasonable price quote, and fast, professional service. You can't expect to get anything better these days. That's what you want. No muss, no fuss. I'll be back in a month or two to get the work done. That filter only needs to be changed every one or even every two years so just don't waste your money. They top off your fluids, which is good. Many places say that they do it, but here you're in the car so you see them do it. You don't know how many places I used (many dealerships) that say that they will top off your fluids and then you have to do it yourself the next day. Anyway, I like being in the car and seeing what these guys do. Recently, they started to also check your lights, which is great. They'll ask you to tap your breaks and turn on your turning signals so that they can make sure it's all working. Very smart and a nice touch. I wish they started to also check tire pressure. I always ask for it and when I do, they check it, but some of their guys assume that if I don't have warning lights for tire pressure then they can skip it, which I find ennoying - those things don't always work and do break. Not a big deal. Just ask them to check manually and you're good to go.
