I've always been impressed with the fact that every facility around us in Naugatuck has an "A" rating for their health code. This place, while on the outside looks like a little hole in the wall, is a true gem. It's simple Chinese take-out, but dang is it good! Their chicken and broccoli is some of the best I've ever had and they're pretty good at getting your order right - even when you ask for something a little picky (my husband hates onions in his fried rice). My husband recently tried the General Tso's (apparently super spicy (hilarious to watch him eat it though!)) and Sesame Chicken because although his favorite is boneless spare ribs, he would like a little more juice in New Moon's recipe - but he loved both of the new dishes he tried. We got delivery from this establishment this last time, and the service was quick and great! I ordered online from work so that when I got home we could just eat and relax. I was nervous because I'd never used their delivery or online order service before, but I wasn't disappointed. Very thankful that this is one of our many options for a lazy night dinner! read more

This establishment delivers consistently poor service and substandard food quality. We submitted an order yesterday, only to wait over an hour and twenty minutes. When I contacted them regarding the delayed delivery, they finally delivered it. Unfortunately, the food arrived cold, with the chicken and eggrolls severely overcooked. Upon calling to express my dissatisfaction, the staff member dismissed my concerns by claiming they were busy. My husband made the effort to return in person, hoping for a resolution. The manager offered merely $10 in compensation and refused any further accommodation. When my husband pointed out that we had provided a generous tip to the delivery driver and had to make an unnecessary trip back, she responded dismissively with an attitude and declined to help. This situation was never resolved. This is not how professional businesses operate, nor is it how you retain loyal customers. I strongly recommend visiting Peking Tokyo instead. read more

When the lady rang me up she added a tip to my receipt without my permission after I had already left a cash tip. Be careful ordering from here and make sure they don't steal from you like they did me read more

It great. I love the food how they make, it's fresh and Chinese. New Moon is a great name to name the Chinese place because sound like lunar eclipses which is in March 13-14 2025 visible in Connecticut and the whole United States. I love this place and tastes so good. Very good place!!! read more

if you like good food then this is NOT the place for you! arrived an hour after ordering and it was cold. Tasted bland with an odd flavor on everything that was nasty. threw away over $30 of food....never again. read more

Food is okay sometimes it's very sloppy and sometimes it's very good but it's by my home so it's always a go too !

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant that I've been to in town. Super convenient to order online and always ready very quickly! The chicken teriyaki is delicious and flavorful along with the pork egg rolls and very generous portions of wonton soup. I can't speak for any of the entrees as I am a creature of habit and always get a bunch of appetizers but I look forward to trying them as well! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This place used to be my go to spot for Chinese food but apparently there are new owners and the food is absolute garbage. Rice and lo mein were both overcooked and mush. Fried dumplings were not fried at all and had no flavor. Beef teriyaki sticks were grade F meat and had no sauce on them. Will not be ordering from here again. Do yourself a favor and go to Peking Tokyo. read more

New Moon provides fast and accurate take out. The egg rolls and wonton soup is delicious. The staff is very friendly.

I was very skeptical ordering from this place after reading some of the comments. I decided to give it a try as it's the closest Chinese food place to where I'm staying. Oh boy! Am I pleasantly surprised. The food is hot and fresh, pork lo mein has a lot of pork in it. I will definitely be back read more

The food is good but when ordering over the phone my husband couldn't even hear the man because there was so much background noise of people being very loud and kids yelling, when told he couldn't hear him the man on the phone yelled and told the others to shut up. We still couldn't hear the man and we finally just forgot it and hung up. read more

Quality food for sure! Everything was great and delivery was on time! The chicken on stick was my favorite! Way better than most places in New York! read more

Ordered delivery. It is cash only now. The delivery took over an hour even though the app said thirty minutes. The boneless ribs were burnt and hard. The egg roll was soggy with grease. Scallops and fries were ice cold. We called to complain and they sent a one half of a half pint of ribs which took another hour. I do not recommend and won't be going back read more

I don't know what has happened over the last few months but my household is done with this place. The food has been terrible the last 2 trips. The fried rice has absolutely no flavor and is mushy. The general tso's & the hot and sour soup is way too hot to the point you can barley eat a few teaspoons on top of it not having any flavor. Eat at your own risk because you are guaranteed to spend hours in the bathroom. read more

Small proverbial "hole-in-the-wall" place, takeout only. The food is always fresh and on pointe, never over seasoned or overdone, nor do they skip on portion sizes. There's almost always a wait but it's so worth it. read more

They have a fantastic variety to choose from and are consistently worth the money. Currently under renovation which tells me they care about their business more than the average and I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve. Ps try the sushi read more

Super surprised at how delicious the food from new moon is. The line waiting to grab their orders was a tell tale. We ordered the usual - chicken with garlic sauce, veg fried rice, hot n sour soup, egg rolls and spring rolls. Everything was piping hot and delicious. I've had better hot and sour soup, but it wasn't that bad. The chicken with garlic sauce was hearty, fresh veggies and good pieces of chicken. I wish it had just a little more garlic flavor, but otherwise it was very good. read more

I ordered delivery from here for the first time. Sorry to say it was not good. I ordered the coconut shrimp and requested fried rice instead of plain white rice. They called and said they'd have to charge $1 more for fried rice which was fine. The shrimp actually smelled like a fish house. The one bite tasted like a fish house smells. Yuck! On to the rice... it was dried out and yellow. Ranks right up there with the worst ever. This meal was a total waste. I did eat a spring roll. It was fair considering I was super hungry. And then there was mozzarella sticks. How can you ruin that? Maybe by frying in dirty grease? I don't know. The fortune cookie was great. Fortune not so much. read more

