I hoped that I could remove the mark myself thus saving him the cost of restoration. I soon realized that in so doing, I could ruin the paint finish. That is when I took the vehicle to Unlimited and met Paul and Ginger who own the shop. As I chatted with Ginger, Paul took a look at the vehicle which I thought would be for an estimate. Ten minutes later, he came back and replied, "All Done". The long black streak was gone and the doors looked as good as new. Very gtatefully I asked,"What do I owe you?". "Nothing", he replied. Wow , was I impressed! I notified the gentleman whose car hit mine and he was ecstatic since Paul had now saved him a considerable amount of money for a paint repair.Besides meeting two very nice people and learned that they have been in business for 30 years, I will now know whom to call should I ever need and body repairs for any of my vehicles. Garage door closed (it was winter) but clearly marked for inspections. Realized later that there was a big vehicle parked in front of the entrance with the name of the company. That door is to the right of the garage door. Interesting waiting room. Lots of antiques to look at. Creepy dolls, age old magazines, Christmas decorations, and piles of 8-tracks! The wait was very entertaining!! Great music while you wait too!!! Everyone super friendly. Inspection was $20. I'll be back in a year :)

They use classic bait-and-switch tactics to avoid taxes and overcharge customers. Initially, they quoted me a ridiculous $930 for labor on my Lexus ES350, then offered to "lower" it to $790 only if I paid in CASH. This is clearly a tactic to avoid taxes while still charging premium rates. I provided all my own parts (spark plugs and two catalytic converters). Even though they only installed ONE of the two converters, they still forced me to pay the full "cash price" we had discussed for the entire job. When I asked about the second converter--which is a simple 30-minute job in the front of the engine--the mechanic tried to extort another $350 from me! To make it worse, the mechanic lied to my face about the technical difficulty of the job to justify his price hiking, claiming the rear catalyst is easier to access than the front one (a blatant lie to anyone who knows Lexus engines). These people are not honest mechanics; they are predators looking for cash-heavy transactions. The shop is empty for a reason. Check the other reviews--I'm not the only one they've tried to scam. Do yourself a favor and go to a professional shop that accepts cards and provides honest estimates.

My first experience was just stopping by to get my cars inspected, but I am now a customer for life. After having other places fail my cars in the past for a burned out marker light or turn signal and offer to replace said bulb for $50 it was surprised when Autohaus replace the bulb for $1.75. The actual cost of the bulb and no charge for the minute or two of labor to put it in. It's refreshing to see a family run repair shop focused on building customer relationships by providing great service and an honest price. I will recommend this place to everyone.

I had underlying issues they pointed out and I green lit the fixes as I wanted my car to be in the best of conditions for how many miles are on it. I wanted my car to go fast but with no purpose. Before I let anyone work on my truck, I have to be convinced that the quality of the materials is first rate and the workmanship is perfect - it also helps when the folks doing the work are as enthusiastic about putting a 61 year-old truck back on the road as I am. Because I plan on driving the truck regularly - and entering it in car shows - my requirements were very precise. The materials must be rugged enough to withstand regular use, easily cleanable for shows, and the materials must be "show quality". Needless to say, the workmanship must be flawless. Eric and his crew excelled on all points. The headliner is a perfect match for the color I wanted and the transition from dashboard to headliner is seamless. The carpet is plush, but easily cleaned and it is expertly fitted to the complex curves and angles of the firewall and kick panels. The effect is Absolute Perfection! As you know, there are only three or four high quality upholstery shops in the DC area that will take on custom work - and I visited them all. What initially set Craftsman apart is that everyone here is a "car guy / gal". They understood what I was doing and were enthusiastic about being a part of my restoration. Although I had a very specific idea of what I wanted, Eric offered some great suggestions on styling that were far better than my own. As you might expect, Craftsman Upholstery is a busy shop and you may need to wait a while before you can get in. Don't despair. Eric is straight forward about what jobs are in the queue and when he can get you in. I waited a few weeks - and the wait was well worth it. Finally, even if you're not looking for custom work, you should check out Craftsman. I would not go anywhere else for ultra-high quality auto, boat, or RV upholstery work.
