I would not hesitate to work with her again and Highly Recommend her to anyone looking for quality work at a fair and reasonable price; she also stands behind her work and worked well within my timeframe (actually finishing) sooner than expected. Lisa is very skilled and knowledgable as she offered to make arm covers with the new upholstery. However, through research and trying new sofas that offer higher seating, I decided it would be best to go with an option where I would sit higher, making it easier to stand back up after sitting for a while - that's not as easy as it used to be at my age now. I had new cushions made for a chair. After much discussion the fabric and foam cushioning was…read moredecided, the deposit made (extremely pricey $$$$) in January. I finally received word it was ready for pickup nearly 6 months later. I was notified that the door would be locked and to knock. Prior to this customers could just walk in. It was wrapped in plastic and I could not sit in it nor examine it, there was a rush to get me out the door. I paid the $$$$ balance and brought it home, excited to have it done. I sat in it and was immediately disappointed that it was not as we discussed and what was spelled out in detail on my itemized receipt. Appears that the correct foam for the chair back was not ordered. The chair pushes you out because the back is as thick as the seat cushion which is wrong. I did have an immediate conversation with Gina who sounded upset that I was not overjoyed with the result. I asked her when I could bring it back, she said the crew was backed up and had projects they had to get out; that she would be in contact with me. Needless to say it is Aug 31 and I have tried to contact by phone and text many times with no reply. Gina also knew I had an ottoman/footstool I also wanted completed for this chair and I suppose that may never happen. The cushions of the chair, other than the back cushion, are wonderfully constructed with great care and attention to detail. I am very upset and confused as to why I cannot get them to reply to correct this obvious error on the back cushion. I also had made it known that I had other similar chairs I wanted to have restored in the future; what a shame that it has come to this! I am seriously considering back-charging this with my credit card company in hopes to have resolution.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it's important to support local businesses. With that in mind, when I…read morehad to replace the stuffing from four chair cushions from down to foam, I ignored the larger establishments and the craigslist/Facebook marketplace/online offers and went to our local upholstery store. The quote was a little higher than the store who we found in Sterling, but, ya know - #HerndonStrong. A little over $200 and we'd have it back in a week, they said. So we gave it a shot. Color me underwhelmed. One week passes, nary a peep from the owners. E-mails sent and phone calls unreturned. Two weeks, nothing. Three weeks passed amidst multiple phone calls from us and it is finally complete. I go in to pick it up, the owner, Eddie--who doesn't feel a need to wear a mask when interacting with customers during the pandemic--shrugs and says "we put it aside and forgot about it." I mean, points for honesty, but seriously? I ask his brother Jeff (masked and helped with the door, thank you!), who rings me up if we were going to be paying the full freight despite it being three weeks late, and Eddie chimes in "I told you what happened." I get it that it was a small order, all things concerned, and concede that the relatively simple order appears to have been well done, but the lack of communication about tardiness and the apathy for being that late are deal-breakers. Small jobs matter too, and when we have our big job coming, I won't be back.