I pass this place all the time. Decided to swing in for some take out and give it a try. Fresh food, fast and friendly service. All good things. The skins on the crab Rangoon's are nice and light which melts into the cream cheese scallion mixture inside. Very good. To date we've now had several meals here including G Tso and coconut chicken. The Fried rice is also very good. At this point I would not hesitate to order anything on the menu and be confident I'll be satisfied with the chefs results. Looking forward to tasting my way threw the menu. My new favorite for takeout in Naugy read more

New Moon - Chinese Near Me - Naugatuck, Connecticut

This place is great when it first opened up and tonight I decided to order from here again!! Had a great experience just ordering my food, the woman was very nice and paid attention to what I ordered and made sure what she wrote down was what I specifically ordered, the food was yummy pork fried rice is delicious and had a lot of pork in it (not like other places around naugy), the egg roll was absolutely delicious!! great overall appearance and quantity of food! Chinese done right GG fam read more

We have tried most Chinese restaurants in Naugy and this one is by far the best. The food is made as though the people cooking it actually care how it tastes. Most other places are sticky sweet and overly oily. Not New Moon. The flavors are really good and again, it just seems that they care. The first time I even tasted their Lo mein, I was taken aback at the flavor and it didn't feel like I my lips were greasy after eating. It's our "go to" for Chinese now. read more

Just go to McDonald's. The other option is to make your own Chinese food, bet you can do it better. Ordered delivery, an hour later I called to ask where it was, told that waiting for driver to come back to pick it up, I called back to say I would just pick it up the girl couldn't understand and told me the food was driving. When food arrived of course was not really hot, but that did not matter since there was no flavor to anything. Got General's Chicken had red sauce don't know how to describe how red tastes, maybe chicken with sugar on it? Paid the 2 buck upcharge for lo mein with the combo. This "lo mein" was a bunch of overcooked noodles with some soy sauce, that was it, nothing no flavor at all. I knew there was soy sauce because noodles were brown. Boneless spareribs swimming in grease, they could of cut those up and threw them in the "lo mein". Just moved to the area and thank goodness we tried this first so we can cross it off the list. read more

i ordered from here tonight and there was a roach in my food! don't ever buy from this place!! plus - they won't even give me my money back!!! this place is filthy and the people who work there are rude!! take your business elsewhere unless you enjoy eating roaches. read more

Absolutely the worst shit I've ever tried to eat. Told me 15 minutes and after 30 minutes had my order ready. Egg rolls ice cold with no duck sauce or mustard. Ordered MooShu pork and was served god knows what, still partiality raw with god knows what kind of sauce. All went into the garbage where it belonged. Will never go back here and I suggest you do the same. Would've given some to my dog but I was afraid of making him sick read more

They need to change their frying oil a little more often. I wasn't really thrilled with the food. Nothing special about any of their dishes. As one reviewer noted the General Tso's chicken is "weak" and I agree. read more

Excellent food. Great general TSOs. Wondering why I never ordered from here before. Will definitely order again

Just received my food. The dumplings themselves are great, but it appears as though they gave me a container of straight-up soy sauce which tastes very different and kind of ruined my lunch. So salty and dark, definitely not what I am used to. And not what I paid for. read more

I am so sorry to make critical remarks about a local business, but new Moon Chinese in MNaugatuck is not fit to feed your dog. I stopped by for lunch on Saturday this week and ordered what I thought was a simple dish orange chicken with fried rice and an eggroll and what was handed to me after 10 minutes looked, tasted and felt like I got someone else's lunch left over from two days ago. The fried rice was tasteless the orange chicken was cold and the eggroll was greasy. I am so sorry to have to say this but I wouldn't advise anyone to look at the "New Moon" any time soon. read more

I don't like it when they keep asking to tip the driver, is their job to pay them not ours.. we get big orders and they still ask us -- TIP FOR DRIVER-- it is very frustrating... they probably tell their drivers to rely on their tips.... is free delivery so why are they insisting on tip the driver,,, I usually do it but now I stop call it them Completely,, even when I did the Chinese guy had an attitude so I stop tipping and ordering from them.. very sad because food was good but the way they acted was terrible read more

I was really impressed. We usually order from a different Chinese restaurant in town, but today my mother was over and insisted on New Moon. We ordered our usuals and we were very impressed. The onion rings and egg rolls were crispy and not at all grease-laden or soggy; the chicken with garlic sauce was delicious and my guy was happy with his General Tsos. Delivery was fast. Will definitely order from here again! read more

Horrible food!!!!First off I ordered well over 30 bucks and I got undercooked steamed dumplings, and the veggies in my veggie fried rice was undercooked. Also the Fried cheese doughnuts they offer for free they can have back and basically all the food was undercooked!!!! I was extremely surprised. I have not had really good flavorful Chinese food since I moved to the area. I did try several places with no luck. If you're familiar with Naugatuck, you very well know that there is a large number of Chinese restaurants in town. I've eaten and every Chinese restaurant in town and New Moon is by far the best. I've been ordering from them for years and haven't been disappointed yet. The delivery is very fast! You also have the ability to use an app called BeyondMenu to place your order and gives you the entire menu, along with what other users recommend! If you choose to eat here you won't be disappointed! read more

Tried delivery from New Moon. Ordered chicken chow mein and pork lo mein, and we have to say, there was no flavor associated with the food whatsoever. The chow mein lacked cabbage, and contained cheap lettuce as the only vegetable. I couldn't even taste the lo mein, but it least it had texture. The delivery component was the best part of our experience. Edible if you want delivery in Naugatuck, but don't make the same mistake I did: get off the couch and go elsewhere. EDIT: Added a star because we tried them again, and the flavors were much better. I think, as others have said, consistency is an issue. You'll either get decent food, or tasteless food. Delivery is a big problem. An hour and 20 minutes when they said 45! read more
